NIGHTMARE to cancel, so only sign up if you're in it for life
When I was participating in Camp Gladiator, I mostly enjoyed it. However, after a few months of working out, I started experiencing major medical issues (not related to CG). I was diagnosed with several serious illnesses and thus needed to cancel my membership as I could no longer work out. For context purposes, this was in February. Despite submitting the required paperwork and uploading a doctor's note via chat (which was the only way I was told I could submit the letter) I continued to be charged the monthly fee. I tried numerous times to call the CG number and had to endure extremely lengthy hold times. As a full-time working mom of 3, I have very little extra time in my day to wait on hold. I would press the option to ask for a call back and would never get a call back. Despite several attempts to cancel my membership, I continued to be charged. About 2 months ago, the credit card I had on file was compromised and I had to get a replacement credit card due to fraud. That's when the harassment started. Every single day I receive calls, emails and text from Camp Gladiator telling me I need to contact them to give them a new credit card number so they can process my payment - a payment I wasn't supposed to be paying in the first place due to the documentation I submitted months back. Instead of wasting more time trying to contact CG to give them a new credit card so they could continue endlessly charging me for a membership I wasn't using (because I physically could no longer exercise due to my medical issues) I decided to simply ignore the calls, hoping eventually CG would leave me alone. The texts, emails and calls kept coming and were non-stop. It got to the point where it was borderline harassment. Then, finally this week I received a call, text and email threatening that my unpaid balance would be sent to collections. I have never in my life had anything sent to collections and wasn't about to start now, especially with this. I called yet again and was on hold for a long time - taking time out of my work day to try and handle something that should've been handled months ago. I wait and wait and did not select the option to have someone call me back. I finally got a human and was told that I had to pay a past due balance or they'd send it to collections. They had no record of my calls, emails or direct messages sent through the online page. They had no record of the doctor's note I'd uploaded long ago. Nothing. I was then told that CG cannot accept outside emails. I wish I would've known that because I responded to the CG emails directly at least 5 different times. Then I was told that I would also owe two more months. I explained (again) about the medical situation and was informed that the doctor's notes I've sent previously most likely didn't go through because a very specific wording is required. This was the first I heard of this. So, the CG employee sent me the exact wording that needed to be included. I asked where I could email this note or scan it, upload it, drop it off somewhere - anything. I was told the only way I could send it in was via FAX. Yes, a fax machine. And then, they wouldn't charge me for the next two months. I had no fight left so I decided to go ahead and pay the past due balance despite the fact that if anything CG owes me money. I will yet again get another doctor's note and somehow find a fax machine. Will that work? I have no idea. I'm at my wit's end and you know it has to be bad for me to take even more time out of work to write this yelp review. I don't know what's going on over there, but if you're looking at CG membership, look somewhere else. You will basically never be able to cancel. You'll have to jump through countless hoops, and then jump through more hoops you didn't even know existed. The way they harassed me and wouldn't make any of this right, made me never ever want to work out with CG people again, which is sad because the CG coaches are really nice and I do think it's a good work out. Unless you're ready to commit to paying for a membership for the rest of your life, find another work out community to be a part of.

Billing Issues
Be wary of Camp Gladiator --- it is strange that they have so many complaints, but here, the Better Business Bureau, & other sites. The responses I see are hostile, and rude. Same as the response I got to my complaint with their staff on the phone.

1) my wife & I entered into a 1 year agreement on the exact same date. Yet, I could cancel my subscription today. The company states that you can only cancel by phone (the line is always busy). Additionally, you have to do it seven days before the account renews. That seems to me to be a scam to get you to violate that 7 day rule and continue to charge you.

2) Second, it appears that they over charged us a significant amount. We are still checking, but they began over charging us at the beginning of the agreement & we corrected it. Then they started re-charging us the upcharge amount. I brought this to the companies attention over a month ago & I never got a response.

3) I find their online staff to be rude, and unhelpful, I talked to a person today & she at least got a supervisor to call me. Who was equally rude & absolutely refused to work with me? The person I talked to a month ago was also extremely rude.

4) The supervisor I spoke with today refused to allow me to talk to her supervisor.

I have notified the company by phone & they still refuse to cancel my wife's membership.

