Due to coincidental poor service and contract law offense I experiences damagesRecently I moved from Toronto to EdmontonI used service provided by Canada Us Van LinesApproximately two weeks in advance the company provided me with estimate and sent confirmation of my order by emailAny additional details, waivers, terms and conditions were not providedThe "contract" was given to me just after all my staff was loaded into the truckConsidering that my staff was already loaded and it was the day before I had to move out from the place I had no choice except to sign the "contract"Unfortunately, during transportation my furniture was severely damaged (approxvalue $2000), all screws and vacuum cleaner were not delivered, my bikes were damagedI informed Customer Service about this issue (except bikes, because I found these damages only weeks later)They let me know that by contract they have no liability for damages to my staff and that I have not bought any insuranceBe a

You have to pay your balance and get your shipment, it's very clear

Initial Consumer Rebuttal /* (3000, 10, 2015/12/21) */
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
When I arranged with this company a delivery date was never confirmed as I told them between the tenth and twentieth I would let them know as I would receive security deposit back to cover the that was quoted on the 11th I was told that it was plus the deposit my weight was over lbs on a thousand lb quote however prior quote based on lbs was only 1150.00$ or so they said They then said they would rescale and let me know I never heard back and called on the 18th I was told I had to take it that night I told them that it made no sense they then threatened to dump my stuff on yard in vedmonton ...*** they told me the next day to send an email that said I would take on the 26th I had money and called them but they wanted more cash I told them after their threat I would only pay on delivery as per terms of agreement and she said the truck went out anyway without my stuff cuz I never sent more moneyWhen I called back I was spoken to very rudely by this David again and he said come get it here then I said I would send my sons to collect it then he said he wanted more dollars *** I am not comfortable sending them cash*** so I asked for address was only given business hours and told they responded to the claim which they had notI am arranging myself a mover or having my sons pick it up but I need a firm address ***

Complaint: ***
I am rejecting this response because:According to the contract I paid for the delivery of my staff to Edmonton, but my staff was not delivered in a condition acceptable for further use (lost nuts, lost bolt, lost washers)Moreover, my bed and table was severely damagedI asked specialists if caused damage may be repairedUnfortunately, damage may be fixed only with visible defectsThat decreased value of my furniture almost to zeroOn top of that, my vacuum cleaner was lost as wellTo sum up, I did not receive service I paid forAccording to the contract, company offered close to nothing liability: $per pound with a $deductible => approxlbs, i.ecompany expected damaging or losing approximately up to one-third of my staff without any compensationIt means, CanadaUsVanLines had no possibility to perform the contractLoss or damage of approximately one-third of staff could not be considered as an ability to perform a given promise. Obviously, no reasonable person would sign a contract like thisI believe, for this reason company did not disclose full contract until the very last momentI would like to emphasize that I saw this contract for the first time only after my staff was fully loaded into the truck. I was neither informed about all conditions by email nor by phone in advance though I contacted the company two weeks before the departureConsidering that the moving company representatives were informed about my departure date they may reasonably assume I would have had no opportunity to refuse from signing even this contract at the very last momentLiterally I was forced to sign this contractIn conclusion, the company had no ability to perform promised service (many poor feedbacks in the Internet support my point) and got the contract by misrepresentationAccording to the Consumer Protection Act, if the business has represented their goods or services in a false, misleading or deceptive way, the customer can withdraw from the contract and file a complaint with the Ministry of Government and Consumer Services or take legal actionsAt the moment I would like to cancel the contract that would partially refund the experienced damages.Again, I have to admit that this claim was created due to CanadaUsVanLines' inability to perform promised service and misrepresentation
Sincerely,*** ***

I was wary of booking based on the bad reviews, and in fact spoke with Rebecca (one of their team members) to ask questions to get further information She answered my questions fully and gave me tips to help make my move as smooth as possible I moved across province and overall was quite pleased with my experience The delivery crew picked up and delivered my items within the time frame I was quoted The quoted price was almost exactly on what my actual price ended up being (it was slightly higher because I underestimated how many boxes of "stuff" we had) There was no damage to my items at all, besides a tiny chip in one mug that I didn't have fully wrapped in protective wrap Besides a tiny ding in my wall when taking a large couch down a tight basement stair way there was no damage to my house I am not quite done unpacking my items yet, but there does not seem to be anything missing from my delivery I am glad I went with this company rather than one that had a higher Revdex.com rating but that would cost me 3x higher than what I paid for Canada US Van Lines

