Hello I would like to start of by saying we are a very well established neighborhood eye care facility who has been serving are for over 20 years in the same location with the same owners and staff. [redacted] was at our facility for a comprehensive eye exam and was seen by one of the...

optometreist on site that day, she requested a comrehensive exam and was given one and for certain detailed eye exam we charge certain co payments which covers the difference from what her insurance covers. Now she was explained that every insurace provider is different and every insurance covers different services, her specific insurance pays only a certain amount and she was charged $15 for the difference from what we charge and what her insurance would pay us.
After being explained everything in detail she agreed to pay the $15 and received the services that she was entitled to. We are sorry if she was unhappy or unsatisfied, we try to make everyone happy and are very professional with all our patients. If there is anything we can do to help her she can gladly contact our office and we will assist her with her needs.

Review: I was eligible for a free eye exam so I went to the establishment for the eye exam. I had an appointment. When I arrived I was told there would be a copayment, so I called my husband to let him know. (I am covered under his insurance) He hung up and called customer service who reassured him that there is supposed to be no copayment for my check-up. The doctor had already taken me to the room to do my vision exam....it was a very short exam, during which the doctor left the room and came back shortly, telling me in a very hasty manner that my husband called someone to verify my copayment....he was someone nasty to mje after I was told this.

When I exited the room and went to the counter, I asked for a receipt for the $15 the doctor took from me. He wrote $15. co-pay on the back of a business card...then I asked for a copy of my prescription...he gave me the so-called prescription.

I called customer service to let them know and a complaint was taken against the establishment. Someone from customer service called a second time to the eye doctor's office and was told by someone there that I had some special exam done and it was a surcharge for this test not a copayment. Meanwhile, I have the business card with someone's signature on it indicating that I was charged a copayment! I feel as if this 'doctor' is very dishonest and he also display a very nasty attitude when speaking with me. I don't know if the prescription is accurate and I now have to pay out of pocket for an exam that was supposed to be free, if I want to get another opinion.Desired Settlement: I would like my money back, but more importantly I would like to be able to get an eye exam at a professional location somewhere else, but because of this rude dishonest man and his abrupt examination, I forfeited my free check up.

In regards to the response from the business, I would never do business there again or ever recommend them to anyone. The gentleman that was present when I entered the facility, told me there was a $15.00 copay before I entered the room to have my vision test. I was already informed by the insurance company that the examination was supposed to be free. When I was told that I would be charged, I called my husband to notify him, and he called the insurance company who then contacted the vision center while my husband was on hold. A representative from the insurance company stated that the optometrist was rude on the phone. But he was told that my examination was supposed to be free.
