Regards,
[redacted] I am not surprised at their response to my complaint. On November 3    I did bring my vehicle in for a 165,000 mile maintenance.  I was told that in addition to the regular maintenance there was play in the right ball joint, the spring seats were wearing and the front break hoses had cracks . I asked the man working on my car what needed to be replaced today. He told me the ball joint. He said the spring seats were worn. I asked if they should be replaced that day because I wanted to make sure the vehicle was safe. He said they did not have to be replaced that day as they were worn and I should notice a noise in the fender area under the windshield, which had not occured. He showed me the cracks in the brake hose on the left. We discussed what needed to be repaired that day. He told me the right ball because there was alot of play in it. I had not noticed that either. For safety sake I told him to replace the right ball joint. My husband had a ball joint break as a teenager and he wrecked and went through a wooden fence on RT 614 in Amelia County Virginia. I told them I would be back to have the other repairs made.
On november 19, 2015 my Grandson and I were traveling to an appointment around 5:30 pm. It was raining extremely hard and it was very dark. They were working on the road but had taken a break because of the rain I assumed. Their equipment was still around but we saw no signs to worn us that their was anything in the road that we should be cautious about. All of a sudden there was a loud bump and it jarred us really bad. As the SUV that was in the lane beside us hit the same thing there was anothr loud noise. We continued on our way and when we reached our destination I got out with my flashlight to check the outside and as best I could underneath. I saw nothing except the windshield was broken. As we rode home I had a grey rag in my console that I wiped some moisture off of the left side of the wind shield on the inside next to the post between the windshield and the driver side window.
I had the windshield replaced and noticed a rattle in the area of the right spring seat. There was no more water leaking in after the windshield was replaced. The man from Clear View Glass said the hoses between the roof may have come loose or were stopped up. I told the insurance agent that we were still in our November rainy season but I no longer had water problems. I met with him on December 2, 2015 and he took pictures of my car. We talked and he said I should get the vehicle checked and an estimate for repair of the damages to the vehicle on Nov. 19,2015.
I took my Volvo to Paul's on December 3,2015 because they had recently done  maintenace check and service. I do not know why [redacted] went on and on and on about the windshield leak because I told him it was not leaking since the windshield replacement.  The car had dried out on the inside between the windshield replacement and the visit to Paul's on the Dec 3, 2015. I told him that but he kept on talking about how that model had drains from the sunroof that were a problem. I did not know he was going to check the drains as I had told him it was not leaking anymore since the windshield was replaced. He wasted time searching for the water problem because it was solved. [redacted] never called me while I was out killing time while they did the estimate as stated in the letter. I returned to the shop around 2 pm hoping to get my car and pick up my Grandson from school.
My insurance adjuster asked me to have Paul's call him with his findings. [redacted] told the adjuster he found no water leaks which we already knew. so why they charged me for looking for a leak I do not know. It was raining on December 2 when the adjuster looked at the vehicle and when Paul's checked it apparantly because they wanted to they found the inside dry as stated by me. The car was out of alignment , the foglight on the right was broken, the post on the inside of the car by the windshield which had gotten wet needed to be replaced and the spring seats were"BROKEN" not worn as stated on November 2, 2015.
As for the loaner car I told whoever I made the appointment with 2 times  "NO"  that I wait in the waiting room for my car. The third time she asked I said okay. She said nothing about a charge for it.
I came in and talked to [redacted] and [redacted]. They had to order a part. They gave me my keys and the estimate. I went outside to tranfer my purchases from their loaner car, not rental car. When I returned to give them their key [redacted] said I had to pay. I told him I had never paid for an estimate and the person that insisted I take a loaner car never mentioned a charge.
After I got home and had taken time to process things I called [redacted] to let her know that I would not be returning so they should not order parts. At that time I told [redacted] I was not going to go over the same argument again. As I had already talked to her and [redacted]. Paul's states they left me a voicemail to call them to discuss the matter. I have my cellphone records and there is no call.  And again why should we keep arguing. Then I put my notes together to make a complaint to Revdex.com. Due to personall reasons I did not get the complaint filed until now.
Also the point I would like to make is if something is worn but still has wear but now after the  accident in which there was  tremendous blow to the car and us the part is now broken, Why wasn't the part prorated?
I do not know who [redacted] J [redacted] is but I want her to know I take this complaint very seriously.
Also on my last complaint I forgot to put something in it so I would like to address it now. I took my car in  to Paul's for maintenance. I told them their was a message that said Park Assistance needs checking but it was working fine. The lady at the counter said she would talk to the guy working on it. She came back to the counter and said the message just needed to be turned off and it had been done. After I got about half way home I noticed the Park Assistance had been cut off but the original message was still there. When I got home I called them and told them about it. We agreed to address it the next time I came in for maintenance. The next time I asked them to get the guy to cut it back on. Again on the way home I noticed nothing had been done. Again on Nov 3, 2015 I asked that it be turned back on. It is still off.
This car means alot to me and I try to take care of it. I am furious that this happend. I should not have gone back after the first mistake was made.
I look forward to Paul's Volvo Service responce to this as their last responce was that I would not argue with them.

This letter is in regard to complaint # [redacted] by [redacted].  Ms....

[redacted] brought her vehicle in on November 3, 2015 for a 165,000 mile maintenance, a general check over of the vehicle is performed.  We informed Ms. [redacted] of several issues found with her vehicle.  The right ball joint had a lot of play, the spring seats were worn, and the front brake hoses had cracks. At that time Ms. [redacted] had us to only replace the right ball joint.
On December 2, 2015 Ms. [redacted] brought her vehicle in for us to check for any damages to the vehicle from "hitting something in the road".  Ms. [redacted] stated that her windshield as a result from the impact and was recently replaced. She stated that water was leaking into the vehicle onto her floorboards.  She also stated that " the windshield guy thought the water was coming in through the sun roof drains".  We checked the vehicle and found the floor boards dry and found no signs of leakage.  We also checked the sun roof drains and found no issues with the drains.  At that time [redacted] called Ms. [redacted] to get more information about the leak and to inform her that we did not see any signs of leakage.  Ms. [redacted] told [redacted] to call her insurance adjuster.  [redacted] spoke to him and he stated that he did not see any water on floor boards either.
Ms. [redacted] was also told again that the vehicle spring seats were broken and given an estimate of $367.02.  We also explained to Ms. [redacted] that the spring seats are a wear item and reminded her that they were worn prior to the accident as previous stated on November 3, 2015. We also explained to Ms. [redacted] what they were and where they were located again.
Ms. [redacted] states that she was charged for an estimate.  She brought her vehicle in for us to check for damages from the accident.  Our technician spent over an hour inspecting the vehicle.  She was only charged .3 ($26.85) in labor for checking the vehicle for the leak she said she had.
Ms. [redacted] states that she was not told that there was a charge for our loaner cars.  Ms. [redacted] has been coming here since 2013 and normally waits while we work on her car. There are three signs clearly posted where customers drop off their vehicles stating that there is a $15.00 per day for our loaner cars. They are located in our waiting room.  Ms. [redacted] called that afternoon after picking up her vehicle and spoke to [redacted].  She stated that she will no longer be bringing her vehicle to us.  [redacted] tried to discuss the issues that Ms. [redacted] had but Ms. [redacted] said "that her purpose for this call was not to get any explanation but to let us know that she would not be back".
We take any complaint from a customer very seriously.  Therefore, we also called Ms. [redacted] that same afternoon to address the situation.  She did not answer.  We left a voicemail for her to please call us so that we could discuss the matter.  We never heard from Ms. [redacted].

Sincerely,
[redacted]