NEVER MOVE WITH THIS COMPANY
We were looking to be moved out of our current house in Calgary for the beginning of July, so we contacted these people and scheduled a move date for June 26thWe decided to leave earlier and called to change the pickup date to the 23rdThey agreed, said they'd be there around 10:00-10:and told me they would send a confirmation call for the 23rdI didn't get a call the day before, even though I called and tried to get a hold of them, but there was no answerI took the morning off of work the morning of the 23rd so I could make sure the movers got everything okay, and nobody showed upI called every phone number I was given and contacted as many people as I possibly could, but no answerThe next following Monday (days later) I finally was sent an email saying that people took the day off on that Saturday and "forgot"I asked for my deposit fund back and they straight up refusedAt this point I just wanted to get it over and done with so I gave them one more chance and changed it to the 30th of JuneThey said they would be a bit later that day and they would call me between the hours of 3:00pm and 6:00pmOn the 29th I had to call and confirm that they were indeed coming, and again, they completely forgot and had to try and fit it into their scheduleWhen the next day came, I received no calls, no emailsI waited until 3:00pm until I started trying to contact these peopleI called multiple times, multiple numbers; I tried emailing, but nothingNo answers from anybodyAround o'clock at night I finally got a call from someone who was contracted by the company to do the moving, and told me his truck was full and he couldn't comeSo with my flight booked for the 3rd of July to Ontario and all of my things still in Calgary, this moving company single handedly screwed me overBecause of this company, I had to figure out a way to have a different moving company move my things all the way on the other side of the countryIf I could rate zero stars I wouldThis was hands down the worst display of professionalism I have ever seen in my entire lifeAs I said right at the beginning: NEVER MOVE WITH THIS MOVING COMPANY unless you want a colossal waste of time

Do not use this companyEstimate was $cheaper than actual chargesI was quoted, via email with David A***, that the move would take 2-weeks from Edmonton to Nova Scotia but took weeks and daysStory changed daily as to what was happeningMost furniture was damaged in the move90% was not wrapped in blankets as previously toldI have mailed the company pictures of all the damages** *** ** *** *** * *** ** *** ** *** * *** ***

Dear Revdex.com,It's unbelievable, how people they don't tell truthIt's too difficult to tell the truth? Yes Mrsand Mr***, they moved with usSince beginning of their move, their daughter, son, many people involvedThey made lots of problem since pick up.After pick up:They
claimed that they gave food and drink to driver and helper, they did packing etc. Basically they asked discount. We gave them $( packing discount 50% ) And we sent them to e-mail we don't want to this move, arrange another company get your shipment our warehousesThey didn't do that. Could you imagine that: "They claimed that they gave foods and drink to our driver and helper, and they acceptedWe told them "As a human if you give some one drink or food, you don't need to claim that." Anyway they used this situation and got discount from us $648.80.After that they want to delivery, they asked Sep01st around noon (We have e-mails recorded) because they will get house key or next dayWe gave them Sep.02nd as a delivery dateIf you need we can provide all information. Our supervisor he went there with drivers and helpersNow you maybe think why supervisor went thereHe want to see that everything will go smooth, because this people tried to manipulate usWe did unpacking what ever they wantWE HAVE PICTURES all open boxes, wardrobe boxes etcWe have witnesses they all witnesses what's happenedEven we told them don't touch anything, we will do it everything for youWe started to unpackingEven they sent dresser or cabinet wrongly upstairs, we brought back downstairsWe knew that their daughter and son tries to get more discount and we clearly told them "We are here guys and please don't touch anything we will do it ourselves" They said: YesWe checked everything by one byNEVER EVER ANY DISCUSSION OR ARGUMENT HAPPENED ABOUT UNPACKING. This is a big lie! We have pictures unpacked boxes and we have witnessesThis is unbelievable, we are ready to testify what's happened during the delivery. Their daughter she said that 4-5 boxes missingWe spent extra 1,hours and checked times, everything over there and nothing missingThey asked one glass top for coffee table, after that we found inside the wardrobe boxes and showed themWe have all picturesWe did unpack and delivery everything what ever they wantThat's why we went there guys. We knew that, they will make claim, and we didn't let them touch anythingWe did everything ourselvesAfter last check, their son he signed contract and inventory list, and make sure everything delivered. Please find the original contract and inventory listThis is unbelievableIf you need pictures of unpacked boxes we will send to youWhat we believe, their daughter gave them 100% wrong information about deliveryThey were not thereIf they asked their son, they will get right information about their delivery and what's happenedHe signed inventory list and they knew that we did delivery everything. We have all signatures, they signed contract and inventory listIf something missing why they signed inventory listThis is our proof that we delivered everything, and completed jobBest Regards

