Review: My number is on the Do Not Call List and after kindly informing them this and informing them that they had the wrong number after they asked for a [redacted], they continued with their scam and said, well maybe we just have the wrong name but the right phone number. I again kindly informed them that the number is on the Do Not Call list and to please remove it from their list and then the person gets hostile. They will hang up and within minutes I will get a call from the same number but a different person with the same scam. They change up their phone numbers and continue to call. Not once have they actually asked for me. Always for other people...[redacted], [redacted], etc...forgot all the names they've used.

Review: On numerous occasions over the past 2 few months I have received a call on my cell from XXX XXX XXXX regarding Medicare eligibility to receive a back or knee brace at no charge to me. The prompt is to press 1 to connect to a rep and 2 to be removed from the call list. Typically I press 2 to be removed. Having done this multiple times, I pressed 1 and asked the rep how to effectively be removed from the list and was hung up on twice. The third time I called (pressing 1) [redacted] answered and claimed to be a supervisor with [redacted],stating she would remove my number. A short time later, I receive another call. The harassment I've received from this number, while at work must stop! When I looked up the company she claims to work for, I cannot locate a correlating number for this company. Reverse phone lookup indicates this is a call center for Callerid4U out of Eugene OR.Desired Settlement: First - I do not wish for another representative from Callerid4u or [redacted] to contact me again. I've been harassed enough.

Second - remove my number from their call list.

Third - learn about customer service. I don't care what profession someone is in, treat people respectfully and at least attempt to accommodate or redirect a request. It's NEVER OK to hang up on someone!

Review: I have received over 20 calls from [redacted] in the past month and 10 days. I am on the Do Not Call list and have told them not to call me; they still are. My privacy is being violated by this company, and I have seen numerous complaints about this company. My only recourse now is to file a formal complaint with Oregon Revdex.com, as it appears that your agency has been in contact with callerid4u.com about this, and they have stated they would resolve the problems; they have not. They have called in the past, but not as aggressively as they have done in the past month. I called the number they provided in the Revdex.com response and talked to a real person on Nov 27, 2013 who said they "would try" to get the calls to stop. I told them to stop calling very clearly. They said I had: Case number XXXXX.

I just received another call.

Caller Id said Cty, phone number was from XXX-XXX-XXXX on Dec 2, 2013 at 1:39pm.

I gave them the "24 to 72 hours" they claim to have needed. It seems they don't care about breaking laws or about harassing people with robo calls even if the person says to stop and is on the National Do Not Call list. Please make them stop calling me. If more information is needed such as a list of all the phone calls going back a bit, please contact me.

Review: received a call from XXX-XXX-XXXX caller claimed to be my web hosing company. I know the sole proprietor of my web hosting company personally.

this was not my web hosting company.

Caller claimed to need updated credit card information for my business.

At that time I knew it was a scam caller trying to commit fraud and or identity theft.

I spoke with caller ID 4 you, The owner of the number XXX-XXX-XXXX I was told no more calls would be made from this number to my business, However the calls started again a few weeks later.

I spoke with [redacted] the original owner of the above number and was giving the new owners info " caller ID 4 u" and the contact number for this business. I called and made another complaint again about the same issue from the same number.Desired Settlement: I would ask caller ID for u to submit the users of the number XXX-XXX-XXXX to the FCC for violations set by them and other entities to protect us citizens from phone fraud.

Review: Received 2 back to back calls in the span of less than 10 minutes regarding business funding. Two days ago, received two calls, first one hit 2 to remove from list, second one got a live person and told to quit calling, they hung up. There are NUMEROUS complaints where CallerId4u claims innocence based upon being "just a telephone company." Review: I keep getting cell phone calls from a client of this company almost daily offering credit card services. Review: CallerId4u is hosting telephone lines that arrive from undisclosed locations and which are known to be used by criminal organisations - representing themselves as "Credit Card Services" and offering to lower APR on credit card balances if you just give them the number and expiration date.

