Calumet Auto Wrecking

Review: Ok here is the story. Bought a so called low mileage transmission that was supposed to be under 5k. Received it and first of all torque converter was all rusted up. So I called [redacted] at Calumet and he said no big deal just use steelwool to remove rust or just use your converter. At this point I had no choice since I had arrange for shipping. So I installed it and transmission slipped the usual input drum problems - the usual 4l60e transmission problems. So I contacted [redacted] and he said to just send it in for a refund. After returning transmission [redacted] would just tell me that it would have to be inspected. Then he turns around and just says the next time send me card info for credit. Credit card info was emailed. Then he decides that It was just going to be a store credit. Item should have never been sent to a buyer that way. [redacted] seems to be very dishonest and cant seem to be trusted. Small town bank could not give me any protection. So I cant do anything with a credit I need a refund. This vendor cannot be trusted when you send a converter all rusted up to a garage or transmission specialist.I have a printout of the transmission listing found on car-parts.com has stock number and mileage stock number [redacted]vin [redacted] for a 2004 Chevy Truck 4 by 4invoice reference number [redacted]And after sending it back as a bad transmission. I found it listed on car-parts.com again meaning they were willing to sell it to another customer after knowing transmission is bad.Desired Settlement: I would like to have Calumet pick up the charges made to my credit card. I would expect a full refund from them. If possible shipping charges.

Review: I posted an ad for a CD changer for a 96 Lincoln Town Car. [redacted] at calumet auto wrecking responded stating that it was not the model number that I had given him but he thought it would work. I asked him if his parts were refundable. He said yes. It was a changer without the magazine so it was not a complete unit. He charged me $100.00 plus $30.00 for shipping. When it arrived the connector was different so I could not use it. I promptly shipped it back to him. He told me to E-Mail a picture of the connector to him which my daughter did. He said he did not receive it.I asked that he credit my account with the $100.00 dollars. He then said he did not give refunds. He charged me thirty dollars to ship it to me and I paid $11.00 to ship it back.cdDesired Settlement: yes

Calumet when first requested. I had to go through the steps to get someone to do it for me. I cannot impose again. My next step will be small claims court. A refund would be clean and simple

hi sherida...just recieved the letter for id #9873685..if it would make it any easier for mr [redacted]..I understand he is limited with internet access..so I would be willing to send a ups call tag to him (at no charge)..to get the original part to us so we can make sure to send him the correct part he needs...I will also return it to him with out any cost to him...we are ready when he is..thanks [redacted]
