Asked to have air conditioning looked at ,blowing hot air, need recharge. Was told when car was dropped off what the charges will be. I agreed, I was called back and told that the estimate was wrong they needed to charge another fee to look at it first. (It needed to be done I was told) I agreed.Even though I did not understand, they said it NEEDED TO BE DONE! When I picked up the car I complained that some charges were excessive. [redacted]! [redacted]I paided the bill and left. [redacted]. [redacted].My bill is $471.53 should be more around 240.00-300.00. [redacted]Product_Or_Service: car repair[redacted]Desired Settlementcredit my credit card I used to pay this bill.[redacted]Business Response An inspection is required initially to determine why the air conditioning system is not working. It usually does not work to simply recharge the system. It could work for a short time until the refrigerant leaks out again. In this case we found that the seals had shrunk and the refrigerant had leaked out. We added a sealer to swell the seals before recharging the system so the customer will not have a problem in the future. I would be willing to reimburse the inspection charge because it was communicated initially. That would be $120.00 plus tax.Consumer Response (The consumer indicated he/she ACCEPTED the response from the business.)I will accept partial settlement since I do not wish to continue the fight. Thanks.Thank you Revdex.com.[redacted]

Wiring harness on car not correctly installed; not subsequently repaired. Two years ago (Late July 2013), I had my wiring harness for towing installed on my 2006 [redacted] by Canadian Tire in Saskatoon. As a result of that installation, I immediately noticed the top driver's side brake light was nonfunctional (dash warning light has displayed ever since that installation). Although I reported it to them, I had no time, however, to have them complete further repairs as a result of our moving timeline. Three months subsequently, after getting settled in Ontario, I brought my car to another Canadian Tire (in Ontario) to have a safety check done so that the car could be registered in the province of Ontario. At that time, Canadian Tire informed me that the warranty had passed on the labour, so they would not be able to fix the wiring issue without further charges. Out of principle because the work was never completed correctly to begin with, I declined to pay for further services. I did not and do not believe that I should pay for a defect caused by the Saskatoon Canadian Tire auto service. Consequently, I never repaired the wiring harness issue. I brought my car for other repairs to another shop within these past two years and asked if they could also fix the lighting, they declined to do the wiring work and so I again left the issue alone. However, I want to sell my car now, but it cannot be sold without first obtaining another safety check, which requires that the wiring issue be addressed. Today [redacted] examined the wiring system damages created by Canadian Tire. The work was so problematic that [redacted] declined to touch it. They indicated that they did not want to exacerbate the problems created by the unprofessional work Saskatoon's Canadian Tire completed on the wiring harness. I have went back to Canadian Tire in Ontario, and I am extremely frustrated to be paying again for the same work that I already paid for in the past--despite the fact that is was never completed properly by Canadian Tire's auto services from the very beginning. With my original purchase, I paid for a service that was never actually provided. While I understand the warranty is only for 100 days on labour, [redacted]. [redacted]. My factory-installed wiring system has been damaged. The harness was installed without using proper plugs to attach to the factory-installed wires, and it was instead spliced. Even if splicing was the only option for the particular car and harness, which I know can be the case, the wires were simply re-patched with electrician's tape as opposed to proper wiring clamps or caps. The tape has subsequently unraveled and the spliced wiring is loose and exposed in places, as it is not properly protected by such tape--making it a hazard. I expected that the cold weather in Canada would pre-empt the use of electrical tape when plastic clamping covers for the wires are readily available. There are no specific individuals that I can identify. I have submitted this to Saskatoon's Canadian Tire because this was the originator of the issue. Waterloo and Kitchener Ontario's stores have been just as problematic for trying to address the issues of repairs subsequently. Desired SettlementI want a refund for the cost of the repairs [redacted] Business Response [redacted]Please contact myself with the findings from the Kitchener Canadian Tire store. It has been over 2 years since last contact and I would like the opportunity to speak with the customer. I can be reached by e-mail or phone.

On December 27, 2014, I took my car [redacted] for Vehicle condition report before I could get it registered in Saskatoon. The car did not pass the Vehicle Condition Report that was declined. The main reason was that the car did not pass the alignment test. The Autoshop wanted to do the alignment so that they can pass the car.The main problem with this is that on December 23, 2014, I had taken my car to the [redacted] dealership in [redacted] Saskatoon to get the Oil Change done. At that time, the I was advised that the car needs alignment and I agreed to get it done. As the previous alignment was done on November 12, 2010 and the odometer reading was 28,302 km. On December 23rd the odometer was 52,252 km. The [redacted] dealership gave me the results and every thing looked in order. On December 27th, 2014 the odometer reading was 52,347. This made me left wondering how in 95 km the alignment got off so much that the vehicle condition was declined to be registered in Saskatchewan. [redacted]Desired Settlement[redacted] They did the inspection but for certification they wanted to do the alignment. I did not want to pay for alignment again. [redacted] they advised me to come in next week and look at the alignment. [redacted]Business Response An alignment check is required as part of the [redacted] vehicle condition report. The vehicle did not pass the alignment check and the results were provided to the customer. The customer was encouraged to bring back the alignment paperwork from the dealership so we could compare the results. [redacted] states that we can not pass the vehicle condition report unless the vehicle alignment is within specifications.
