Cambria Suites Roanoke Reviews (4)

I have read the above complaints and agree this is not a good hotel to stay at. Not only the other complaints that customers have they treat their employee's like crap. They make one person do the job of five they fire people in order to save a buck for no reason. They will not let VEC help the person after they are let go so you are not going to get the treatment of a five star hotel with half the staff. If you are looking for a place for employment this is not the place to apply for that either.

cambria suites on reserve ave is not a good place to stay. Other than all the other reviews that I read above they treat their personel like crap. They are not fair they promise them help on their job then don't give them any then they fire them because they can't do five people's jobs then they lie on them so they can't get help from VEC.If looking for a place for employment this is not the place to go.So with the corp. cutting down on employee's or trying to make one person do the job of five you are not going to get the services you paid for.Lacking in all dept.of the hotel so you are not going to get a five star hotel plus the lie.

Review: I'm a [redacted] employee that came to [redacted] for the last 3 weeks for new job training. Out of 5 of us [redacted] employees that were in my training group, who all were here from out of town, had belongings that were stolen out of our rooms. I had gold jewelry that was stolen, a chain with a charm and a bracelet as well as their items which I won't disclose. They've given me the run around all week and it is felt as they don't even care about my situation. I'd advise any and everyone not to go here. They obviously hire criminals!Desired Settlement: I'd like to have my belongings or the value of them in the form of a check.

Ms. [redacted], thank you for reaching out to my about this, and I apologize that I have not been able to respond sooner. I have spoken to my regional supervisor, who was asked to step in and assist with this situation. He states that without any substantial evidence we agreed to reimburse Mr. [redacted] and have done so. Below is an email that he sent to me in response to my request for information. “Mr. [redacted]’s claim of lost articles from his room was never substantiated by our investigation, including a lock audit, however we did decide to completely reimburse him for 100% of the value given to us for his items as a good will deed.”I hope this sheds some light on the outcome of the situation for you. And if you have any other questions please feel free to contact me anytime at your convenience. [redacted]

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted] The business did reimburse me 100% however there were others that had things stolen from there rooms that were Wells Fargo employees so I'm not sure why the business responded saying there wasn't substantial information with my complaint. Thanks for your assistance Revdex.com!

Review: I was told a price of 88.00 for a room when we checked in, and charged a different rate. I booked the room thru an 800 number that I believed was the hotel. I was later informed that number is someone they contract to sell their rooms. I asked the person I booked the room with if they were the closest to the hospital my Dad is in and they replied that they were. I booked a King Suite at 111.00 plus tax on the phone, as that was "all she had at the time", and when I checked in at 11:30 pm, I asked if they had a room with two beds and the clerk [redacted], said she had a room at 88.00.

I have been charged 111.00 plus tax /fees which is 125.99. I requested a credit and the hotel told me they could do nothing because the room was sold by their contractor, even though their employee quoted me the 88.00., When we checked out in the morning, the clerk refused to give me a receipt, but did say the cost was 88.00. She said because the room was sold by their contractor she could not give me a receipt.Desired Settlement: I would like to be charged the cost the hotel quoted me when I checked in. I would like the difference credited back.

Regarding Revdex.com ID [redacted], the concerned guest booked a hotel room via Expedia and paid [redacted] directly for the entire stay at our location. In return [redacted] paid the hotel at an agreed upon discounted rate due to the amount of rooms [redacted] purchases. This is a common and well known practice in the hospitality industry, These rates are not to be disclosed to the customer, in this case the agent working at the hotel accidentally revealed Expedia's rate to the guest which was a different amount than the guest initially paid Expedia. This is how online booking agents or travel agents work, they book multiple rooms and take a nominal fee from each booking. In no way do we have a booking agent (in this case Expedia) that perpetrates themselves as us. All booking agents or third party vendors are required to disclose that they are a third party booking agent and cannot represent themselves as our organization. Concerning this matter I feel it is an unfortunate event, since we did not directly charge the guests credit card we cannot refund her card any amount. The guest paid a discounted rate to [redacted] other than our regular advertised rate. The concern of representation and billing needs to be directed to Expedia. We value each of our guests equally and strive to provide an extremely high quality of service during their entire stay from booking to post check out.

I have reviewed the response offer made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

I did not book thru [redacted] or any other online company. I called the 800 number listed and spoke to a person on the phone that told me she was the closest hotel to the Roanoke hospital. Never at any time did she say that she was Expedia. The desk clerk gave me the rate of 88.00 per night, and that is what I should be charged. This is unacceptable and fraudulent. I bought this to the attention of the desk clerk upon checking out and was refused a receipt for the room as well. How is it acceptable that a hotel employee gives one price, but then charges a different price completely? This is unethical. The difference of what they charged versus what was quoted should be refunded.

Response:

We are working with the third party booking agent to get your money refunded.