I have referred this matter over to the Attorney General of the State of Texas, Consumer Complaint Department.

They keep referring to their contract, but we never got a copy of the contract.

TERRIBLE CO and CUST SERVICE
I tried to cancel my membership and was hung up on, called back and spoke to someone very rude, they won’t accept emails at all and you cannot get a manager to call you back. I cancelled 6 months ago and they’re still charging me. I call every month and have had to dispute every charge w my cc. I still can’t get a supervisor on the phone. I would give 0 stars if that’s was an option.

Terrible Customer Services Makes this One Challenge Not Worth Accepting
Camp Gladiator's independent trainers may be excellent, but the corporation and its philosophy on customer service sadly overshadows the hard-working trainers. I called to cancel my account a head of a deployment to Maxwell Air Force Base, but later found CG continued to charge me. I was able to get a phone operator to cancel my account again and forward me proof, but no one above her was available to even discuss a partial refund. The operator said she discussed the case with her supervisor, but that supervisor couldn't even be troubled to take my call. If in the end i'm liable, so be it, but I deserve, as does every customer, a chance to speak with someone in order to effectively work out what is fair. Doing the research, I'm not the only customer stricken with a deceptive billing situation based on a technicality. CG knows I did not receive services, but cannot be distracted from their attempts to collect all of our hard-earned money to speak to it's customers. Recommend you avoid the headache.

On 4/8/@ 8:PM the camper registered for the BOLD membership using their secure log in information after receiving the first camp for freeThe Terms & Conditions, as attached, must be agreed to before the membership will become activeOur policy also states that all sales are final, however, we made the exception to delay the start date of the camper's free camp to the following camp cycleOnce we moved her free camp back, we also made the exception to authorize a refund of the charges even though our customary policy would be to issue an account credit since we were already making an exception to reschedule the camp datesBecause of the refund that was processed for the 1st payment, the camp has made no purchases towards the camps that were attendedWe would like to accept the camper's request to pay the full price of the camp purchase and allow the camper to cancel out of her contract having met of months.We have submitted this offer through the Revdex.com and also directly with the camper through the email address on the camper's accountWe will move forward once the accepted by the camper

Camper committed to the BOLD membership Terms & Conditions as detailed in attachmentCamper requested early cancellation stating that she was moving out of the country, which we do have an early cancellation clause forWe requested move documents and a cancellation form in accordance with our Terms & ConditionsCamper's travel documents showed her to be out of the country from July-December which, under the Terms of the BOLD membership, would make her eligible for an extended travel freeze but not an early move cancellationWe made the exception to approve the membership for early cancellation anyway, waived the requirement for the cancellation form and made the cancellation effective in April even though the documentation stated July as the start date of her travel plans.At this time we are not offering a refund as we have made the following exceptions to work with this camper: Approved early move cancellation vsextended travel freeze Waived requirement for cancellation form Made cancellation effective months earlier than documentation was approved for

Complaint: [redacted] I am rejecting this response because as a consumer I believe I have the right to refuse to pay for services I am no longer usingWhy can I not be offered an early termination fee like every other business would offer? Why should I continue to pay for a service I can not utilized? There has to be a better way to handle this situationI have asked kindly and my pleas has fallen on deaf ears because at the end of the day it is all about money with you guys and nothing else! I have used [redacted] for my home and now she comes to my business once a week to help out with a special projectShe is on timeShe is thorough and her pricing is reasonableI have been very happy with her services and have recommended her to several friendsMy friends have thanked me for the referral so I think that says a lot

According to our records we have responded to this camper several timesWe are showing that on 12/at 8:am we returned her phone call and got her voice mail where we left a message for her including our contact informationCamper then returned our phone call and was able to speak to a representative at 9:am who advised her of that the membership auto renews on a month to month basis after the minimum commitment has been metWe have attached a copy of the terms and conditions of her membership to this email for review as wellOn 12/at 12:pm we called the camper as she requested via email and again got her voice mailWe have not been in touch with her again since thenWe will send the cancellation form today for her to complete and returnWe will not be able to issued refunds for previous months as our cancellation policy is clearly stated in the terms of service which camper acknowledged upon signing upCamper was also subsequently provided with a copy via email for her reference
