The Financial Services representative is fairly new and she assumed that the non covered charges were all self administered drugs because our usual process is that the posters post the remit and give the non covered charges to the biller to review if they are not self administered drugs. There was a breakdown in our process which is being addressed and the non covered charges were not reviewed and so the Financial Service representative thought they were self administered drugs due from patient. The Financial Services representative has been counseled that if a patient questions the non covered charges to contact a biller to make sure they are self administered due to the patient.
