Canadian Tire Auto Centre (Prince Albert) Reviews (2)

I took my vehicle to Canadian Tire on December 29, 2017 at approximately 1545hrs. I was told that my vehicle would get diagnosed either during the evening or by the morning and I would hear back from the service centre. I was not provided with shuttle service. After not hearing from the service centre by 1100hrs on December 30 I called to inquire. Upon my inquire on December 30 I was told that my key was misplaced and that my vehicle would receive attention right away. This resulted in me not having my vehicle for travel to work and needing to make alternate travel arrangements. I was told my vehicle needs a complete wiper transmission replacement and that the parts must be ordered. However, after paying for the invoice I found the wipers to be working fine. I was not provided any consolation for the lost time and loss of use of my vehicle. When I went to retrieve my vehicle on December 31 the service advisor handed me my Chevrolet emblem from my vehicle telling me that it had fallen off my vehicle. The invoice number in question is *** with a total of $253.23, paid on December 31, 2017.

Desired Outcome

I am disappointed in Canadian Tire Auto Service Centre. I would like a full refund.

Canadian Tire Auto Centre (Prince Albert) Response • Jan 09, 2018

Key was returned to the customer when they picked the vehicle up and paid the deposit for the part on order. Temporarily repaired the wipers so they would work, but this is only a temporary repair as the transmission pin for the wipers is stripped. Diagnosis and repair were carried out in timely manner considering how busy our shop was at the time due to weather. Part has arrived, and we have contacted the customer, but customer has not returned any phone calls to schedule the repair to be completed. We are surprised to see this complaint. If customer chooses to not have the repair completed, we would be happy to refund the deposit less the diagnostic fee owing of $73.25 including taxes.

On 12/07/2014 we went to have an oil change an to replace a bulb for our turn signal....that being done we paid our fees an on our travel out of PA to Saskatoon during that ride we started to smell burning oil in the van...so we looked for dripping oil an checked the oil it appeared good...but just the same we turned back to PA ...we made a appointment with our regular mechanic for dec 31 the earliest....the smell of burning oil was strong we limited the use of the van...on dec 31 we did our appointment to find out all our oil drained out an that when they did our oil change they forgot to tighten up something an Canadian Tire charged us for a light bulb that was never changed...so [redacted] gave us another oil change an replaced the bulb as in the reciepts I am submitting...now this rep from Canadian Tire I am wanting a full refund from Canadian Tire ...we went without the use of our van for sometime.[redacted]Desired SettlementI would like a full refund on our as the oil ran out of my van an they didnt change my bulb they charged me for it but I was looking on the sheet for inspection an it looks like they didnt even do it. [redacted]Business Response When the customer first brought this to our attention, the oil change was apparently already redone, we simply asked him why he did not bring it to us for the issue at hand as we were open, dec 31 until 6 p.m. I tried to explain that we need to see first hand the issue so we can verify that it is our mistake and if so fix it. In any case I ended up offering his next oil change for free.[redacted]. there was never any discsusion about a bulb with the gentleman at this time. I then got a phone call from a woman who did not want to reason or discus, [redacted]. [redacted], so I told her our conversation was over. The bulb was mentioned by the woman during this call. again we never had the opportunity to see which bulb, or if there was another underlying problem. the bulb was replaced dec 12. anything could have happened ? I think under the circumstance our original offer for the oil change was fair. [redacted]Consumer Response (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)I would just like my money refunded [redacted] plus the charge [redacted] to fix the problem [redacted]
