Initial Business Response / [redacted] (1000, 6, 2015/09/11) */ I see that the customer in this particular situation has failed to disclose that she was sent two years supply of lightbulbs for the fixture in question! In addition, I telephone this particular customer on August of to attempt to gain access to the rear disconnected garage area of her particular condominium buildingI advised the customer that we wanted to paint her garage door on August of and was told that we could not do it that particular dayNo actual reason was given and as such we were denied access to complete the jobAs relates to her complaint about not wanting to buy her paint the paint was purchased for this project last year after I was told to pick a brown type color that would match the existing garages that were adjacent to hersPlease keep in mind, get this building is in excess of years old in the garage is in question have not had their doors or windows painted in well over yearsas such, the customer was advised to pick up a paint of her choosing with the correct luster and finish that she desiredSo far, she has refused to do that as wellIn my estimation this case is over with from the standpoint that we have been denied access to complete her project Initial Consumer Rebuttal / [redacted] (3000, 8, 2015/09/14) */ (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) 1) Light fixture issue: The bulbs that were sent are not those that fit in this fixtureI would be happy to return them to Callahan BuildersI recently called the company that manufactures my light fixture, Kichler Lighting, and was informed that the correct replacment bulbs (Krypton #FST) made by Kichler, are not available directly to me as a consumer but only to contractors or suppliersNeither Callahan Builders nor his supplier ever offered this option to meI do not know whether they ever contacted KichlerIn addition, the loose fixture covering has not been addressedI believe that my year warranty needs to be honored 2) Garage door issue: I wanted to be present when the door painting was done and I was not available on August (I no longer recall why)I am available on many dates but no other date was ever proposed by Callahan BuildersI did not deny access to the garageI wanted a mutually agreeable date which does not seem like an extraordinary requestRegarding the color of the paint, I chose a closer color (Sherwin Williams Status Bronze, SW 7034) and supplied Callahan Builders with that information as requestedI did so this spring because when Callahan Builders came to paint the door in November, the temperature was well below degrees and the paint was not applied correctlyThen Callahan Builders decided that I was responsible for purchasing the paintfor an unfinished job that I'd paid for in fullSo yes, I did refuse to pay more for a job that was not completed to my satisfactionAnd by the way, the doors are NOT over years old I contacted Callahan Builders directly many times to try to resolve this issue without going to the Revdex.com but could receive no satisfaction as I would not receive calls back after the August conversation referred toI do not believe that my requests are either out of the ordinary or costly to Callahan Builders who, I would assume, do not want a negative mark on the Revdex.com site Final Business Response / [redacted] (4000, 10, 2015/09/17) */ Ms [redacted] needs to take the bulbs she was sent back to Gem Electric and see Katie at 114th and Cicero in Alsip, IllinoisThe bulbs I sent her are the correct ones but Katie stated she would work with the customer to get her satisfiedAlso please note the this fixture is not broken and the bulbs for these fixtures are not warrantied and I sent her the replacement bulbs as a courtesy to [redacted] As relates to the painting issue I stand on my original comments that we were denied access to this job and the customer has admitted such!!!

No actual reason was given and as such we were denied access to complete the job. As relates to her complaint about not wanting to buy her paint the paint was purchased for this project last year after I was told to pick a brown type color that would match the existing garages that were adjacent to hers. Please keep in mind, get this building is in excess of 108 years old in the garage is in question have not had their doors or windows painted in well over 50 years. as such, the customer was advised to pick up a paint of her choosing with the correct luster and finish that she desired. So far, she has refused to do that as well. In my estimation this case is over with from the standpoint that we have been denied access to complete her project.

I recently called the company that manufactures my light fixture, Kichler Lighting, and was informed that the correct replacment bulbs (Krypton #5905 FST) made by Kichler, are not available directly to me as a consumer but only to contractors or suppliers. Neither Callahan Builders nor his supplier ever offered this option to me. I do not know whether they ever contacted Kichler. In addition, the loose fixture covering has not been addressed. I believe that my 2 year warranty needs to be honored.

I wanted a mutually agreeable date which does not seem like an extraordinary request. Regarding the color of the paint, I chose a closer color (Sherwin Williams Status Bronze, SW 7034) and supplied Callahan Builders with that information as requested. I did so this spring because when Callahan Builders came to paint the door in November, the temperature was well below 40 degrees and the paint was not applied correctly. Then Callahan Builders decided that I was responsible for purchasing the paintfor an unfinished job that I'd paid for in full. So yes, I did refuse to pay more for a job that was not completed to my satisfaction. And by the way, the doors are NOT over 50 years old.
