Review: On March 31,2015 me and my wife came to CanDo gym in [redacted] to see the specials that the gym was offering. I was speaking to [redacted] a membership advisor who said that a gym has a special which is a month to month membership without a contract for previous members. Since I used to be a member of this gym, I was offered a month to month membership with monthly charge of $84.23. The advisor [redacted] said that my wife is entitled to the same deal and she will get an additional $10 off which would bring her monthly charge to $73.83. We asked multiple times to make sure this offer is month to month base no contract and she assured as that we can cancel it at any time since there was no long term contract. Afterwords when my bank statement came I saw multiple charges on my card one of them was $450, the rest 2 charges of $84.53 and one charge of $73.83. I called them and they were not able to explain the charges so I went to gym and ask for [redacted] but she wasn't there, so I asked for a manager, mr.[redacted] came to speak to me, I showed him the copies of my bank statements and he checked the charges from their computer and he said there was a mistake made because he said he doesn't see the charges from his side, so he advised to open a dispute with my bank. So I called bank and I asked them are these charges made by cando and they confirmed it. Mr. [redacted] said he will call me back but he never did so I had to go to the gym again to dispute the charges with them and see if this time I could get the clear answer from them, unfortunately they were unable to tell me where the charges came from. Ms [redacted] gave as false statement saying that our membership would be month to month base, my card is charged for my wife's year contract which we did not sign for. She gave us electronic pad to sign and explain that it is the same deal that we are getting which is month to month. They scammed us so I want people to be aware of the type of business they are doingDesired Settlement: I want to cancel the membership and be refunded the charges on my card that shouldn't be there,they false advertising and be punished for their false advertising and for luring people by false statement.

Review: Dear Revdex.com, I have been a CanDo member for a few years and I stopped membership as of Feb 2010 because I was expatriating to Manila, Philippines for the next (4) years to complete my MD degree. I left Feb 28, 2010. I returned just last year Apr 2014 after completing my MD degree. Prior to my departure, I made sure that ALL my active accounts were closed or aware of my move. I have spoken at length with the manager then and forwarded a letter with my intent to move and my rationale prior to leaving. This was early Feb 2010. All the while, I thought that everything was taken care of. I was told that it was alright to cancel my membership as I was moving more than 25 miles away for education/schooling. I received a debt collection notice dated 10/20/2015 from this establishment for $1117.54. This is the first time to receive a debt collection that I had to verify with credit agencies and true enough, it is the only item on my otherwise "empty" credit history. I have never had debt collection before and I now realize how it affected my credit since I recently bought a vehicle. I would appreciate any help or assistance in clarifying my responsibility to this amount/contract and clearing this debt from my credit history.Desired Settlement: I would appreciate any help or assistance in clarifying / relinquishing my responsibility to this amount/contract and clearing this debt from my credit history.
