This company *** you into filling out surveys "as part of the application process" then they sell/ share your information. ***, they even have the audacity to keep sending you more surveys, they say "to increase your chances of getting accepted"

. The "job" they advertised on *** has not come to fruition for myself or the 4 friends who also applied. They are a real company and they probably do hire people to test products in their homes for $25/hr. HOWEVER, the actual number of these paid positions is TINY compared to the number of applicants. Their big business is the business of information, specifically yours and mine. *** paid surveys, most of which require you to consent to things such as all of your web browsing and purchasing behavior (including content of webpages visited), app usage, video streaming, and other online device activities being uploaded to whichever company is providing the survey.

Lacy: thank you for your interest and your feedback.

We understand your frustration for not being selected as an In-Home Usage Tester. Almost any adult in their life has experienced
disappointment and sometimes anger for not being accepted for a job that's needed and wanted. We really would like to be able to
accept more of the candidates that submit their application, but the selection process has to be very stringent because of the very
strict scientific principles used in market research, where companies invest millions of dollars to improve products. The fact that we
do our best to build a professional network of very well paid product testers makes everything even more difficult because many
people apply but unfortunately we can only hire a small portion, which is probably the same reality of any other good company. What
is true is that you don't call a company a "***" just because they don't hire most of the candidates that apply. By the way, if none of
your friends were accepted either, it's because there must be a common demographics variable that you share that prevents us from
selecting you all as testers, and it doesn't mean it's a negative variable, it could simply be a variable that we can't include in our
present studies, but maybe we'll able to do it in the future.

Market research is based on demographics and -of course- we have to use your consumer information to build your consumer profile,
otherwise, we wouldn't know with a scientific certainty if the market research is valid and useful for the company that pays for it. We're
sure that you already provide without knowing your browsing and consumer behavior to other sites (like social networks), however, you don't get in return from them the possibility of getting employed and paid.

Lacy: you haven't actually worked with us, so you don't have enough information to judge our company.

We wish you the best in your job search, hopefully, you and your friends find a good and fulfilling job soon.

God bless you, Lacy.

Regards,

Recruiting Team

Canadian Consumer Panels (CCP) is obviously a *** company that makes money by attracting people looking for work by offering $25 to $45 per hour for in home product testing. They have no physical address (the Yonge Street address has no suite number) and no "800" number. *** You'll wind up wasting hours of our time filling in online "profile" surveys, supposedly so that they can learn more about you to determine whether you're a suitable candidate.

This sounds reasonable, however there's no way that they could access the information collected unless these survey companies were to breach your privacy and share it with them without your permission (and no way is provided for you to give permission to share the information collected with CCP)!

. ***. They masquerade as a *** product testing site, and the switch... they redirect to you sign-up with a bunch of online survey companies and collect a referral fee for sending you there.

Not what they advertise. You have to register personal information with other entities.
*** they use an incorrect fixed address.

Market research is an extremely scientific and mathematical discipline. What uninformed peoplecall "survey companies" is in actuality the scientific research that has shaped and improvedthe products we use every day. *** is an example of what people call a "survey company",but they have been around since 1923 helping the industry understand their consumers. We explain on our application page that we establish your consumer profile and demographicswith the help of reputable consumer research firms. These companies use surveys as a researchtool to establish the applicant's detailed consumer profile and that's how we can determine ina scientific way a wide variety of products they could test with us. ***, we explain in three places during our application process that wework with consumer research companies: 1. In the job description itself: we state in our job description that we establish a candidate'sconsumer profile and demographics with the help of reputable consumer research firms. 2. During the 5 pre-qualification questions: we explain that we use consumer research firms todetermine applicant's demographics and consumer profile (applicants have to agree to be ableto continue). 3. Finally, in the last step page, we explain again why we use consumer research companies tobe able to determine the demographics and consumer profile of the candidates. We don't receive referral fees from the companies we send candidates to establish their demographicsand detailed consumer profile in a scientific way, quite the contrary, WE HAVE TO PAY to these companiesso they provide the service of determining what candidates are suitable to work with us. It works in asimilar way that when an employer sends a candidate to a company that performs a background check or runsa credit report on an applicant (banks and other companies do that to their potential employees). We hope all this explanation helps the public understand the role and importance of consumer research firmsin our society and clarifies our application process

Also, you have to wonder why is there not one single comment to be found anywhere from a satisfied 'employee' actually hired by this company through their convoluted process? I was dumb enough to fill out the application, plus register with two survey companies and unfortunately gave them a lot of my info - but, always being a little cautious, I did not give them correct information about my date of birth, address, etc. (as they say themselves in one of their comments below, it's all online so why do they need my physical address?). I figured I'd give them the real stuff once I saw proof of it being a real thing. Very disappointed. You can't trust anything on the internet. ***. Let's see what kind of *** response I get! Lol

If a company has the word "Canadian" in it, it should be registered with the government's Canadian corporations directory. I checked and it was not. Also, I called the security department of the Toronto Star building to confirm if this company is listed with them and they said "No."
