We purchased a sofa/love seat/chair lounge room set from Airdrie Home Furnishings We were very impressed with the sales staff and in particular with BrianVery helpful and knowledgeableWe were also pleased with the fair and competitive purchase price Unfortunately after delivery we had an issue with the furniture's fabric (a manufacture problem)Brian persevered with the supplier until we were completely satisfied with the outcomeWe received a new set of replacement furniture with a different fabric; we were completely satisfied with Brian's after-sales service Very happy with the outcome We have also purchased a set of reclining lounge chairs for our TV roomVery pleased with this set of furniture I should add that the furniture delivery crew are very professional and careful in delivering and settithe furniture In short, we highly recommend Airdrie Home Furnishings; they have an excellent showroom, wide range of furnishings, competitive prices, and from experience, we know they offer excellent after-sales service and warranty
I wrote this review based on my own experience as well as a friends when we made purchases with Airdrie Home FurnishingsWhen I walked in I was approached by Leonie which I would later find out was the owners wifeShe seemed quite polite and very helpful at first but once we began to negotiate things took a turn for the worstI was initially given a quote for a bedroom set which was on display which she wrote on a cardAfter some thought I decided I would purchase the bedroom set for said priceWhat followed was a minute back and forth of Leonie arguing around the price SHE had written on the card and stating that the numbers she was getting on her calculator were different from my phone calculator? During the ordeal, she was extremely rude and disrespectfulAfter she called her husband, another sales associate (Ross) intervened and we finally came to an agreementI was told that the set I had chosen was priced based on not purchasing the mattress or box spring and would take approximately weeks to custom build/stain/delivered/installedFast forward months to delivery dayI was not able to be present for the delivery so my father accepted the deliveryAs it turns out I was sent the wrong bed set, the set I had purchased was one with storage drawers built into the frame (or so I thought as any other option wasn't shown, discussed or offered)I called and was given attitude immediately from Leonie, stating "Oh I remember youYou were the one who was on a budget." She proceeded to tell me that if I wanted the frame with drawers it would be an additional $and they only charged me for standard bed rails." She then hung up on me after I tried to explain that this was not the item I had agreed toRealizing that I wasn't going to get anywhere with Leonie, I decided to go to the head of the company and deal with Bryan, Airdrie Home Furnishings OwnerFeeling taken advantage of as a young adult, my mother and I ended up going back to the store and once again had an awful encounter with Leonie, she was unwilling to discuss the mother than it would cost me an additional $700, was disrespectful and in my opinion unprofessionalI was told that due to the fact I had a budget the order was placed based on what my budget would allowBoth my mother and I were constantly spoken over and ridiculed for taking the dealIt was only after things escalated to shouting that we finally ended up reluctantly getting the owners cell number (Bryan)
After speaking with Bryan we came to an arrangement to meet half way and pay $for the storage drawer option(I originally was led to believe that this was what I had ordered and the discount was due to the fact that I was NOT purchasing the mattress and box spring.) He told us it would again be approximately weeks to be custom madeOnce Again, I waited the suggested weeksweeks later, after persistent weekly badgering, un-returned phone calls and text messages, still wondering where my drawers were, all while having this incomplete bedroom set which I let collect dust for fear of another issueWe were told by Bryan that the drawers should be at the warehouse and he'd check the status on itAfter a few days we still heard nothingWe had to initiate contact once again and were then told no, they're not in yet and he would let us know once it arrived to arrange deliveryAnother week goes by and my mother called got the number to the warehouse and called and was then told that until they received the final paperwork/payment delivery would not occurNever once did we receive a call from the store, the owner or the warehouse stating the item was now in for delivery but needed paperwork processedMy mother offered to pay with a credit card over the phone and she was told she would have to go to the store to make the final paymentShe then called the store and was again told that payment was not accepted over the phone until they realized who in fact was calling and then proceeded to take the payment (yes over the phone)Finally after a months wait, I received my drawers to complete the set I had purchased months ago.*** *** *** *** The common factor seems to be Leonie in all the situations I have heard about, her attitude towards customers and her demeaning tone is unacceptable, as owner of this establishment I would think twice about having a person like her be the face of my companyAll in all, I cannot understand how, a place that conducts business like this has managed to stay in afloat so long combined with the atrocious customer service Leonie provided and Bryan's inconsistent promisesI can only hope this review can be seen by enough people and Airdrie Home Furnishings to change the way they do business
