To Whom It May Concern:I wanted to first mention that we are a clinic that works very close with the rescue community and try to make a difference in the over- population problem of dogs and cats here in San AntonioOur owners wanted to open a clinic that could do this and not be dictated by a corporate situationWe truly wanted to make pet ownership and rescue possible and affordable to the community. We offer low cost medical attention, spay, neuter and vaccinations in order to prepare these pets for adoptionWe provide Health Certificates, microchipping and other services so that transport is possible if they are being sent out of state. In response to the complaint submitted on 3/21/17, Ref# [redacted] , Callaghan Road Animal hospitalhas at least rescues on our records at all times and we have to set rules because of thisWe have the Rescue founder, foster parents and transporters coming in the name of one petThe protocol is the founder of the Rescue is to call ahead and authorize any other person if they are bringing in a pet under their accountIf we did not have this policy in place anyone could bring a pet in and ask us to make it someone else's responsibility. In this particular case, we did not get an authorization or notice of this drop off situation and the person complaining had to take responsibility for this particular pet herselfShe was told that we have totransfer the pet to her and we have clearly noted on our file that she knew thisThis is not the only peton her account and she has provided Health Certificates and other services for several others in her name. The pet was brought in on 1-29-by the complainantWe even transferred all donations that were pledged to the clients account and therefore this is the last note before sending the past due invoices and notice of sending to collectionsShe was given amble time to speak with us concerning this or set up a payment arrangement. As recent as October 2016, I made an attempt to speak with her leaving messages regarding this going to collectionsI feel we gave her so many opportunities to make this right and she was fully aware of her responsibilityI also feel that she is only upset because this has caused an issue on her credit and she is shifting the blame onto us, due to her negligence of this account. Our last notes state the following BALANCE: $323.58DONATIONS: $133.00REMAINING BALANCE 2/24: $190.58DE 04-09-9:47a: balance needs to be paid for Mr [redacted] - SAPA is not paying for Mr [redacted] - SAPA made us transfer pt to this client's account since they were the ones who brought pt in and are financially responsible- donations for Mr [redacted] were transferred as well- leaving balance at $Last conversation with Ms [redacted] she was aware she would be paying for remaining balance.I hope the above information is helpful, please feel free to contact me at the information aboveSincerely, [redacted] , Practice Manager

Complaint: [redacted] I am rejecting this response because: I volunteered for SAPA for many years and NEVER NEVER was allowed to go pick up a "pet" (rescue) without authorization from SAPA and filling out the necessary paperworkIts not a drive thru service where they throw a dog in your car and you drive awayThe pet "Mr [redacted] " was dropped off WITH the necessary paperworkI NEVER took financial responsibility for the animalI agreed to pick the animal up at SAPA ( [redacted] ***) and drop it off at Callaghan Road Animal Hospital for medical treatmentI was not the fosterI was not the rescueI received an email from SAPA asking for volunteers to transport the animal to the vet for medical careI (unfortunately) volunteered to transport the animal to the vetWhen I arrived the front desk clerk took my paperwork and the dog was taken to the back by leashI did not sign any type of paperwork at Callaghan Road Hospital stating I would be financially paperworkIf there is documentation or proof that I took financial responsibility then please forward this to my address you have on fileAnd to clarify, yes I am concerned about the negative impact this has on my credit report Regards, [redacted]

I can understand that the complainant does not want her credit affected in anywayIt is not our intentions as a business to do thatWe are in the business of helping pets and pet owners and we work with rescues to make it possible for them to have a forever homeIn face, we cater to this particular mission in the way of making care very affordable. In this case, living in Texas, the person leaving an animal in a facility or "dumping" as they call it is a violation and a misdemeanorIf the client did take the possession of the dog after the care than they would be responsible for the billIn either case, the bill is the person's responsibility that brought the dog, regardless of if they stated it was someone else's responsibilityI hope this clears up where the responsibility lies and I am available for any other questions regarding this issueThank you! Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because:
I volunteered for SAPA for many years and NEVER NEVER was allowed to go pick up a "pet" (rescue) without authorization from SAPA and filling out the necessary paperwork. Its not a drive thru service where they throw a dog in your car and you drive away. The pet "Mr [redacted]" was dropped off WITH the necessary paperwork. I NEVER took financial responsibility for the animal. I agreed to pick the animal up at SAPA ([redacted]) and drop it off at Callaghan Road Animal Hospital for medical treatment. I was not the foster. I was not the rescue. I received an email from SAPA asking for volunteers to transport the animal to the vet for medical care. I (unfortunately) volunteered to transport the animal to the vet. When I arrived the front desk clerk took my paperwork and the dog was taken to the back by leash. I did not sign any type of paperwork at Callaghan Road Hospital stating I would be financially paperwork. If there is documentation or proof that I took financial responsibility then please forward this to my address you have on file. And to clarify, yes I am concerned about the negative impact this has on my credit report.
