Complaint: ***
I am rejecting this response because: I have documentation which states they offered a double lifetime warranty if savings in the amount of 25%-45% were not seen on the utility bills.

Dear *** ***,
On February 9, you custom ordered double hung windows for your home with white grids One for the kitchen and two in the bedroom Shortly after you had our installation coordinator come back out to double check the measurements
before custom making the windows Three weeks later the installation department called to schedule an install date and you stated that "you didn't have the balance at this time can we call back later" After the install department tried several times with no success of contacting you- your order was referred to *** *** to try to schedule and workout financing terms or a payment schedule No phone calls were returned to him He waited until just before Thanksgiving of that year to give the file to me (***) to try to schedule and if not successful send to collections
I was invoiced by the manufacture for your custom windows and had to pay them I'd like to resolve this matterI spoke w your daughter *** and she was going to follow up with me but never did and just decided to file a Revdex.com complaint
I'm ready, willing and able to fulfill your contract for the windowsJust waiting on youOver years in business and a stellar reputation in the community & industry I have to resort to you just don't want to honor your order placedWe can let the higher ups resolve this in April, since you refuse to speak with me
Sincerely,

Dear **. [redacted],
I pleasantly spoke with [redacted] ([redacted]'s daughter) and she understands that the windows have been custom made. She has a friend that can install the windows & pick them up at my warehouse. I will provide an invoice for the windows less the installation cost.
Regards,
[redacted]

The "double lifetime" warranty is noted between the "cash option" and "monthly investment" methods for payment. The salesman further wrote the 25%-45% expected savings which the warranty covers just underneath. Below the cash option section, is the final agreed to price of $5200 for the product and installation. I chose the finance option (line of credit statement attached with the $3640 financed noted as initial purchase) with $1560 down (the credit card payment for the initial down is attached). All of this information is on the sales sheet, demonstrating that this paper along with the the actual purchase (credit statements) and the installation completed was acceptance from both parties that this contract is legal and binding.I have also attached the gas bill and electric bill that was provided to Cap City to show there has not been any savings seen from the installation of the Attic Blanket.

 Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because: I have tried on numerous (10+) occasions over the past two weeks to reach [redacted], to no avail. Each of those efforts are documented. I have left numerous messages, my phone number and my email address and I have not received any reply or response from [redacted] or anyone at the company. All of the calls to Cap City are touted to an answering service which have taken the messages and stated that [redacted] was unavailable. This lack of communication and inability to reach anyone at the company is a major hindrance to reaching a resolution.  I am trying to facilitate the resolution process, but so done from the company must make themselves available in order for me to do so.

I recall an earlier conversation with [redacted] in which I requested the price for the windows uninstalled and have yet to receive a response. The complaint with Revdex.com was filed preceding that call.

The salesperson who facilitated the contract is no longer with the company which has also hindered communication efforts. Cap city should re-think their customer service process. My mother has not been treated appropriately by the company. I can not speak to the longstanding of the company or the quality of their work because no services have been rendered and the communication process has been deeply flawed.

I will through this forum again ask [redacted] to check with his answering service and  contact me with the price of the windows uninstalled. I can be reached via phone and/or email. If the ultimate goal of Cap City is resolution, I encourage [redacted] or someone from Cap City to contact me as soon as possible.

Also I have no objections to following up with Revdex.com once this matter has been resolved. It is not my intent to injure the company, but it is my obligation and privilege to protect my elderly mother as well as her financial interest.
Sincerely,

Review: [redacted] knocked on my door and show me a business card and brochure with company and said he was working in my area and show me where he seen storm damage to my siding and said our insurance would cover it. We called our insurance company and [redacted] talked to the adjustor and agreed to meet him the following week to show him the damage. We were given a claim number. He assured me that they do this all the time and the only thing we had to pay was our deductible All this took place beginning July 1st. 2013. He said when the insurance sent our scope and a payment to contact him. We did that and waited. I contacted the company and the owner talked to me and said if there was a problem to call back. I waited again and finally called [redacted] on Monday (8/26,2013) He had me email the scope again and said he would call me on Tues. (8/27/2013) He did not and I called the company again and asked for the owner and was told he was in a meeting and would call me. I called [redacted] Wed. (8/28/2013) and his phone is no longer excepting calls. I called the company and I continue getting voice mails. The adjustor cut a piece of siding and wind is getting under the siding and has cause further damage to the side of my home. I want my home fixed and I do still have a contact I signed. But I am afraid of doing business with this company but I don't know what to do. I am disabled and I live on a fixed income. I feel like I've been scammedDesired Settlement: I want to be able to get my siding done correctly and the promised kept but I don't want just anything I want quality workmanship done and proof this is a real company. I looked them up on the internet and have not got anything. I want them or let me out of the contract so I can find someone who will do the work soon before bad weather sets in. I have a HOA and it has to be quality work done and approved by them.

