My response to Mr [redacted] dated March 17, 2017:"In regards to the damage on your railing:  I have spoken at length with the crew and shown them pictures. They are overwhelmingly certain the damage was not caused by our activities. I trust them implicitly. They have no reason to lie and have never...

done so in the years I have worked with them.Additionally, the damage is not consistent with that caused by branches. Those gouges would have had to be made by something much heavier, such as furniture.I take great strides to be a rigorously honest person and to own any mistakes. The same holds true for my company and those under my employ. In this instance I am firmly convinced that this issue is not ours to own." Damage was done to the entire length of the railing as well as on Mr [redacted]'s porch. Areas where we did not work. My exact words after meeting with Mr. [redacted]: "if we caused this damage, we will make it right." We did not cause the damage and so have nothing to make right.Our reputation is of the utmost importance. We serve many hundreds satisfied clients every year. We do make mistakes. And we own them and report them immediately. The cost of repairing Mr [redacted]'s railing is negligible and I would not hesitate to pay for it had we caused the damaged. The principal of the matter remains. WE DID NOTHING WRONG.
