Candy's Tire Shop Reviews (1)

Review: The business changed the four tires on my vehicle and the next day I noticed that my right front tire was loose. After I left the establishment, I took my car to my mechanic and he noticed that the lug nuts were not placed correctly on the studs. He tried to tighten the lug nuts. When he tried, they became loose. My mechanic had to replace the four studs and the four lug nuts, which cost me $110. I went back to the business and explained my situation to her. I showed her that the four lug nuts and studs came off the wheel. She agreed to get me two studs and two lug nuts, but she refused to get the other two studs and lug nuts. She also refused to reimburse me my money even though her employee made the error. The reason I am filing this report is because I almost had an accident due to the fact the wheel became loose.Desired Settlement: I would like to have the settlement be amicable!

Response:

I am replying to the complaint made on Sept. ** by [redacted].

On Sept. **, this customer did have installed 4 new tires at this establishment.

On Sept. **, he called to say that one of the tires was loose and he was told to come in and have it checked out. He came on Sept. ** and we did see that there 2 studs damaged on the front passenger side. After much debate, we agreed to replace the two studs and lug nuts damaged. He insisted on getting $20 which he said was the cost of the parts but we wanted to provide new parts as compensation. He was asked to come the next day to pick up the parts which he agreed to b/c auto repairs are not done on the premises. He also insisted on leaving his car and that we find a mechanic to do the job and was trying to leave his car keys. He acted very irrational. He did say that his mechanic was charging him $100 not $110 as he alleges. Everything is on video where we were able to remove 2 lug nuts. At no time, did he say that there were 4 lug nuts and studs were damaged. If all four had been damaged, we would not be able to do that - remove 2 which is on camera that we did so.< br />

Also, if it he was at risk of having an accident, why did he go to the Bronx twice at some point between Sept. ** & ** in the same car? I know this because he told me on the phone call on Sept. ** and at the store on Sept. **. But no, he waited 5 days to call about the loose wheel and then not come the same day he made his initial call. If he was at risk of an accident, why continue driving the car in question? That doesn't make sense. If he himself said he had another car. How do we know he didn't hit a pot hole?

Also, after leaving my store, he went straight to another mechanic to have a wheel alignment done. At that auto repair place, they would have noticed that his wheel was loose because a road test among other steps is done during such alignment. And they also move the tires and wheels back and forth on the lift.

He went to yet another mechanic on Sept. ** or **, who then checked his car not immediately following as he as statement in his complaint. He told me that one of these lug nuts not 4 was loose as he alleges. He should have called the same day upon leaving or next day if he really felt it loose. But yet he waited another 2 days making it a total of 6 days after the initial purchase before returning. Again, he did say he had another car and did not need to keep driving the one in question.

Upon returning on Sat Sept. ** for the parts, he did say that all four lug nuts were changed and he said, “Leave like that." after receiving the parts and walking out. And that no complaint would be made because we kept our word.

We did our part as agreed upon by giving the customer new parts in reference to the 2 lug nuts and 2 studs. He also used profound language in the store and was asked to leave if he continued to do so. If he was not in agreeance of the parts he should have not returned for them. He knows that he is fabricating the truth and not told the whole truth and wasted the Revdex.com's time.
