Review: I have purchased a used car from this business a 1995 Toyota Corolla for $1995.00 plus tags and tax on Sept 16, 1913. 2 months later the engine blew. My mechanic told me it would cost over $1300.00 to have it fixed., almost the purchase price of the car. I have only put 350 miles on this car. I have contacted [redacted], his answer to me was have it towed back and he would give me a $500.oo credit on a new car. I am still paying on the car previously that now is junk.

1.) Tow back to shop--$75.00(Broke down on bypass)

2.)Owe $700.00 dollars to mechanic to check for problem.

3.)Tow back to Caln Auto Sales $75.000

I am on a fixed income and put my trust in the hands of them and I lost...Desired Settlement: I feel that he knew the condition of the car before he sold it. They have had this family business for decades, They are not new to this I feel I have been taken.

I am rejecting this response because:First of all Caln Auto Sales Never Investigated about the car, I verbally told them of the problem. Also for as many years as they were in business they sold me a car which they already new in the automobile industry that this type of vehicle should of had timing belt changed at 60,000 miles per my mechanic. I was on the bypass doing 60 miles a hour during rush hour when this car died not only did he sell me a lemon he put me at serious injury or death to myself and others when the vehicle just stopped. Also I noticed when I passed their he know has a sign up Life-Time warranty not sure of what it includes but it was not offered to me..In which really makes this transaction questionable.

I am rejecting this response because: I have over 100 complaints against this business. I have also contacted the FTA on this matter. I fell that he knew about this car and talking to other used car dealers, looking at cars similiar they had offered warranty. When I asked about the timing one of them had showed me the sticker on when it has been changed. Like I said previously in my complaint this car totalling $1995.00 took me to work twice. And if you don't see nothing wrong with that its ashame. Thats why Caln Auto Sales offered me $500.00 down payment on another vehicle cause he knows he is wrong. if I brought the car back

I am rejecting this response because: First of All my name is not [redacted]. My car did not come with a vehicle handbook. When we purchased my daughters car from their her engine blew. I was just placed on Disability and could not afford a new car and I am all about second chances. I have not lied about anything in my responses there is no need to. I am willing to settle this claim for $500.00. I no longer have the car and it would be greatly appreciated for a down payment at another establishment. Sincerely, [redacted].
