placed in the store. Customer also stated she purchased the mattress one month ago, our records show that it was almost five months when the item was purchased. We offer exchanges on our products when it comes to wear and tear. An issue such as bed bugs is a problem the customer would of had at the place of residence. Stated it before that all our products are inspected and tagged. Nothing in the business is falsely advertised. We tried to work with the customer at the time and the customer failed to provide proof on when the product was purchased. She claimed it was one month but ended up being five. When the mattress was brought back it was in good condition nothing was wrong with it. We refused to put the old mattress in the store because we do not take back old mattress or pick them up due to fear of contaminating the product we have on hand. If there was a problem with bed bugs the customer should of also exchanged the box spring which she didn't. The customer got hostile and even threatened a couple of employees and the police had to escort them out of the business twice due to the safety of employees. We tried to work with the customer but with the attitude,threats, and failure to provide proof of purchase at the time being. It was hard to resolve the issue. Our business has been in good standing never had any problems prior. We have been in business for over five years and never had any problems prior.

I do not accept the response from the business because as I stated when I purchased the mattress I noticed black spots on the mattress and that is why I believe that the mattress was contaminated when I purchased it. Plus at the time of the purchase of the mattress that was the only piece of furniture that I owned in a newly renovated apartment. I didn't return the box spring because I never took the box spring out of the original plastic therefore I didn't suspect that there were bedbugs in the box spring. The owner or manager I'm not really sure who the man was, but he called the police because I refused to remove the mattress from the property and I did not have to be escorted from the property I left willingly. I ended up going back to retrieve the mattress which about a week later my apartment complex came and treated my whole apartment for bedbugs, including the mattress. I wasn't untruthful about when I purchased the mattress, I just wasn't sure how long it had been. I came home and found the receipt and my mother took the receipt back to Calumet Mattress it was at that time that they said they were unwilling to do anything. I have pictures and I also have a witness from the apartment complex that is willing to testify on my behalf if I need him to, stating that he is an eye witness that this apartment was completely empty and free of bedbugs when I moved in.
