Today’s automobiles are technician marvels. They have become
so complex that most Automotive Technicians specialize on only specific parts
of the vehicle. There can be different possible causes to any one problem,
especially in the computer controlled systems. All of Auto P. I. Used Car...

Inspectors
have achieved the highest accreditation, an ASE Certified Master Technician. Auto
P. I. Inspectors are certified on every component and system of the vehicle and
each has over 30 years’ experience on both foreign and domestic vehicles.Auto P. I. stands behind our pre-purchase inspection 100%.Auto P. I. inspected a 2009 Mazda CX7 for our customer (the
buyer) on 12/3/2015. When our Inspector arrived, a person introduced himself as
“Andre” said he owned the vehicle, and gave us the keys. We don’t know “[redacted]”
the person that complained to the Revdex.com.  According
the TX DVM, the registered owner of the vehicle is Simone Carvalho not [redacted]
or Andre. When our ASE Certified Master Technician arrived at the
inspection location, Andre was adamant in telling our Inspector that he just
had multiple items repaired on the vehicle at the dealership including the
engine’s internal timing chain.  After the inspection, our inspector tried to explain to Andre
that our pre-purchase inspection process would not affect the performance of
any component or system especially causing any “damage to the electronics” by using
jumper cables on the battery.According to the 2009 Mazda CX7 owner’s manual, it is recommended
not to connect the
jumper cable to the negative (-) terminal of the discharged battery. The reason
is to reduce the chance of a spark which could cause any gas created by a bad
battery to explode and injure someone. Nowhere in the owner’s manual does say
or suggest that connecting both charging cables to the battery will harm “the
electronics.”  All manufactures recommend
that the general public connect the negative cable to a ground point
away from the battery to avoid possible injury. Trained professionals are aware of this possible ignition
and the signs of a battery leaking which would produce explosive gas. Many vehicles are equipped with dust panels covering parts
of the engine compartment. The ASE Master Certified Technician must remove the
dust covers over the engine compartment to expose component and systems which
then can be then inspected for leaks, damage, worn parts, etc… Removing and
replacing these panels in no way affects the performance of the vehicle. Part
of the inspection process is to plug into the onboard diagnostic computer to read
any stored or active fault codes. Reading the codes on the onboard diagnostic
computer does not affect the performance of the vehicle.Another part of the pre-purchase inspection is to testing all
the electrical accessories and components. Testing these systems will draw a
small amount of power from a normal battery but will quickly recharge once
started. However, the battery on this vehicle was very weak which was later
confirmed by a battery load tester. Testing the electrical accessories drained
the weak battery and the Master Technician had to jump start the vehicle with a
standard jump box. On the test drive, the vehicle traveled down the same street
about ¼ mile and then stopped (not half a mile away from his home as Andre
stated). The Inspector spent an addition 45 minutes (of his own time) trying to
diagnose the problem but could not due to the defective battery. The battery could
not supply the 12 volts needed for the proper operation of the electrical systems. When Andre called our office, he immediately became obstinate
and kept telling us we were responsible and had to fix the vehicle. I tried to
explain to him again the same information our Inspector gave to him earlier in
the field. The defective battery was not producing the 12 volts necessary to
operate the vehicle and may be the cause why the vehicle would start and then
shut off. I and the Inspector both informed Andre that until a new battery was
installed, no one could determine if something other than the battery was
causing the problem.Auto P. I. stands behind our inspections 100%. If a new battery is installed, and the problem still exists,
Auto P. I. would be happy to pay for the repair if it was caused by our
inspection process. However, the vehicle must be taken to a reputable repair
facility and an ASE Certified Master Technician must diagnose the (start-stop) problem
and give documentation to Auto P. I. that our inspection process caused the
problem. If the problem was not caused by our inspection, I would
hope that Andre would apologize to our Inspector and thank him for spending 45
minutes of his time trying to help him.

Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because: I contacted john (owner) to let him know that I was out on 517.00 after his technician play with my working vehicle and left it on the street, also I explained that a electrical sensor was the only damaged part and it only happen after his tech play and drove the car leaving one block away from my house. regardless, on his thinking process I had my working vehicle until he start connecting his tools to test frying this sensor, they should bring the vehicle back to the working state, I spent money towing the car, paying diagnostic, labor and battery total of 517,00. After explain all I told him that we will resolve easily or taking to court but I am not going to lose this amount, he refused to provide his legal business name and address trying to avoid the lawsuit.Beside how came he says on his site to be Revdex.com when his business name can not be located on the database?

Regards,
