This letter is in response to the above referenced complaint filed by [redacted].Since we were first informed of the issues with [redacted]'s apartment, we made every effort to work with her to resolve her issues. Since [redacted] first notified us of the roaches in her apartment, we made...

numerous appointments for inspections and treatment, which she canceled. We were finally able to enter her apartment and perform treatment. We had the supervisor from [redacted] Pest Control inspect her apartment who gave us a written report stating that the resident needs to clean under her stovetop and refrigerator. There were no other indications of roaches seen in the kitchen and bathroom at that time. All of our correspondence with [redacted] is in writing as well as a written report from [redacted] Pest Control. In addition, we have all the correspondence that shows she repeatedly canceled inspection appointments that had been made to determine the extent of the roach problem and how best to treat it. This can be provided to you if needed. The real issue is when [redacted] decided she did not want to fulfill her lease agreement, we told her that we would let her out of her lease agreement, however, she would need to give us a 30 Day Notice. We further agreed that if she found something sooner, we would let her out of the lease sooner or we could extend it if she was having an issue finding something to rent. So it is really not us refusing to give her a reference, it is [redacted] refusing to give us a written 30-Day Notice. Please note, [redacted] signed her lease agreement, which clearly states under section 4. Term “....the rental agreement may be terminated by either party giving written notice 30 days in advance." Our policy, is to receive a written 30-Day Notice before releasing information on a resident referral. Civil Code requires residents to give us written notice as well. If we begin to make exceptions for one resident, we then have to begin to make exceptions for all residents and then it can become a fair housing violation, not to mention a civil code violation. This was explained to Courntey and as you can see, she has continued to slander Cambridge, in writing, to the Revdex.com as well as threats on Linked in. All of this behavior is because she does not want to follow the written protocol in her lease. We are more than happy to give her a reference, she just needs to formally give us a written notice that she is moving.Further, we would appreciate it if she would not continue to slander Cambridge with comments that are not true. Please let me know if you should have any further questions regarding this matter
