Capistrano Tire And Brake Reviews (1)

To whom it may concern;12/10/14ID # [redacted]In response to the statement of the customer, we did perform an oil change on the vehicleand performed the brake service approved by the customer. Customer had called statingthat oil pressure light had turned on and told her to bring in vehicle....

Customer broughtvehicle on a tow truck. When tow truck was dropping off vehicle in back of shop, thecustomers' husband had also come in as Well. He stated that he and the tow truck driverlooked under the car and saw that under the vehicle was wet and in which looked to besome kind of oil. He had concerns of whether  the oil drain plug or oil filter was placedon right. We had assured them that we will take a look at it and let them know of ourfindings. We did not close the door to ·customer. so they couldn't see. If they wanted tothey had the right to come through the shop and watch but obviously it's at their own riskif they were to get hurt. We pushed the vehicle onto a rack and lifted the car on the hoistThe Technician first checked if. oil showed on dipstick; nothing showed. We furtherlifted vehicle to maximum height to take a better look at the under carriage. The vehiclewas wet Under the car but noticed that only the driver side of the vehicle was wet all theway through the end of the rear sub frame. The Oil drain plus and Oil filter are locatedon the passenger side of the vehicle and the 'locations of the Oil Drain plug and oil filterwere completely dry as well as the passenger side of the vehicle all the way to rear subframe. It was obvious that Oil drain plug and oil filter was placed on the right way. So ·Technician looked at the driver side of the vehicle and noticed a hose protruding out fromwhere the radiator and bumper meet. The hose looked like it had an abrasion. Thetechnician traced the hose and it was hose leading from the oil cooler from where theradiator is located. The hose was covered in oil and was located on the Driver side of thevehicle; Technician had to test whether the vehicle was going to turn over or not so heput a hose covering to cover the tear oil oil cooler hose, to prevent oil from spilling out, ifvehicle were to turn over. After that vehicle was brought down and filled with engine oil,the technician turned the key. The vehicle did not turnover nor had signs of turning overand at that moment we knew motor was seized. We had told customer of our findingsand even brought them inside the shop and showed them what we were talking about. We had showed them that Oil drain plug and oil filter were placed on properly and that itseems like the oil cooler line that was leaking had been hit whether it was by some formof debris on the road. We also proceeded to show the husband that only driver side of vehicle is wet. They decided to tow vehicle to another shop and get a second opinionafter that. We weren't trying to hide anything from the customer, it is why we broughtthem inside the shop and showed them in person of what we found.Sincerely,Capistrano Tire and Brake[redacted]
