Canine Cuties

I contracted the services of Canine Cuties, after researching several other pet sitting services, because I was impressed with their website and "Mission" statement. [redacted], the owner, came out to our house for a "meet & greet", and I was very impressed with the professionalism she exhibited. I went over the feeding instructions and daily routine for my 2 dogs, and 3 cats, as well as having the instructions clearly and concisely written out. We were out-of-town from Thursday night to Sunday morning. When we returned at 10:30am Sunday morning, I walked into the house and noticed that all the lights were on, including utility room and bathrooms, the shutters, drapes and blinds were all closed, and the 3 days of newspapers were still in the tube. The dog's 5 gallon water bucket hooked to their outside kennel had barely an inch of water in it, with a layer of dirt at bottom of bucket, the kitty fountain was near empty with the sound of a struggling motor, the cats feeding dish had dry food overflowing in each side, with a can of moist food on top, all crusted over! The cats were to be given 1/4 can of fresh food, morning and evening, in a clean dish! [redacted], and her husband, who came to help with our large dogs, did not read or adhere to any of the instructions, which were left on the kitchen counter for them. Not only did they not perform the professional services contracted, I have yet to get my house keys returned, and it's been nearly 2 weeks! I had to have my locks rekeyed yesterday, costing me nearly as much as the service I had to pay for upfront with Canine Cuties. I contacted my credit card service, and filed a dispute of charges ($210.00), wanting to at least get reimbursed for the rekeying cost of $157.72!Product_Or_Service: Pet sitting serviceDesired SettlementI currently have a "dispute of charges" filed with my credit card service, and want to at least have the rekeying cost of $157.72 backcharged to Canine Cuties!Business Response We will be happy to grant a refund for the charges needed to change the locks in your house, however, since you have a "dispute of charges" with your credit card service, we are not able to grant a refund directly to you at this time. If you would like to cancel the "dispute of charges" we will grant a refund directly through [redacted], which we believe will be quicker and more beneficial to you.Consumer Response (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)I just contacted my credit card service, with regards to the "dispute of charges", and they said that they were still "investigating" and it could take another 30 days to complete. They also advised me not to "cancel" the dispute of charges claim, and said there was no reason why Canine Cuties could not issue a refund of $157.72 to cover the rekeying charges. Canine Cuties need only to contact Paypal and request a "refund" of $157.72. I will cancel the dispute of charges claim as soon as I receive a refund of $157.72, and not until then.Final Consumer Response My credit card service has completed their investigation of the "dispute of charges" claim against Canine Cuties, and have credited my account with the entire $210.00 originally charged. Canine Cuties did not act professionally or responsibly, and they did not perform the services as originally contracted. My dispute of charges claim has been resolved.
