I had received a renewal notice via email stating that the complex where I reside wished to increase my rent roughly about for the next months upon renewing my leaseI thought a month was an absurd monthly increase, but was told they needed to bring my monthly rent up to the current market valueI have heard them in the walls and ceiling in my apartment, not to mention the infestation of cockroaches I had that they attempted to correct with some shady extermination companyI ended up using my own company and fixed the issue with my own moneyI have been a great tenant and had no complaints filed against me nor have I ever paid my rent lateSO then when I attempted to turn in my day move out notice, I was told by the manager of the complex she wouldn't accept it unless I pain in cleaning fees up frontIn the lease agreement I agreed to it states those fees are to be paid upon the end of the termed lease agreementIt also states that the cleaning fee is dollars for a two bedroom apartment not I was then told there is a cleaning fee tax of 1.65%I also had paid a months rent of as a security deposit that they stated they could not take those fees fromI was then told that they will not be able to accept my November rent unless I pay those fees and that the security deposit is for any damages and the final water bill on the apartment when the termed lease is doneI have spoke with other previous residents who claim the company always sends a final added cleaning fee bill so what the up front cleaning fee is for I don't know? and why is there tax being put on that because that is not in the lease agreementNow to be told unless I pay the fee by the first they will not accept my next months rentI think this is dirty business practiceThe tenants pay a lot of money to live there and the pools are murky, the grounds are now over taken by un landscaped plants, there are rats running around the property, and half the lights don't work at night on the pathways making it an unsafe environmentThey want to take and nickel and dime the tenants there but will not fix anything or listen to the tenants