Final Consumer Response /* (2000, 5, 2015/07/20) */
I would like to close my claim with Revdex.com as I have been in contact with the company and, while the results are not ideal, I have agreed to their terms so that we can be finished with thisI will not deal with the company in the future but for the
purpose of this situation, I am accepting a cheque for $which is what they determined my losses to be worthI am not interested in fighting anymore and want this case closed
I appreciate your help as I was unable to get any response from them until Revdex.com was involved, at which time they responded immediately
Thank you,

This company is a joke and should not be usedWe spent almost dollars with this companyUpon receiving our items hours late we have almost dollars in lost and damaged itemsOnly being covered for dollars*** ** * *** I believe this compay should be investigated as I feel there is something shady about them

On July 16th, I contacted Rachel at Canadaus Van Line and received a quote from her to move us from *** Alberta to *** Nova ScotiaThe quote seemed fair so I called to talk to her to set things up but ashe was unavailableI spoke to Justin and we set up a time for them to come out and load up for September 7th, in the morningI received my confirmation from Justin on August 31, and paid him the $deposit to confirm everythingAt that time we discussed the driveway and I told him that I didn't think an wheeler would be able to go in my drivewayHe said that they would most likely deliver in the same size truck as our pick up but he would look at Google maps and let the warehouse and drivers knowOn Sept 6th, Justin called me to tell me that the date had to be pushed back due to DOT pulling your trucks off the road for inspectionI told him this was unacceptable as we had planned and booked everything according to the date of pick up for Sep

I was told I did not get additional insuranceI was not informed by them that I would need further insurance

Great customer service during initial contact and quotingHowever once your items drive away you will not experience professional, fair or courteous service
We hired Canada US Van Lines to move our personal items across Canada They provided us an in home quote of about $but ended up charging us over $They were two weeks later than they promised Our items were trashed Just about every large item was damaged Boxes crushed, items lost We were not allowed to inventory our items during unloading as their contract states The man in charge of delivery refused it, closed his truck door and threatened to drive away and charge us a penalty The demanded payment upfront and a picture of a certified cheque prior to delivery
After we provided them hundreds of photo's documenting damages they offered to compensate us $
This company is terrible The worst business I've experienced

Several items went missing such as a mountain bike, the tire, and the trainer as well as my computer speakers and keyboardWas given the run around and finally told by their claims department I wasn't entitled any money because I did not purchase extra insurance which wasn't offeredRoughly $worth of belongings lost

The move did not go smoothly, I would NOT use them againThey were suppose to be there at 2, they finally showed up at pm plus there was only moversThey stopped at and then we woke them up at the next dayThis time there was only movers We expected to be on the road at 9, we didnt leave till The movers complained as they were moving and had long discussions on how to fill the truckThey didn't believe that they would have room for everythingWe were nervous so we tried to pack more items with us instead of the truckThey also complained on some of our itemsIt seems that the salesperson didn't tell the movers about some of our items and didn't tell us that some things needed to be dismantledThey have no communication between them and we heard all about itWhen we finally arrived at our destination we phoned the office to see if we could get a price change for our inconvience, the main office contact was terribleShe would not let us finish a conversationShe would cut us off whenever we tried to talk or explainShe wouldn't give us a discount and she told the driver not to unload our furniture until they got paidShe also explained that it doesn't matter how long it takes to unload a truckOur price was also higher then quoted by the salespersonThis time we only had movers again to unloadWe ended up moving all our boxes into the house from the garage to speed up the processThe movers were nice but it took a long time to finally get it unloadedWe would not use them again, they need to have better customer service, the lady was really terribleI'm not sure how she sleeps at nightDo NOT use them...??

