On June 4th ** *** and his wife ordered a cap in our showroom in North PlainfieldThey ordered it to Steve, one of the salesmanThe *** told Steve they have a foot bedThey did not have the truck in North Plainfield the day they ordered the cap and they did not know the color code,
but would call Steve later in the day to give the color code so he could process the orderLater that day they called and gave Steve the color codeSteve then processed the orderTwo weeks later the cap came in, and an appointment was made for the cap to be installedWhen the *** arrived we saw they have a six foot short bed truck, not a eight foot long bedBoth The *** acknowledged that they told Steve they have an foot long bed at the time they ordered the capThey claim that when they gave Steve the color code, they also said that it was a six foot short bed and not a foot long bedSteve has no record of the bed size changeThere's a 40% restocking charge when a cap gets returned to the factoryThe customers are aware of that and because of the restocking fee the *** chose to pick out an inventory cap that we would get painted the same colorApproximately days later we made an appointment to get the new cap installedThe color was a perfect match and we replaced brand-new locks and prop arms on the rear door*** *** pointed out to me a small bend on the rear door frame, some hardware weathered and no screens on the side windowThe painter had removed the screens and shipped them loose to us I gave the *** a bed mat for the rear of their truck ($value) to compensate for the condition of cap and all seemed to be fine when they paid and accepted the capTwo days later I get a phone call from our Florida location saying the *** contacted them and said they were unhappy with the capAnd I immediately called **and *** *** and asked them what's up? *** *** made it clear to me that she's unhappy with this capI explained to her the whole problem is that at the time she ordered the cap she ordered the wrong sizeShe went on to say that she contacted the Revdex.comIn the course of the conversation with her I asked her if she told the Revdex.com that she ordered the wrong size cap ? And and she said noI came up with what I think is a fair solution, and that is either keep the Cap she has on her truck, that she did not pay $additional to have that cap painted, and keep the $bed mat, or I split the 40% restocking fee with them and refund the difference and we move onShe countered that she would pay 10% restocking fee and I rejected her offerThank you, Chris S***
