. They take your money. My whole trip bought trip insurance (with proof) to only find out that Campus Vacations never submitted our claims. So we never had insurance for down south even though we bought it. Don't even get me started on their COVID procedures. We all wanted to cancel our trip because we were not allowed to even get into Cuba due to COVID. They told us that we were forfeiting the trip and would get no refund even though we could not legally get in since borders were closed. There is a long list of issues that myself and my whole trip of 100+ have with Campus Vacations, mainly the insurance issue. If something had happened down south they would be 100% liable because we did indeed purchase the insurance, but they did not put it through.

My daughter booked a trip for spring vacation with Campus Vacations. The destination was Punta Cana for March 16th, 2019. Due to unexpected financial reasons she needs to cancel her trip. She has been payments on a regular basis totaling $1,125 so far. The balance is due in full by December 7, 2018.

She has contacted Campus Vacations to cancel and request a refund. She was told that the cancellation policy is no cash refunds. She was offered a trip credit for a future trip only. I have confirmed this is the stated policy outlined on their website. However in addition to being unreasonable policy, it is actually both unfair and discriminatory. My daughter knows of other students who booked the exact same trip, but only paid the $75 deposit. If these these students cancel, they are subject only to the loss of their $75 deposit. How can this be legal to have different cancellation policies for the same trip? This is ***, penalizing those who make payments vs those who pay at the last minute.

I am requesting my daughter be treated no differently than the other students who only loose the $75 deposit. A refund of $1050.00

Campus Vacations provides group travel experiences for University and College Students over 18 years old. As the client confirmed, our Terms & Conditions, containing our cancellation policy, are available and were signed at the time of bookings. The client's primary objection is that they feel they are being treated unfairly, as passengers who only paid the deposit and did not follow the monthly payment plan are only losing their deposit in case of cancellation. However, as outlined in our terms and conditions below, any client who misses 2 months of payments no longer has an active spot on our trip. In order to return on the trip once missing 2 payments, if there is room on the trip and the trip has not sold out, they must pay the balance to catch up to payments and are subject to paying a higher overall price for the trip.

PAYMENT DUE DATES
All of our trips are broken into easy-to-pay monthly installments with the balance payment due three months prior to the departure date. Payment dates are displayed during the online booking process. Registered passengers can find their specific payment schedule under the Payment Info tab of My Profile. All monthly payments are mandatory, failure to make a payment may result in losing your place on the trip and/or your early booking price. Late payments may also be subject to a late fee. You need to make all payments according to the payment schedule in order to ensure your space on the trip.

Regardless of the time of canceling we do not offer monetary refunds unless the amount paid exceeds the amount due based on the monthly payment plan. In that case, the excess would be refunded toward the original method of payment. Even though we do not offer monetary refunds, we do offer the following:

1) At the time of booking, all clients are encouraged to purchase comprehensive travelers insurance (which includes cancellations insurance), if they wish to remove this from their packages they need to actively decline the insurance.

2) At the time of cancellation, if insurance was declined, or their claim was resolved unfavorably by the insurance provider, we issue Trip Dollars equal to the amount they have paid. 1 Trip Dollar is equivalent to $1 that may be used towards a trip with Campus Vacations. Trip dollars can be used for 5 years following the canceled trip.

3) Finally, as long as the trip is canceled within 30 days of departure, we are able to offer a name change. This is always up to the approval of our suppliers, the airlines, resorts or other tour providers. If approval is granted, we can replace the name of the existing canceling passenger with a new passenger. The canceling passenger must find and work with the new passenger to ensure that they book and pay for their trip up to the same amount paid by the canceling passenger. Once the new passenger has paid for their spot in the trip, Campus Vacations will refund the canceling passenger onto their original method of payment.

Campus Vacations tries to work with each client that needs to cancel their trip with us, however, we are limited to the terms and conditions placed on us by our various suppliers.

Campos Vacations has failed to adequately justify two very different penalties for cancelling the very same trip. How can they reconcile penalizing one student only $75 and another student over $1100 for cancelling the same trip? This is clearly a *** refund policy. Campos Vacations engages in predatory business practices, praying on young students. Customer satisfaction is obviously not a priority at Campos Vacations. Buyer beware!
