We booked and paid a deposit to this business almost a year before our event. Yes it was a bit shabby but we were not looking for fancy. A meeting early this spring put a big red flag up. Statements [redacted] made regarding our previously discussed arrangements made me check into the businesses licenses with the state of Montana.
I found out they do not have the licenses required to fulfill our agreement.
We did know about the bankruptcy, she was very up front with that. However, not having proper licenses speaks of fraud.
Next time I well fully check out the validity of a Mom & Pop type business.

We planned to hold our wedding at the chapel at Canyon Ferry Mansion. The service from [redacted] was so horrific that we had to drop this place. We paid $4500 to [redacted] and all we got was a hard time, high stress, and after two months of wrangling we finally got her to send our wedding invitations. We specified to her exactly what was to be printed on invitations, and when we got them in the mail we were shocked to see she added her own comments. One comment read: Wedding Attire: sporty wedding or court costume. We are trying to have a wedding, not a costume party! We were then frustrated when she started increasing our prices thousands more than what we were originally quoted. Unfortunately, [redacted] told my fiance that she spent the $4500 we had given her for our wedding on her mortgage and various other household expenses. We are left to think that this explains why her prices were vastly increased. Since she spent the money on her bills, she didn't have anything left to pay vendors for the wedding. We asked for a refund and she stated she couldn't pay. Curious to see if we ever get anything back. I seriously doubt it. Based on our horrible experience, we will avoid [redacted] and Canyon Ferry Mansion like the plague. Forever! We advise you do the same!