The same scam has been going on for 6 years now and callerId4u is still hosting their service and giving these criminals a legit-looking USA land line number that is reported as "no spam is associated with this number". Talk about truth in advertising. When my number is on the "do not call" list then CallerId4u cannot allow a telemarketing company use their service to call me anyway and hide behind the artificially created identity - they should be liable to prosecution associated to illegally calling no-call numbers. In particular, I am filing this complaint after being called from number XXX-XXX-XXXXDesired Settlement: Close all dealings with "Credit Card Services and other criminal organisations that have been calling people on "do not call" lists, publish the identity of the people or organisations using these numbers so they can be prosecuted as it is the intention of the do-not-call laws. Why would I need to complain to CallerId4U before they will inform their customer to stop making illegal calls? My number has been on the federal Do-Not-Call list for many years, so it is clear that repeatedly calling me for telemarketing purpose is an illegal act. CallerId4U is not even registered with the FTC to provide compliance services to telemarketers as a "service provider" and do not subscribe to the Federal Do Not Call registry. CallerId4U is supporting their customers in continuing this illegal activity by hiding their identities unless a subpoena is presented. Ridiculous. If they were a honest company, they would terminate any cooperation to illegal activity, but by making it extremely difficult to reach their customers, they clearly show that they endorse these activities and the reasons are obvious: They earn a lot of money from kick-back fees on every (illegal) phone call their customers make. So that is the reason that they are as uncooperative as they can get away with without immediately being arrested. However, they are in serious non-compliance to USA law due to their own definition of Compliance Services which do not follow federal law. In particular

their process for opting out of unwanted calls. It is clear that these "opt-out" services do not bring a telemarketer into compliance with the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA) or the Telemarketing Sales Rule, especially when consumers never legitimately "opted-in" to receiving calls from CallerId4U and their telemarketers in the first place. The FTC describes it this way:

Under the Telemarketing Sales Rule, the vast majority of calls that deliver a prerecorded message trying to sell you something are illegal, unless you've given written permission for the caller to call you. For the record, I never gave permission to CallerId4U or its mysterious customer to call me. They simply initiated illegal telemarketing calls to me.

This includes hiding the identity of the criminal organisation that is trying to steal credit card information, for which they provide legit looking phone numbers and giving them tools to submit a confusing Caller Id, such as "Card Services". This practice violates the federal law,

even if CallerId4U claims to be ignorant of this illegal activity, they still appear to be in clear violation of 16 C.F.R. §310.3(b) of the Federal Telemarketing Sales Rule, which states:

Assisting and facilitating . It is a deceptive telemarketing act or practice and a violation of this Rule for a person to provide substantial assistance or support to any seller or telemarketer when that person knows or consciously avoids knowing that the seller or telemarketer is engaged in any act or practice that violates §§310.3(a), (c) or (d), or §310.4 of this Rule.

The FTC publishes a guide to help businesses comply with the Telemarketing Sales Rule. This is what they have to say about the "Assisting and Facilitating" rule:

Assisting and Facilitating Sellers or Telemarketers Who Violate the Rule is Prohibited

It is a violation of the Rule to substantially assist a seller or telemarketer while knowing - or consciously avoiding knowing - that the seller or telemarketer is violating the Rule. Thus taking deliberate steps to ensure one's own ignorance of a seller or telemarketer's Rule violations is an ineffective strategy to avoid liability. The help that a third-party provides must be more than casual or incidental dealing with a seller or telemarketer that is not related to a violation of the Rule. For example, cleaning a telemarketer's office, delivering lunches to the telemarketer's premises, or engaging in some other activity with little or no relation to the conduct that violates the Rule would not be enough to support liability as an assistor or facilitator.

Third parties who do business with sellers and telemarketers should be aware that their dealings may provide a factual basis to support an inference that they know - or deliberately remain ignorant of - the Rule violations of these sellers and telemarketers. For example, a third party who provides sellers or telemarketers with mailing lists, help in creating sales scripts or direct mail pieces, or any other substantial assistance while knowing or deliberately avoiding knowing that the seller or telemarketer is engaged in a Rule violation may be violating the Rule.
