Review: In September my wife [redacted] contacted [redacted] of the business and told him that she wanted him to give her an estimate how much it would cost to move her furniture from Brooklyn, New York to our home in [redacted]. He gave her a price of $1,200. She told him she also had 3 paintings that she wanted to be delivered and he told her that would cost an extra$300 because bubble wrap was expensive and he would have to buy special boxes for the paintings. [redacted] told him that she did not have the money and when she was ready she would call him. [redacted] called [redacted] numerous times to get her business and each time she told him she was not ready. [redacted] told him she would be using her charge card and that she only had $1,000 available. He told her that he had someone who could take the money off the card and verbally agreed that she would give him the extra $500 when he returned from Florida. He then loaded the furniture on to the rental truck He was very unprofessional and told her that he was not a technician and she would have to get someone to dismantle her Treadmill and bring it to the truck. He is supposed to be a professional mover. He told her where she should go to get the money taken from the card. On arrival at the location my wife found that this was a Budget rental company and that the truck would be rented in her name for 7 days. The customer service service rep told her that if she rented the truck she would be responsible for any damages or unpaid charges. Mind you she was not the only customer that was being moved to Florida by [redacted]. I told my wife to cancel the contract which she did. The customer service rep at Budget told her the truck was still on the premises and she called [redacted] to tell him to remove the painting, he told her he could not remove the paintings as he had property for other people on the truck and that the truck was already in New Jersey. This of course was dishonest because my wife saw the truck at the Budget rental place. Later on he called my wife and told her was in South Carolina and that he would be sending someone to pick up the money and have her sign a bill of laden because he could not go through the states without it as he had to stop at the agricultural stations. A lie. This was a small Budget rental truck. [redacted] never gave my wife a receipt for the furniture and when he arrived at my home he demanded cash because he said this was Cash on Delivery. I called the police but since I did not have a copy of the receipt they told me I had to pay [redacted] had written on the contract Cash On Delivery which my wife said was never the agreement. That was put there when he realized my wife would not pay to rent the truck since she was listed as a driver. After unpacking the furniture I pointed out to [redacted] that he had damaged my furniture and that pieces had broken off. He assured me that he would look for the missing pieces and call me. He never did and he has no answered any of my calls. He is very dishonest and unscrupulous.Desired Settlement: Return a copy of the billing invoice which [redacted] took when he delivered the items without my knowledge. Receipt for delivery of product and proof of payment was placed on my entrance table by me. [redacted] took the receipt when he was leaving, my furniture was also damaged and he promised that he would try to find the missing pieces or have the chairs repaired. He failed to answer any of his calls. It should be noted that when I discovered the receipt was missing, I called [redacted] numerous times but he never responded.
