Can'tpar or Can(sub)par - no stars
An order of two packages was slated to be delivered on the 22 November and over a week later still nothing. Everyday an email update " held at terminal for scheduled delivery" and no results from talking to a representative after waiting 45 minutes on the phone. Only one hour from their terminal to my delivery address. Retailers should really stick to "real" courier companies.

CONSIGNEE NOT HOME status when I was sitting at home the whole day
Totally Fake "CONSIGNEE NOT HOME" when I was sitting at home the entire day. No one called, knocked or left anything. As far as I can tell there were nowhere near my building that day.

This is not true !
I have been waiting and hitting refresh on the tracking and suddenly it says I'm not home ! I am the "consignee" right ?
There was no knock on the door and no buzzer attempt either.

Absolutely terrible Shipment was supposed to arrive on May 16th I took a day off work to wait for the courier that did not arrive When I called Canpar, one girl could not speak english, then another customer service rep was to call me back, never did Then the supervisor was busy all day, so I left him a voice mail The the supervisor of IT could not help and had no idea where it was or when it would be delivered even though she could see the shipment This lady could not even find a shipment locator and it's on her website and she could not guide me through and she's the IT supervisor So what do I do now? I am talking to Christoff right now, the supervisor of Customer Service and he says he has no idea where the shipment is and when it will be delivered That Canpar is a low budget courier service that can not track shipments like [redacted] ! Really? He does not know if my order is in TO, Calgary, Vancouver or on its way here He put me on hold now for an hour, I don't think he's coming back, will have to hang up This does not look good for [redacted] & [redacted] , will definitly not order online from your company again Very Very Unsatisfied Customer When will my sons birthday present be delivered? I was very satisfied with your serviceMy package was delivered on schedule, and to the proper location at my house, even with poor driving conditions.I just thought I would drop you a line commending your service after reading negative reviews about your service

***!!! Do not have on your slip that you will be at the drop off location by noon if you do not plan on being on time!! I show up at 12;and no drop off yet Un***
Store owner at drop off was great and so was customer service but I will not choose that service again

A parcel was to be delivered on Friday, July 22, so we stayed home to receive it since it needed a signatureThe Canpar driver left an Attempt notice on the side door of our garage!!!! We do not live in our garageAfter being on hold for almost minutes we were told that they could not deliver until Monday! The parcel was a birthday giftI am NOT impressed

This is the worst courier I have ever dealt withThey attempt delivery only twice before sending packages back to the sender and their hours are only 11-5:Monday to FridayBecause of the short hours and a location at the far end of town, I am not able to get to the depot to pick up my package and have no way to get it short of taking a day off work to go and get it (they do not actually try to buzz up, so being at home won't help) or asking them to leave it in the street to be damaged by weather or stolenThey lie about their delivery attempts, as they said that I did not answer when they rang my apartment buzzer, even though it is hooked up to my cell phone and I would have got the call at workI am left wondering if there is any way for me to get my package at all, never mind with the convenience that paying for a courier should provideHad I been given a choice I would have gone with a better courier, but sadly the shipper chose the methodMy advice is never use Canpar, or the person you are trying to deliver to will have a really bad experience

They provided package tracking status online but it would be difficult for general population to understand the language No date of attempt or notification email for consignee With unknown delivery date, I got notes from my main door, one per day, mentioning the driver found no one answer the door It is very difficult to arrange someone to answer the door at home during weekdays for a working class Retried for the third time with paying $and customer service promised to notify me the date of delivery by phone I got no calls from them instead another fail attempt note from the door They have option for the driver leaving the package at the door but I refuse to have the package left at the door for the entire day
Stay away unless you are willing to spend a day at home just for waiting your package arrive Not to mention minimum 30+ minutes of wait each time if you want to speak with their customer service

This is the actual worst courier experience I've ever had the misfortune of having, and its not even complete yetI Ordered from *** (UK) who use *** ***..who in turn use Canpar in Toronto / OntarioI purposefully had the package sent to my office, of which I am reception to ensure successful deliveryWith tracking indicated a "Non Attempt" which is..I have no idea, I called customer service (waiting mins + to speak with someone)They had no info or explanations for me, but said they would call backI actually saw the Canpar truck not long after racing down the streetI Never heard back, so called again (waiting mins + to speak with someone) asking about the "Departing hub/terminal via linehaul" tracking info, to which they once again said they would call back, which they haven'tI feel for the Customer Service Reps as I'm sure they deal with a million frustrated customers an hour, a cursory search through any review site will tell a similar storyNo information / No Customer service / No Accountability / and No Delivery! We'll see if it ever shows, But Im telling you for sure, I will not be trekking out the middle of nowhere to pick it upI'm fantastically surprised a company with such a poor record remains running at all