I could not be more disappointed in my overall experience with Canada US Van Lines and encourage anyone considering this company to book elsewhereI chose to book with CanadaUS Van Lines after getting quotes for long distance moves from multiple companiesThey weren't the cheapest, but prices were reasonable and my booking agent, Rachel, responded to my questions in a timely mannerSo I read some reviews and booked my moveI was quoted 10-business days for the delivery, and was told I would be given hours notice of the delivery by phone so that I could arrange for booking elevators, parking bays, etcOkay great, so I expected a call on Day at the latest to schedule delivery and then I could contact my new condo board to block off some parking for themMy pick up was scheduled in Toronto on Monday, June 13, between a.mand p.mI received a call from the driver at 5:p.mto ask "what kind of stuff I had to pick up" as their truck was almost full (I was surprised that they didn't know what they were picking up, after I had to detail for the company what I had when I booked?) and to tell me they would be there between 6-p.mto assess whether they had room to pick it up that dayThey arrived around 6:p.mand were able to load the truck up with my belongingsHoorayFast forward to June (Day 11), I still hadn't received my 48-hour notice, and I was getting anxious, as I was heading out of province on July 1stI called the company, and was told that "Oh, yes your stuff is in Edmonton, it's in our warehouse." I was not given a satisfactory answer as to why I was not contacted hours before my shipment arrivedHow long had it been sitting in the warehouse? She asked when I needed my stuff by (???), and I told her as soon as possible, so I paid my balance and scheduled delivery for the next morning, June 29th, between 9-a.m** * *** *** *** *** *** *** ** ** *** *** *** ** *** *** ** *** *** *** *** *** *** *** *** *** *** *** *** *** *** *** *** ** ** *** *** *** *** *** *** *** I phoned Canada Us Van Lines at p.m., then at p.m., then again at p.m., and none of my calls were answeredAt p.mI received a phone call to tell me that they were sorry but were unable to deliver my load that dayI told the girl on the phone * *** *** *** *** ** the very least they could have given me a quick phone call before they wasted hours of my dayShe assured me I was going to be their first delivery the next morning, June 30th, between 9-a.m., and that they would absolutely call if they were going to be lateWhen I hadn't heard anything from them by p.mon June 30th, * *** *** I called and was told that the people with the delivery before me had forgotten to book the elevator, so it was taking longer than expectedWait -- wasn't I supposed to be the first delivery of the morning, at a.m? Do you appreciate when people recognize that your time is valuable? Great, learn from my mistake, book your move elsewhere

Not informed "extra" insurance available in case damage or missing itemsMy bad not researched company better or beware when moving information Desperate because nearing end of month and other moving company "disappeared" / no contact anymore TV, coat racks, and many glass frames destroyed Missing spade shovel and top of bookcase Compensation, only because goodwill and therefore "waived" $deductable, etransfered $ Certainly, year old flat screen tv worth more than $
Quoted at first $4,for 10,lbs bedroom house industry standard Charged $8,and would not offload until fully paid Hands tied, no choice, paid to get items The only appliance/heavy items in move were upright freezer, large tube 55" television, and snowblower No fridge, stove, or dishwasherMovers wrapped maybe pictures
Should have read reviews online But again, desperate/in a panic to move because nearing end of month and renters moving into house my family vacating

We hired this company to move our personal and household possessions from Grand Forks, BC to Spruce Grove Alberta between Aug 10th and Sept 2nd Arrangements were made to include full packing and in packing services and color coded itemized inventory tags On the day of truck arrivalthe drivers were unorganized and in prepared to pack a bedroom house and engaged the help of family and friends of ours We needed to obtain and provide additional packing materials and supplies to the drives and no mention was made to the people who helped afterwards about paying them for their help boxes were missed after the inventory list was completed, but they said they would add them to the list The services was to also include up to weeks for free storage at their facility in Edmonton while we were transitioning to Alberta We contacted the company on or about Aug 14th via my daughter who was helping to coordinate this movie for us (*** ***) ** ** *** ** *** ** ***
