Complaint: [redacted] I am rejecting this response because: floor was not wet when tech came to fix furnace for no heat---water came after he left and there is no rust as claimed It was not a slight leak as indicated Regards, ***

On October 13, Mid-State arrived at Mr***'s home for a “no heat” service visitAt which time the technician had observed a bad circuit board in his furnaceOn October 16, 2014, Mid-State returned and replaced the circuit board at which time the furnace was operating properlyMr***
advises the technician that he removes the drain tube from time to time to replace the filter in the furnaceThe part, the circuit board was covered under the parts warrantyOn or about November 21, Mr*** notifies us of a water leak emanating from your furnaceOur technician arrived on the same day and determined that the drain tube to the condensate trap was missing a clamp and a small drip was presentThe technician took photo’s of the furnace and flooring in the surrounding areaThe photo's reveal that the furnace appears to have been leaking for some time as the bottom of the furnace has visible rust across the base platformPrior to last month's service visit we have not been present at the home since August of If proper maintenance had been performed throughout the years this crisis would have been avertedThe system is a highly technical piece of equipment that has many moving parts and requires maintenance for general cleaning as well as safety inspections to determine all the functions of the furnace are operating properlyA failure to do so could jeopardize the proper operation of the system as well as the warranty with the manufacturer due to the lack of maintenanceWhile we sympathize with your frustrations on this issue, proper maintenance would have avoided this

Mid-State installed the unit on Mid-State has had a total of (4) service calls since the initial installationThe first on which was a failed inspection from the township with regard to insulation on the flue piping, the second was an air conditioning maintenance on
@ which time there was no mention of freon or leaks, the service technician made no notes of such things, the third was a heat maintenance on his heating system on 10.11.2012, and the fourth and final visit was a service call on for a failed part on the heating system, a draft inducer motor failed, the customer was upset that he had to pay for labor on the call which was past the year he purchased originallyWe have no data or mentions of leaking freon or issues that *** *** claimsNo calls to our office since May of This is now May of 2015, the client has no labor warranty as the warranty expired in The only coverage the customer has would be if a component in the condenser, furnace or coil has failed, at which time he would be awarded only the part that failed and would still be liable for labor charges and supporting material charges*** *** part warranty is set to expire on At this point *** *** can obtain service from any *** *** he desires and he would be liable for all applicable labor charges and accessory itemsMid-State has no liability for a refrigerant leak on his system, his labor warranty has expired, he has been using other organizations to service his system since we installed the product which violates our contract as we have no idea if the servicing contractor(s) have created a problem where one did not existWe consider this matter closed
