I am rejecting this response because: When my mechanic received this part, he took a picture of it and immediately sent it to me telling me it was not new and the regulator valve was not attached as it should have been if it was indeed a new part I sent this picture to Cannon They told me they needed to see the two parts side by side because they didn't believe me and called my mechanic a liar I sent them the attached picture showing just that The browner colored pump is my broken pump -- the regulator valve has come off, which causes the part not to function The other part is what they sent me (which is the part I personally packed up and shipped back to them) You can clearly see that the part they sent me (which they told me had been sitting on their shelf for years) has the same issue as my broken part as you can seethe valve is supposed to be connected to the pump by the manufacturer You cannot just shove it on there -- it does not stay under pressure I had to order another part from another store, which was received and is in new and not broken condition My mechanic has nothing to gain from this because he can't get paid from me until the job is done and did not want to install a part that was clearly broken I have called the state of Minnesota because my next step is to file a judgement against Cannon I will put my mechanic on the stand if that's what it will take to end this Cannon should not be able to get away with this

Customer needs to take this to Polaris. We as a repair facility have done everything that Polaris the manufacturer has asked us to do and can find NOTHING wrong with this machine. Mr [redacted] complaint is unfounded and with no merit. He threatened my service manager with a lawsuit... and once the threat was issued we will no longer work on a customers machine. Our response is come get your machine, its still under factory warranty and take it somewhere else so you can verbally abuse another dealership!!! Michelle [redacted]

My name is Doug the GM here at Cannon PowerMy background includes owning dealerships for yrsThe part in question happens to have been overstock that Cannon Power purchased from of my storesIt is indeed several yrs oldPolaris exited the PWC business after the model yrThe
part we sent was opened and tested to assure function prior to shippingThere were no hoses installed on itThe part returned to us clearly shows that there have been fuel hoses installed on themIn addition you can see the unit returned is filthyAlthough the part we sent out was aged (all PWC parts are obsolete) it wasn't used? See attached pic.As soon I heard there was an issue I requested pics of both pumps side by sideI don't think we ever received them? I know there was resistance? If she feels there was shipping damage she should have filed a freight claim with the carrierShe wasn't present when her "mechanic" received and installed the partDid he damage it? I have a Factory trained Tech here that tested the unitIt was then put back in original factory packaging and shipped to her mechanicWhat happen from that point is out of our control and we should not be held liable. Bottom line is the pump returned to us is used (and damaged)The pump we sent out was functional and undamagedWe have returned the damaged pump to her freight paid

For starters I took over the store last fall and had no part in the sale of the unitSecond the sled was sold "used as is"Very much the industry standard and very straightforwardWe run all trades through our shop for salabilityThe sled sold for

As I disclosed in my previous response we have no reason to run an Engine S/N -vs- Chassis S/N? The unit was checked for ride ability and function and was "sold as is"I wont get into my Gold Certified technicians vs his training or any of many other items I stand by my previous responseIt's a

I am rejecting this response because: The sled may have been use and 'sold as is', but it was not disclosed that the engine was a 579cc vs598cc, nor that the engine year was a vsa 1996! This is Affirmative misrepresentation! Not an industry standard at all! I've owned a snowmobile of some type since when I bought my Cougar new! The engine difference was not explained to me at the time of the saleThe HP may be 'close' but when I'm sold a 600cc sled, I don't want to find out later that it's really a year older and 19cc smaller engine! (580cc!)I resent the fact that Doug implies that I was in over my head! On the contrary, I have rebuilt the entire engine an have it running better than everI actually graduated at the top of my class in mechanics and got place in a state competition! I know what I'm doingObviously unlike the mechanics there that either didn't do a thorough inspection, or didn't do an inspection periodHad I ridden the sled in that condition any longer than I did, the engine would have sustained permanent damage. I'm not concerned about the mechanics of the sledI was able to do the repairsI am just unhappy about the dealer not indicating the true item being sold. The unit was sold as - Vehicle PS/ VIN Number - As seen in the pictures, this is clearly not the case

