regards to this complaint letter*** * brought his son to our office for evaluation of an illnessAnother patient arrived at our facility shortly after them with stroke signs and symptomsPatients presenting to our facility with emergent signs or symptoms are evaluated before less urgent cases*** *’s son’s needs were not emergent based upon his triage and therefore our physician went to care for the stroke patient firstThis caused a delay in evaluating patients that arrived prior to the stroke patientOur physician states that he apologized to *** * and his son for the wait upon entering their roomStaff reports that *** * was visibly upset with the wait and he verbalized this to multiple staff membersThe lack of notification of the delay to the *** * and his son is an error on our partWe apologize for any inconvenience this causedThis incident has been reviewed with our staff to prevent this from occurring again in the future
