Cameo Kennels and Day Care Reviews (6)

To the Revdex.com; The complainant has my sincere apologies for the misconceptions about her pet’s stays here I made sure everyone on staff was aware of her pet’s sensitivities and they were all very diligent in every way available It isn’t possible to have even an individual dog on the grass areas at all times due to where they are situated away from the buildings and on the outer section of the kennels, no quick access through all the yards for monitoring, no permanent cover and, until more recently, no lighting for after dark To my knowledge, no one made statements as such on any of the previous visits although mentioning play time on the grass may have led to that assumption As stated previously, I made this all clear when her pet was dropped off and offered a full refund for the weekend at that time, which I am more than happy to still offer The refunds for future visits where only held back to use for legal counsel if needed due to the threatening phone calls, nothing to do with social media, and there have been no further calls or threats madeIn reference to my previous response, there was quite a bit of extra time spent over the weekend taking care of her pet and he left my facility happy and doing well, but the pet parent was told it was important to continue washing his feet because of his extreme sensitivity I understand there is always so much to do and think about before and after even a short vacation, something which doesn’t seem important may be overlooked but I do believe the complainant has true concern for her petThank you Cameo Kennels and Day Care

Judy called, she closed the complaint resolved because the last statement from the business was she would send the refundShe has not received anything as of yet

In response to complaint #[redacted] brought her pet in to be boarded after I had suggested this might not be the best fit for him anymore, since he seemed to have become more sensitive to the pea stones over the past several visits.  On the immediate prior visit we had discussed what...

might help his stay here and I had mentioned walking him in different areas to help callous his pads which she indicated was an acceptable suggestion.  She had also been asked to wait to pay deposits for future stays until we could see if his reaction was any better this time. In both cases, she insisted on maintaining her arrangements.  When she came in on April 29th, she demanded that he only be allowed on the grass and was immediately, and very specifically, told that wasn’t possible; there was standing water in those yards due to the heavy rains so any activity would tear them up and cover the dogs in the clay which is what our ground here is and none of the buildings open directly onto the grass yards.  She was told we would have her pet on them for shorter bathroom breaks and be able to have him inside more often but he liked being with staff and the other dogs and would not be as happy separated.  She didn’t respond verbally but seemed unhappy so I offered her a full refund for the weekend, information for a pet sitter we frequently refer to people or help finding another more suitable kennel.  She refused all of the offers and continued to insist on him staying here. Staff was given instruction on keeping [redacted]’s pet on the grass, on one of our outdoor carpets or keeping him inside whenever possible and, when he did play on the stones, to wash his feet off and apply balm before any nap or rest time.  They all did an excellent job and were very attentive to this pet’s extra needs.  When he was picked up on Sunday evening, I had checked his paws to make sure they were healthy, which they were, and he was walking fine.  [redacted] was told he had been wandering on the stones just before she arrived and was reminded, again, to wash his paws as soon as she had him home. [redacted] called the next day to say his paws were sore and when I asked if she had washed them, she said no.  When I asked why, she didn’t respond.  She asked then for her deposits on future stays to be returned and I assured her that, even with a no-refund policy for deposits, I agreed this was an exception and I would send a check.  When she started to give me specific dates and instructions on what she wanted, I did let her know I was not at the scheduling book and unable to be there right away but I would look up the information as soon as I could.  Later that night, she left a message insulting efforts my staff made to take care of Jake, made offensive references to the general care of all our guests and threatened me with a call of animal abuse if I didn’t send her money right away. I was in the office and responded right away with a call questioning her message, reminded her she had been offered the full refund when she dropped her pet off and a refund on both deposits, as a courtesy, but I have zero tolerance for threats and bullying, I was very disappointed in her reaction and, although I hoped this could still be settled civilly, I would withdraw my refund offer if it was needed for legal consult.  She then went on social media with slander about my staff, my company and me and blocked anyone who added something positive to the entries.

Revdex.com:I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below. Please note the first paragraph from Cameo Kennels is completely false.  She never suggested I walk him in different areas to callus his feet.  This is the first I ever heard of callusing a dogs feet.  She never suggested I wait to pay for future stays, as my check was sent back in January 2017 and cashed within a few days of her receiving my check.  She never offered me a full refund for the weekend...I would have gladly taken that.  Her brochure that I have in my possession does not anywhere state there is a no refund policy....and was never stated to me at any point and time I have been going there.  She never mentioned anything to me about shorter bathroom breaks...nothing!  I would have rather had him indoors and be safe and free from pain and raw feet then outside on stones.  I have written response from a past employee of Stephanies stating that Stephanie knew [redacted] has sensitive feet.  So again, I don't know why she went against my wishes to keep him on grass or crated. When I called her the next morning, Monday May 1st to tell her [redacted] couldn't and wouldn't walk she showed no sympathy at that time....and said she was busy and 'would look into giving me back my refund'.  I waited all day for a return phone call about my deposit refund.  I then called her at 8 pm that night...she said she told me earlier should would give me my refund (she never said that).  So in any case she did agree at 8 pm she would give me my deposit back.  So I then left a bad review on her [redacted] page.  I then called her on Wednesday May 3rd asking where my refund was and that's when she stated because I left a bad review on her FB page I would not be receiving my refund now...instead that money was going to be put towards an attorney.   Last I knew it isn't against the law to put a bad review on someone's [redacted] I was hoping to also settle this civilly.  I want my money back from the January check I sent for $28.00.  I want my money back from the weekend of April 29th $70.00.  I would also like the vet bill taken care of as well.  $53 for office visit as well as $17.20 for pain medication.  Had she done what I asked and kept him on the grass or indoors this would never have happened.  Last year July 2016 she kept [redacted] on the grass for the weekend I was away, and he did just fine on the grass.  No sore paws at all.  Why she chose to not honor my request this time, I will never know.  $168.20 I would like sent to me.  I have enclosed back up documentation.  Vet bill showing cost of visit and meds, second page shows vet notes about her findings.  The other documents are my cashed checks for deposit on future stays as well as the stay on April 29th.Regards,[redacted]
