Canine Country,Inc. Reviews (1)

Review: Canine Country failed to provide the training that was promised and guaranteed. It has, in actuality, had the opposite effect. The trainers were abusive to my dog and concentrated on negative reinforcement to correct bad behavior. The two trainers constantly contradicted each other, and showed little patients. When some of my concerns were pointed out, one trainer simply became defensive and rude. After multiple phone calls, I sent a letter to the owner explaining in detail the negative experience I had with her training methods and employees, which also went unanswered. The owner showed little interest in resolving the issues to my satisfaction.Desired Settlement: Total cost was $750.00. A refund of $200.00 was received but not yet accepted. I would like an additional $150.00, and either the collar returned or $200.00 to cover the cost of the collar. I received 3 private lessons, and only attended 6 classes. The services purchased were for lifetime, unlimited classes. My dog is 2 years old.

Response:

We at Canine Country were not abusive in any manner and there are several witnesses to attest that. There are two emails that are forwarded following this response.

Response:

She paid for a lifetime training package which was seven hundred and fifty dollars. That training package includes 3 lessons that took place at her house, a fourth lesson at our facility followed by a weekly class. She participated in the 3 lessons at her house, the lesson at our facility and 7 classes. At the end of the third in-home lesson she stated that she was very pleased with the progress in her dog. Our contract that she signed and initialed states " I understand that my account must be paid in full prior or at the first training lesson and there will be no refunds". Dog training is a science and there are many ways to train dogs. She was uncomfortable using the remote collar that she paid for so our trainers accommodated her by spending a lot more one on one time with her than the other clients in class. We tried many different methods, which is why she believes we contradicted each other. Her dog was very well behaved in her house but struggled with toys and other dogs in the training room. She had said that our class was the only time she subjected her dog to that type of distractions so she believed her dog was getting worse, which is false. Her dog was jumping at other dogs in an aggressive manor so in one class our trainer actually had to handle the dog because we were worried about a dog or client getting bit and the trainer did get bit because of her dog's aggression. When the dog bit our trainer he explained that when you put a dog in a stressful situation they tend to have extreme behaviors, which she could not understand, which is why she believes we ''abused" her dog,I did respond to her phone call and spoke with her to try and resolve the situation, I did refund her $200.00 in attempt to resolve her conflict which is against company policy. So I was/am concerned with resolving her issues. The training package pricing is as follows:Three one hour in home private lessons @ $100.00/hour ($300.00)One hour private lesson at Canine Country @$100.00 ($400.00)Unlimited group classes @ $150.00 ($550.00)Remote training collar @ $200.00Refund given was $200.00 which consisted of $100.00 for the used remote collar and $100.00 for group classes.I have a copy of the contract she signed and initialed if you request it.
