Refund of my 200 holding fee due to the apartment not being available for move in
Hi my name is *** and I was approved for a 2 bedroom apartment at Palm Harbor Villas in Melbourne Florida on June 18, 2018 (letter is attached). I was told my move in date would be August 15th. On July 27th I received a voicemail from Jo the apartment manager stating unfortunately the apartment would not be available for move in until the earliest end of September. That was unacceptable because I needed a place no later than the end of August. I was then told by Jo that my 200 holding fee would be refunded to me because it was their mistake and they were unable to accommodate me in a timely manner. Jo then called her supervisor for approval to refund me the 200 but was told the accountant was on vacation that would so the check couldn't be mailed out until the following week! Today is August 27th and I have still not received my 200 refund of the holding fee. I have called Jo numerous times to check the status of the refund but she NEVER answers my calls and has not returned any of my voicemails since our original conversation on July 27th. I am so displeased with the unprofessional manner in which this is being handled. I will be contacting the Revdex.com as well as the housing authority! It is not ok to scam people out of their hard earned money. All it takes is a simple return phone call.
I want to receive the 200 refund immediately of my 200.00 holding fee as I was promised 6 weeks ago

To Whom It May Concern:
l attempted to log on and answer via the web link you provided. Your site stated
it did not exist. I also did not previously reply in writing as I was out of the
country since September celebrating my husband's 65"' birthday and returned
late last week. I did follow up during my trip to ensure that this situation had
been resolved and was informed it had been mid September.
This applicant, Ms., did apply to move in at Palm Harbor Villas. She was
scheduled to move in in August. The current resident at that apartment was
unable to move out as they were building a new home and it was not yet ready.
We had no other apartment available at that time in which to transfer Ms.
***.
Jo, the apartment manager contacted Ms. to inform her of this
situation at the end ofluly and that her $200 holding fee would be returned,
however; Jo also informed her that checks are cut and mailed 30 to 45 days out.
We only cut checks 1x a month as we are a small family owned and managed
business. We have 1 accountant. That being said, a check was cut and mailed at
the end of August to the address provided by Ms.. The check was
returned to us as "Not Deliverable, Unable to Forward". See attached.
Both Jo and the Area Supervisor, Heather made numerous calls to Ms.
after the check was not forwarded to ensure we could either resend the check to
a different address or have Ms. come and pick up the check.
Contact was made between all parties and Ms. received her check on
either Thursday Sept 13 or Friday Sept 14th as she gave permission for daughter to
pick up at the Palm Harbor Villas office.