Dear **. [redacted] & **. [redacted] , [redacted] does not work for Cap City. He works for another Company w a similar name, at this time. Cap City provides itself on customer service and does replacement siding, not repairs. [redacted] up to 3 months ago was soliciting Homeowner’s that had storm damage and would submit to Cap City, a few insurance approved replacement jobs. I spoke with **. [redacted] last week, by no means is she under any “contract” w Cap City Home Remodeling. Nor should [redacted] be soliciting under my Company name. He works for [redacted] only. And his Company is [redacted]. Being in business since 1989 and my only 2 complaints have involved this gentleman…. He or his Company has nothing to do with Cap City. Please choose a Contractor your 100% comfortable with and I apologize For ANY inconvenience he may have caused you.. [redacted]Managing Member###-###-####Fax ###-###-####

Review: [redacted]

I am rejecting this response because:

Regards,

I have a sign with Cap City in my yard and a contract with thier name on it. The insurance company came out and cut a piece of siding off my house. My siding is damage and somebody needs to fix it and be respondsible for this scam and I should not have to come out of my pocket to fix this problem

Response:

Dear [redacted], From the letter below she gives no reason for rejecting my offer because: -which states the complaint would be closed. I previously accepted her initial offer that—she’s not bound to a contract w Cap City & can use a Contractor of her liking to get the work done. The attached picture of an agreement is only “that we will work w her insurance company to get her funds -to fix her damage”. Not a contract to perform any work. That usually comes after, if they are approved by the field adjuster. Cap City successfully got her $3,384.28 less a $250 deductible! She already received $1,562.81.. after the work is done they will send her another $1,571.47. Please see attached… Thanks, [redacted]

Would definitely recommend this company to my neighbors. I myself was referred to them by a neighbor and was thoroughly impressed by Cap City. Had my roof and windows redone this past June. Their crew was dedicated and made sure they cleaned up all the debris from the roof when they were done. Very professional!

Review: On 6/28/11 I contracted with Cap City Home Remodeling to purchase and install a solar water heater in my home. Within a year, the solar water heater stopped working properly. I contacted Cap City to come to my home and repair it. During that service call, the technichan replaced the heating element thinking that would solve the problem. One month later on 8/1/12, my solar water heater stopped working again. I contacted Cap City again to service my water heater since I had been without hot water for a month. I was told by Cap City that they would have a service person out soon. I contacted a plumber since my electric water heater is still in my home but upon the plumber's inspection, the solar water heater is blocking my electric water heater so reconnecting to my electric water heater is not an option. I have called Cap City repeatedly over the last year with no resolution. I was given the names of Managers [redacted] and [redacted] with their phone numbers to try and elevate my issue. Each time I call their office, I am sent to their voicemail which is full. In addition, recently a Cap City representative was at my home to market other Cap City products and tried to assist me with my issue and he did not receive an answer on how to remedy my situation either. I have paid close to $25,000 for Cap City's services and have been without hot water for over a year!!!! The solar water heater was still under warranty when I placed the numerous calls to Cap City last year. This is ridiculous that I can not get answer from Cap City or a technician to repair/replace or move the defective water heater so that I can reconnect to my electric water heater so I do not have to BOIL water in order to BATHE!!!! I am beyond frustrated with the service from Cap City and I am starting to believe that they have taken advantage of me since I am a Senior Citizen. I AM NOW OUT OF $25,000 AND DO NOT HAVE HOT WATER IN MY HOUSE!!!!Desired Settlement: I would like Cap City Remoldeling, LLC to refund my money and remove or replace the defective solar water heater in my home.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me. I would also like to ask how will CapCity be contacting me to arrange for delivery of the new unit? Will CapCity be removing the old unit? Am I responsible for disposing of the old unit?

