It doesn't matter how the money changed hands he was paid for an appraisal by me and I want a refund because he did a terrible job. He made mistakes that professional should not have made. Regardless, the appraisal came in too low. I am not working with that particular lender. This whole mess stinks. the borrower pays the lender, who then goes through a middle management company, who then assigns the appraisal to the appraiser. We as appraisers are paid by the management company, not the borrower.This process was completely explained at the time of the inspection for the appraisal to the borrower.If a borrower has any questions or complaints, they are to forward them to their lender.
