[redacted]I had spoken with my lawyer about the situation and she explained to be about what is going on and how the process for our case would be. I sent an email to Canoan Village this morning explaining to them what was explained to me and to see if we can come to an agreement. This is what I sent in the email:Hello,I have talked with my lawyer and she explained what would happen based on what is going on. She explained that in our case this would be a process of my word against your word and it would be taking time such as meeting court days and meeting up with our lawyers. She explained the normal wear and tear process which is when things that have been used get renewed. The wear and tear process is normal just like the deposit charge when moving in. The deposit is what is used to cover the renewing process but I was't charge the deposit when I moved in. I completely understand that a wear and tear process and a deposit charge has to happen and I also understand that they are things that are talked and agreed upon when signing to move in. In this process we will have to be spending time to show up at court dates and do your word against mine because we don't have any evidince to present at a court but we will still be going through the whole process. I was hoping that instead of having to take your time and my time to go through of the court dates and the entire process that we can come to an agreement where I pay half of what you are charging me. We both have things to get done and I know I don't want to be losing time at court dates as I'm sure you don't either. If you agree with the half of the payment then we can go ahead and do that.Have a good and I'll be waiting for a response on how we will settle this.

[redacted],Thank you for informing our company that there was a complaint about one of our managed properties.  Upon research with our property manager and Mr. [redacted]'s files, the carpet needed to be replaced due to the overwhelming pet smell.  Once the apartment was cleaned and made-ready...

for a new tenant, the carpet smell made it inhabitable for a new tenant.  The property manager consulted a carpet cleaning company to try to mitigate the cost of replacement but due to the extent of damage, the carpet needed to be replaced.  Mr. [redacted] was charged for the remainder of the life of the carpet, not the entire cost of the replacement.  Mr. [redacted] was a great tenant and we hope this incident does not flaw his entire experience that he had while staying at Canoan Village.  Please see attached memo from the carpet company.  Thank you        Nicole P[redacted]
