Complaint[redacted]On 29-Apr-2016, at approximately 16:30, I had a [redacted] tonneau cover installed on my 2014 [redacted] truck by Canada Truck Accessories at the North Gate Mall in Regina, Sk. On 29-Apr-2016, at approximately 17:45, while inspecting the tonneau cover at home, I discovered an oval / round piece of vinyl, the size of a dime or nickel, ripped off of the cover. This is very noticeable when standing in the back of the truck and less noticeable while standing beside the truck as the truck is lifted. Also, I noticed that I did not receive a UPC code during the business transaction, which is required for the $75.00 mail in rebate. On 29-Apr-2016, at approximately 17:55, I called Canada Truck Accessories and and explained to [redacted] the two issues I had discovered with our business transaction. At first he claimed that I just needed to clean the spot in question on the vinyl cover as there may have been something stuck to the vinyl due to the way the cover is packaged. After explaining to him that the layer of vinyl was actually missing from the cover, he assured me that there was "no problem." He said he would provide me with a UPC code when I came into the store the following week on my days off of work and that he would order me a replacement vinyl cover, which would also be installed when I came in to the store. On 11-May-2016, at approximately 15:50, this writer went back to Canada Truck Accessories to have my replacement tonneau cover installed and to get a UPC code as was agreed upon / promised by [redacted]. [redacted] informed this writer that he had my replacement vinyl cover in the back of the store, but that he was the only one working, so he could not leave the store to install it. I then asked him when I can get the vinyl cover replaced, which he refused to answer.Instead of informing me the best time(s) to come back and get the replacement vinyl cover replaced, [redacted] started asking me where I parked and stated that he would need to take pictures for warranty purposes. I explained to him that my truck was parked close to his store and that he was welcome to come out and take pictures. This was not good enough for him as he was working alone and wanted me to move my truck in front of the doors. Understanding that he was working alone and seeing that he was uncomfortable leaving his store unattended, I showed him the pictures of the damage on my cell phone. [redacted] explained to me that he would still need to take pictures in order to send them to [redacted] for warranty, which I had no problem with. However, at this point, [redacted] would still not inform this writer when I could come back and have pictures taken and get the replacement vinyl cover installed (e.g. when two staff would be working). This writer then responded by saying that if he was refusing to replace the vinyl cover and provide me with a UPC code for the mail in rebate, that I wanted a full refund. At this point, [redacted] got angry and responded by accusing his writer of arguing with him and further stated that he was "done." [redacted], while still angry, then provided a false statement to this writer by claiming that I saw the vinyl cover in the store before it was installed, which was untrue as I gave him my truck keys and left the store to walk around the mall, while his co-worker ([redacted]) got the tonneau cover in question from the back of the store, and installed it on my 2014 [redacted]. I never had a chance to inspect the tonneau cover until after it was installed on my 2014 [redacted]. [redacted] continued by stating that I was on my own to contact [redacted] to resolve the issue and threatened to call mall security if I did not leave his store. After informing him that there was no integrity in his business practices, this writer left the aforementioned store and mall.Desired SettlementCanada Truck Accessories installed a damaged vinyl tonneau cover on this writer's 2014 [redacted] and provided this writer with a form for a $75.00 mail in rebate without the necessary UPC code, which is required for the rebate. Until the damaged vinyl cover is replaced as promised by the store employee ([redacted]) and a UPC code is provided for the mail in rebate (also as promised by [redacted]), this business transaction will remain incomplete. If Canada Truck Accessories refuses to replace the damaged vinyl cover in question and provide a UPC code to this writer for the mail in rebate, the only other acceptable resolution is a full refund.Business Response Installed [redacted] tonneau cover for customer.Customer phoned a few days later saying there was a defect in cover.ordered customer new cover sight unseen.Advised customer to phone and arrange time for cover to be swaped out.customer came into store appx 1 week later.advised customer new cover was here waiting for him,but that I could not install it right then as I was the only one working .customer showed me pictures of something on his phone was difficult to make out.Advised customer I would just need to run out and take a few pictures so I could submit them to manufacturer for warranty.(standard practice with all warranty claims)customer became extremely agitated..asked customer where he was parked.he stated he was parked far from back door..asked customer if he could pull up to back door as I could not leave store unattended for too long..customer became even more agitated and began arguing and makeing a scene in the mall.Advised customer I would not tolerate that type of treatment and that I would call security if it continued.customer still arguing..told customer we are done here and that his option was to contact the manufacturer [redacted] industries directly for his warranty claim.customer left saying he was going to contact Revdex.com. I said go ahead As I tried to do everything right for him. We have the upc code needed for customer to claim rebate at the store and would be happy to mail it to him. However he will have to contact [redacted] industries for his warranty claim as the cover we installed was brand new in the box and when I questioned our installer he never noticed any blemishes in the cover..we were just going to replace it with the hopes we could claim warranty for him..We normally don't replace warranty claims until it has been approved by manufacturer..we were willing to make an exception in this customers case..however after he acted in this manner we are no longer willing to make this exception.. I will attach upc code to this file for him.Consumer Response "INSTRUCTIONS: Please follow the instructions listed below completely and accurately in order to qualify for the rebate. To receive your rebate by mail from [redacted], you MUST:- Buy any [redacted] or Revolver X2 truck bed cover between 4/1/16 and 6/30/16 from a participating retailer/installer.