This is in response to complaint ID [redacted] dated 9/29/2017.     On 9/8/2017 our company was contacted by the [redacted] gas station located on Hilltop Dr in Redding, California regarding an illegally parked vehicle. On arrival a full size pickup attached to a fifth wheel...

trailer was pulled across approximately 10 to 12 parking spaces against the fence at the [redacted] location.  The trailer had numerous dogs inside. Animal control was contacted as well as the Redding Police Department.  The manager of the [redacted] explained that the vehicle was left 2 days prior, and they had attempted to contact the owner numerous times. The [redacted] in the property behind the [redacted] was also contacted. The Manager of that motel stated that it was not a customer registered at his motel. Police gained entrance to the 5th wheel to do a welfare check, and the dogs were taken into custody by Animal Control. We then proceeded to tow truck and 5th wheel off the property. This was over 3 hours after our arrival. As the owner of the truck and trailer stated in his complaint, he was only gone for 2 hours and had a parking pass. Again, we were on scene as well as animal control and law enforcement. And there was no "parking pass" on the dash of the vehicle. The fees charged in this incident are correct. The owner was aware of the tow within less than an hour. He contacted our office and was made aware of charges and the procedure to reclaim his vehicle.     While it is unfortunate for the complainant, all rules and procedures were correctly followed. This is a civil issue that would be between the complainant and [redacted], if indeed they gave him permission to park at another businesses property. He is also aware that this is the case as he and I discussed this in lengthy detail at my office.     In short, the complainant was parked at another business than the one he states gave him a parking pass, numerous private property signs are posted clearly on the property, including the fence which he was parked against. He also states that [redacted] called to have his vehicle removed from their property. While we are the company that physically towed his vehicle, we are not the business that had his vehicle towed, nor are we the business that told him to park on someone else's property.
