Initial Business Response /* (1000, 8, 2017/08/09) */
Mr. [redacted] checked in on 7/15/17 at 1:42 pm. He paid cash [redacted] for a tent site with electric for 5 nights.
Sunday, July 16
Mr. [redacted] was observed smoking in the bathhouse. The janitorial staff saw and smelled smoke coming from the...

shower stall that he was in. They waited for him to exit the bathhouse and informed him that there was no smoking in any of the campground facilities. He laughed and said "yeah, right". They reported this incident to the managers.
Monday, July 17
As the managers were taking a ride on their golf cart back to the gate trail, they observed Mr. [redacted] driving out of the trail in his vehicle. They stopped him and informed him that vehicles were not permitted on the trails.
As the managers exited the trails from Hidden Pond, they observed Mr. [redacted] walking out of the trail with his vehicle parked across on an empty site. He stopped them and them that the Hidden Pond was not handicapped accessible and that his wife was handicapped and those were her plates on their vehicle and that she was also carrying 4 babies. He then said that he had just walked that trail and it would take her 45 minutes to walk it because she would have to stop and rest. The managers again explained to him that vehicles were not allowed on the trails, but the main fishing/swimming pond was easily accessible. He then complained that there were not the same fish in both ponds and he really wanted to catch the catfish that were in Hidden Pond. The managers apologized, but again stated that they could drive a golf cart or walk back to Hidden Pond, but they couldn't take their vehicle, or they could fish out of the main pond.
Tuesday, July 18
Mr. [redacted] called Atwood Lake Campground to complain.
Message received from [redacted] at Atwood Lake Campground:
[redacted], I just received a call from [redacted] he is camping at Camp Sack In on lot [redacted] Him as well as his wife are handicapped. He has complaints about Hidden Pond and why golf carts are allowed back there. He would like someone to call him about this issue his phone number is XXX-XXX-XXXX. Thank you [redacted]
The managers spoke with the owner and told him what was happening. The owner left it up to the managers whether or not to ask them to leave or to let them finish out their stay for the time they had paid for.
The managers decided to let Mr. [redacted] stay and went to their camp site to discuss what was going to happen. Mr. [redacted] was told that they would be allowed to finish up their stay to July 20. He was told that they would not extend his stay past that date.
Wednesday, July 19
Mr. [redacted] knocked on the managers door at approximately 9:30 pm and wanted to extend his stay. He was again told that we would not extend his stay and that he would need to be checked out by noon.
He then called Atwood Lake Campground again.
Thursday, July 20
Mr. [redacted] came into the office and said that he was packing his belongings and that what he couldn't haul out by noon his "friend" would bring to him. The friend did not take him the rest of his items and Mr. [redacted] came in early that evening to retrieve the rest of his belongings and left.
Showers:
They were having trouble with the metering valve at the bathhouse. There was one evening when the bathhouse was closed so they could clean the valve. The water was shut off at this time. Mr. [redacted] asked about using the toilet. He was told the bathhouse would be open in approximately 30 minutes, but there are outhouses if someone needed the restroom. They pointed out the two outhouses that he had just passed and explained where several more were located.
Pond:
There are turtles in the pond, but have never had any complaints about the turtles disturbing anyone. The turtles usually hide whenever people are near.
The managers do not do drugs and are very attentive to the campers and do a great job.
Initial Consumer Rebuttal /* (3000, 10, 2017/08/10) */
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
Well I was never told anything bout me smoking in the restroom they said the guy that was staying with me was smoking but neither one of us smoked in there, and when the manager came to my camp site he never said anything to any of us about extending our stay I paid for 6 days and the 7 was free, and when I went to there house at 7:30 pm that's when the guy told me he was suppose to kick us out,and about the hidden pond it's not handycapt accessable and the turtles done leave you along go look for your self and for the managers drinking and doing drugs I seen it with my own eyes and smelled it as well,I want my money back for being harressed everyday I was there by them,I want a full refund and drug test done on them and everybody will see that I'm not liking the signs say no alcohol on property but they sure do everyday and the manager don't stay in the office like SHE is suspended to do she stays in her house her boyfriend isn't the manager and he shouldn't be telling anybody to do anything at all ,,I WANT my money back and for the showers they were off for more then 24 hours because they were out of gas for the hot water