I have ordered gun powder from a supplier and it was then given to Canpar to ship. I missed the first attempt to ship, granted my fault as I was working. I called and asked for a later shipping time tomorrow. Was home all day, checked their website to see if still in transit, and see that it was another fail to deliver. Checking the delivery time to the note on the front door, it was 10 minutes apart, no door bell, no knock, nothing. I then phoned their office and was greeted by a rude man who said "to bad to sad". He cannot contact the driver in anyway to turn around and come back. Now I have to drive 3 cities away to pick up my package.

Canpar has been extremely disappointing as a courier. Not only did they failed to deliver my package during their 2 mid weekday delivery attempts. They offered me 2 subpar alternatives:

1) They would attempt a 3rd drop off with a charge of $10 plus taxes on my credit card

OR

2) I could pick up my parcel on the opposite side of the city (Saskatoon, SK) between the hour of 8:15am-9:15am (aka morning rush hour). I assume this is so that they can force their customers to drive across the city during morning rush hour rather than their employed drivers. This also doesn't work for me as I have a demanding engineering career.

Canpar customer service emailed me quickly after my complaint, but seemed more interested in explained their corporate policy to me than solving my problem. After 6 emails responses from them no resolution has been reached. I also drove to their office after work on a wednesday (at 4:15pm) to find the place locked and empty.

Overall, this has been a terrible experience, almost enough to ake me regret my initial online purchase in the first place. In the future I will actively go out of my way to avoid using this courier, it's not worth the headache. I would recommend others do the same as well.

This is my second shipment delivered by Canpar and the communication and service is awful! First off, if you call their local number during business hours it just keeps ringing, there is no answering service or recorded message. If you call their 1-800 number the average wait time for your call to be answered is about a minimum of 20 minutes (believe me I've had to call more than once). My most recent message said that they were unable to find the buzzer number to my condo. Understandable the listing is under my first name not my last, so I called and when my call was finally answered, I left left my buzzer number, first and last name plus she said she's take my number incase there were any problems. So I waited at home the entire day for them to retry to deliver it. That evening I finally went down to the lobby to collect my mail and there was a notice to say that they didn't have a buzzer number so I would need to pick it up. The part of the label that states how many days it will be help for is also cut off so I guess I need make time to go as soon as I can! They didn't even attempt to call, and I know my buzzer works because [redacted] called earlier the same day about a delivery.

I notice that their Facebook isn't even working so people can't even leave public comments, but after seeing all the complaints and negative comments on here it makes a lot of sense. I[redacted]

[redacted] I was expecting a parcel and found a note on my door that the driver had tried to deliver but no answer. I was here at the time the driver claimed to deliver it. I phoned Canpar but gave up after waiting 40 mins. so called the nearest Canpar outlet and when I said that obviously the driver didn't ring the bell. He argued that he did but when I said no the bell did not ring he said "if you are going to argue with me we can forget this conversation". Nice??

This is twice this year where a delivery was to be a certain day and the courier updated the tracking page to say "consignee not at home". This last time I was in my front yard so there is no way I could have mist him or her. When a signature is not needed then there isn't a problem. My issue is when a signature is required and I am obligated to have an item shipped to my home address. taking time off of work to be home for the delivery is bad enough. but to have the courier state "consignee not home" when the fact is that there was no effort made to deliver is a blatant lie.

Canpar is absolutely AWFUL! I cannot believe that this company is in business. They made an attempt to drop off packages during the day (when no one was home), would not leave them, and didn't leave a note indicating that I had to pick them up. When I called them, they said that they had mistakenly sent them back to the sender instead of their pick-up depot. They then called and said that two days later I can pick up from the depot. The day I went to pick up I called to be sure, and they said the packages are there, but then called me back to literally say they cannot find the packages. Incredible...this is your ONE JOB...to ship goods to and from places, and you screwed this up. Wish there was a ZERO STAR rating. I am contacting [redacted] to ask they NEVER use Canpar again.