- Fully complete the mail-in redemption form- Attach your original sales receipt*- Attach the original UPC from the product"A digital photo of a UPC code is not the physical "original UPC" code required by [redacted] for the $75.00 rebate. I need the physical "original UPC" code cut out from the box in order to mail it in to [redacted] for the rebate, which is clearly stated in their strict instructions.I clearly need the original physical code (not a digital copy), so I can physically mail it to [redacted] for the rebate. A digital copy is not the same as the physical "original UPC" required by [redacted].Final Consumer Response (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)"HE CAN PICK UPC CODE UP OR SUBMIT ADDRESS WHERE IT CAN BE MAILED."This proposed resolution is inadequate for the following reasons:1) Canada Truck Accessories did not provide this writer with an email address that the customer can send the mailing address to.2) Canada Truck Accessories did not provide this writer with an adequate solution (or any at all for that matter) regarding the damaged [redacted] tonneau cover that the business in question installed on my 2014 [redacted] on 29-Apr-2016 at approximately 16:00-16:30.[redacted] Canada Truck Accessories replaces the damaged tonneau cover or provides this writer with a full refund ($1,155.00), [redacted]Final Business Response Again we installed a brand new cover outta the box..installer did not notice any damage at the time of install and indicated damage may have occurred afterward customer can contact [redacted] directly re: warranty as cover has one year manufacturer warranty..@ [redacted].Again customer has till the end of june to submit for rebate and form can be mailed or picked up in store.

Canada Truck Center ordered the front fender trim for my truck. It was the wrong product and defaced the chrome on my bumper.I went to Canada Truck Center on September 23,2015. [redacted] was to have Canada Truck Center replace the grill, panel, fender trim. I noticed [redacted] had placed the wrong fender trim package on my truck, I showed him the same day.[redacted] admitted he placed the wrong package on my truck and said he would order the correct package in, and put it on when it arrived.[redacted] advised me it would be ok to keep the same on until he could change it. I sent [redacted] pictures of the damage this caused my bumper and he replied that he is going to see what he can do. I had not heard from [redacted] for a couple weeks.[redacted] said he was going to replace the bumper on my truck because there is no way of fixing it, now [redacted] ignores this situation.Desired SettlementI am seeking a new bumper. I went to [redacted] and was advised the bumper can not be fixed, it has to be replaced.Business Response customer purchased products at the store stated he wanted fender trim installed on his new truck. Advised customer against putting fender trim on a new truck as it creates a place for dirt and debris to get trapped and could cause rust and paint damage .customer insisted he wanted it installed.Gave customer two options for fender trim, one was significantly more expensive customer opted for the cheaper option. As it was a brand new product we had never installed this particular part # before.Installed product along with numerous other items that day.Customer picked up truck later that day and payed in full, customer was happy with the look of all the accessories installed that day Customer phoned a few days later stating he was unhappy with the fit of the fender trim. Told him I would order in the other more expensive option and swap it out,and only charge the cost difference between the two no labour charge.received the new product the following business day, phoned customer to arrange the change over.customer did not get us the truck for the changeover until 3 weeks later.Did the changeover, installer noticed that there was an appx 3" scuff where the old fender trim had rubbed against customers bumper.Stated to customer I would send pictures to supplier informing them of a possible manufacturing defect in the fender trim and the damage caused.supplier stated I could return the fender trim to them but there was nothing they could do about the damage to the bumper. Continued to try and get credit for customer from both supplier and manufacturer towards damage with no result.Informed customer we would do our best to try and fix bumper.customer refused and insisted on a brand new bumper.Contacted supplier to see if a factory replacement bumper for customers truck was available.Supplier stated one was not available at this time as they have not been released to the aftermarket yet.Again told customer we would do our best to try and fix bumper.Customer was not satisfied.....Consumer Response (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)[redacted] at Canada Truck Center was trusted to place the proper molding on my truck and did not. They put the molding on the truck and they are the ones who left the molding on the truck. The real reason they didn't take the molding off that same day is because they said they didn't want to go back to the other location, in a different area of Regina. [redacted] said leave it on your truck and when the correct molding comes in we will put it on your truck, in the mean time it damaged my bumper. At the end of the day, they put the molding on, left it on and damaged my bumper.Final Business Response It Is unfortunate that this customers bumper was damaged however the customer is unwilling to take any responsibility for leaving the molding on for three weeks or to acknowledge the risks involved with putting such molding on the truck.Again the customer was advised against putting the molding on in the first place. The customer was also unwilling to let us attempt to fix the bumper and demanded a brand new bumper.we feel this is an unreasonable request to demand a new bumper for a three inch scratch..