Initial Business Response /* (1000, 8, 2015/12/29) */
I started at Cannon Power in Aug 'to monitor operationsI saw the bike being worked on but didn't have intimate knowledge of the situationOnce I took over the GM position I got more involved, brought in Yamaha people, brought in a
duplicate bike to use for diagnosticsWe conservatively have 80+ man hours ($95/hr)into the bike
Bottom line it fooled the best Techs we could come up withOnce we asked more questions surrounding the onset of this problem (customer had it at a shop unsuccessfully prior to ours) it was discovered it wouldn't turn over in the spring after winter storageCustomer told our Tech that he was told by someone (not Cannon Power) at that time to put the bike in gear and rock it back and forthThe problem here was the engine was full of uncompressible gasoline and the force created by the fuel holding the valves closed caused damage to one of the camsThe cam lobe was altered (twisted) a couple degrees affecting performance and causing damageUpon inspection and reinstalling the cam it cracked due to the twist
We ordered a replacement and will install/test once it's receivedWe would like to get paid for our time ($8000+) but realize it's unreasonableWe will offer to do goodwill for the customer due to the situation and charge only for parts and hr of diagnostic labor

Initial Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2016/01/20) */
I have been the GM here for 7 months. There has been absolutely no contact from customer in this time period. The unit is 14 months old and the warranty is 6 months.
The customer stated that the unit has had issues since the day he got it....

The issues he described to me are user issues. The winch cable has broken 10+ times plowing. I've been in this business for 25 yrs and the ONLY way to break a cable plowing is operator error. A 3000lb cable will not fail from lifting a 50# blade. The operator lets out too much cable and on retraction (lift) it gets kinked and frays, causing failure. I've only had 2 people (this is 2nd) not acknowledge its their fault. Most learn immediately and watch for it.
His 2nd issue is hard shifting. if this is the case I'm not sure why he waited 14 months to address. He said he "forgets about it in summer". Well summer has been over for 6 months now??It appears without looking into it that he has a failure and is now looking for help?
I told him we would be happy to pick it up (it's a 2 hr trip) and repair it but cant do it free. I cant do it based on what he said was promised to him by his salesman. The promises he stated are a bit of a stretch in the industry, so I'm skeptical.
If I had the issues with a retailer he claims I would have driven there and addressed them in person. He claimed he's been hung up on here? I finally hung up on him when he became extremely belligerent and was swearing F this and F that. And have heard no more from him.
Initial Consumer Rebuttal /* (3000, 7, 2016/01/22) */
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
This is the same line of crap I got from this guy before. I've called several times and gotten no calls back. He also told me their computer system was replaced and they had no record of my system at all. When I bought this unit that shop told me they would pick up anything within 100 miles, this is a policy that this guy changed and for better or worse that isn't what I was told when I bought it. My sales person also told me we would take care of these things but every time it got to service I never got a call back, got hung up on etc. I've already called Polaris who was very disappointed with the way the dealer was handling this and it working it out with me directly. This place has no customer service skills at all and has done everything they could to avoid taking care of this since I bought it. Their poor computer notes and the fact they've turned over staff isn't my problem, they should be providing the service they promised. I paid 17k for this ATV, they were happy to drive it to my house then and promised to take care of these issues. Typical sales, we'll say anything to sell it....then fall down when it comes time to fix it.
Final Business Response /* (4000, 9, 2016/01/22) */
With out getting into a he said/she said thing here, there has been NO CONTACT from the customer regarding this in the 7 months I've been here. Provide me phone records of his calls here during the period I've been here showing our number. I offered to come and get the unit on an hourly basis but he didn't want to pay more than $50. The damages are operator error. Bottom line here is the customer had plenty of time to address the issues, chose not to and now is asking for unreasonable help. After listening to him tell me he hasn't been able to find a decent ATV dealer anywhere (wonder why?) and him swearing at me in a flurry I had to let him go.