Review: My mother was contacted via telephone by a representative from CAP CITY inquiring about home improvements. An appointment was set up via phone and [redacted] a representative of CAP CITY went to my mother's home on February 9, 2013 and presented her with a contract for windows for the aggregate amount of $3,500, collected a $500 check which cleared February 21, 2013.

My mother recently received a letter of collection for $3,666, indicating debtor balance of $3,450 plus interest of $216. She has advised that [redacted] accepted the check of $500 and no one ever contacted her again. No goods have been delivered and no services rendered nor has there been any correspondence from the company since February 9, 2013.

This is troubling for a number of reasons and I am certain that my elderly mother was targeted. My mother is 71 years old, retired and owns her home which she has fully paid off over the course of 30 years.

- This company is located in [redacted], MD they solicited my mother; My mother did not drive to [redacted] looking for this company

- The representative accepted $500.00 and never contacted my mother again; because the contract states that a lien can be placed against the property

- When trying to contact the company one gets an answering service and there has been no follow-up from the company

- No goods have been delivered and no services rendered nor has there been any correspondence from the company since February 9, 2013.

We received a copy of the contract from the collection company and the print is so small one needs a magnifying glass or 2.5X readers to read it. I am convinced that CAP CITY practices and procedures are either flawed or they intentionally target older vulnerable people who own their homes. [redacted] is way out of CAP CITYs market area!!! Moreover, the only way of contacting the company is through an answering service. The sales representative should be accessible to respond, answer questions and address issues.

I am convinced that this contract is unenforceable based upon the unscrupulous manner in which it was entered; I would like this matter settled immediately without harm or prejudice to my mother. I am prepared to contact the media in efforts to resolve this matter appropriately, I do not want anyone else having to go through this with an elderly parent.Desired Settlement: My mother should be fully refunded for the $500 she paid to CAP CITY and CAP CITY should review and enhance their procedures concerning communication and contracts through their existing sales force team immediately.

Dear **. [redacted],

Review: A representative from cap city energy solutions told myself and my husband that we would receive a rebate of $2,000.00 as a result of getting their insulation product installed in our attics. It has been 6 months since installation and we have not received our rebate. We would not have agreed to have the product installed were it not for the promise of a rebate. I have placed several calls to cap city and to date nothing has been done to resolve this issue.Desired Settlement: I would like to receive the rebate that I was promised or I would like a full refund for the cost of the product and installation and for whatever else I was charged.

Dear [redacted], Attached is the Contract and Invoices regarding the [redacted]’s complaint against my company- Cap City. The Contract clearly states in the middle section “CUSTOMER IS RESPONSIBLE FOR THE FOLLOWING: The Energy Audit and Rebate money from Utility Co. (please see attachment) Please see invoice paid to HOME ENERGY RESCUE for: -Rebate reimbursement w Utility Co.-Energy Audit-Payment of $300-Completed on 10/10/12 The Customer has to work w the Auditor to receive utility rebate.. as was explained. The 50% up to $2,000 does still exist and they need to work w a certified auditor to comply to receive a rebate. We have done many of these and this is my first ever complaint w the Revdex.com and don’t understand why they can’t work w the Utility to get their rebate? Also attached is a refund check from Cap City- dated 9/24/12 for $321.00 --- the back of check when endorsed stated “ full & final settlement”. Please advise. [redacted]Managing Member[redacted]

Review: [redacted]

I am rejecting this response because: I have been calling Cap City for at least six months about this rebate and not at one time did anyone tell me that I would have to deal with the auditor to get the rebate. They said that we would receive the rebate 3 months after the final audit. When that time had passed, I called Cap City and I would have to leave a message or I would speak to someone and they would promise to call me back. No one ever called me back. No one ever said that the rebate would come from the auditor.

First, we never received a bill for the audit. We were under the impression that it did not cost us anything. Second, I do not know what writing full and final on the back of a check means. I a requested a copy of the check that I deposited. I do not trust Cap City's copy. After reading there response to my complaint I called the company that performed the energy audit last October. I was told by a representative of the company that we needed to have sealing installed and Cap City knew it. We were never informed that the sealing had to be installed in order to get the rebate. That was never discussed on the day the [redacted] first met my husband and me. And no one from Cap City has ever mentioned that detail to us. He called my husband after we agreed to the insulation to see if we also wanted to get the sealing. When he told us that it would be extra, my husband said no. [redacted] never mentioned that the air sealing was necessary to get the rebate at any time during the process
