Camper Care Reviews (1)

Initial Business Response /* (1000, 8, 2015/09/09) */
When[redacted] brought her 2003 Fourwinds Express travel trailer to Camper Care to have repairs made to the rear end. The camper had extensive water damage due to poor maintenance. While[redacted] was explaining what she would like to have...

done to the back of the unit, she also stated that the front of the unit and the floor had water damage as well but due to cost, she was only going to have the back repaired at this time.
While the unit was on our lot, there was a small mishap and the unit was scratched. The scratch was near the rear of the unit and it was approximately 4 inches in length. That was the only damage that occurred on Camper Care's lot. The unit, was littered with dings and dents before it came to Camper Care. The accusation made by[redacted] that the scratch went from the front of the camper all the way down the side, is completely inaccurate.
We have provided[redacted] with two written estimates on how Camper Care would like to remedy the situation. The first option would be for Camper Care to install an outside shower on[redacted]'s unit. Not only would the scratch disappear completely, but it would also add value to the unit. The outside shower is a very popular option on units. The second option that we could do on the Fourwinds would be to change the one piece of metal that has been scratched while at Camper Care. By changing the metal, the two paint colors on the new and old metal will not be identical. The new metal will be crisp white while the older metal is dull from the sun and also from not being properly maintained and stored. Whichever remedy that[redacted] would choose to have done, Camper Care will perform the work and cover the entire cost of the repair, as long as we do the work. The cost for Camper Care to remedy the situation will be $100-$150.
In regards to[redacted] stating that the work that she asked Camper Care to perform on her unit was not fully complete, is falsified information. When[redacted] called into Camper Care to check the status of her unit; she stated that she received a coupon from another RV dealership to get her camper's roof cleaned and treated for $200.[redacted] then asked for a quote from Camper Care to preform the same task. Danielle explained to[redacted] that it would take Camper Care a couple hours to clean the roof and apply the conditioner and would cost approximately $230- $240 to complete the work.[redacted] verbally agreed to have Camper Care clean and treat the roof. Camper Care went above and beyond and sealed[redacted]'s roof with Dicor where needed for no additional charge to help prevent the unit from leaking further. Never was it agreed upon to completely scrape and reseal the entire unit. To reseal a unit and do it correctly, you must scrape the old caulk off, clean the area and re caulk it. [redacted]'s unit was covered in old caulk. The windows alone had approximately a half of inch of silicone surrounding them and the front of the unit was rotting and splitting at the seams, if we tried to remove the old caulk, the whole front of the camper would most likely come apart. The front of the unit is being held together by a few screws. To reseal the unit, it would have taken Camper Care an additional 7-8 hours in labor and cost approximately $650.00.
Camper Care completed all of the work that was asked to be performed. We even stuck to the original quote that we presented[redacted] when she dropped her unit off. Even though once we removed the skin on the back of the unit, the water damage was much more severe than originality estimated.[redacted] was quoted that it would take 8 hours to perform the work on the back end of her Fourwinds Travel Trailer. Once we removed the skin and determined the wood rot to be substantially more extensive then originally quoted, we knew it was going to take more time to correct the issue and to do it properly. Not only was the back wall rotting, but the front and the side of the units had extensive water damage as well. The job took us well over 10 hours but Camper Care only charged[redacted] the quoted 8 hours, saving her over $175.00 on labor alone.
Camper Care has been in business for over 35 years. In all of that time, we have only had one previous experience where a unit was damaged on our lot. In that situation, we corrected the mistake and the customer was very satisfied with the outcome. Camper Care stands behind the work that we perform and we go to great lengths to satisfy our customers. We tried to rectify the situation with[redacted] but she has been very uncooperative and abrasive on the phone. We are willing to do the work for[redacted] if she so well choose and again, Camper Care would cover the cost of the repair for the mishap that happened on our lot.
