Capital Auto & Truck Auctioning Inc Reviews (2)

Review: I won this vehicle from Capital Auto Auction. Upon reviewing the information supplied by them, about the vehicle, the condition report stated that there where had no major problems. After getting the vehicle tags and insurance. I find out the vehicle has a clutch problem., and it is going to cost me a $1000.00 dollars to fix. I called and informed them of the problem. They expressed to me that it was now my problem, and I had to contact them within 24 to 72 hours after purchasing the vehicle. I asked him how my supposed to do this when I need to buy tags and insurance before I can put the vehicle on the road. They basically said it was my problem now. I told them the vehicle was advertised online is having no issues other than a broken arm rests, which I have a copy of their aid. They also expressed to me that the vehicle worked fine in the staging area, but the people who check the vehicle out are not certified mechanics. So how can they state that the vehicle is fine. This could become a very dangerous situation because if I had been out on 95, when the clutch went out. It could have been some major accidents in which people's lives could have been lost. I do not understand how their attitude can be so coy.Desired Settlement: I feel that I should not have to take on the entire burden for the repair of this vehicle. Someone needs to check into their business practices because if you do not have certified mechanics certified these vehicles. You could be selling someone a deathtrap.

August 19, 2014TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN:[redacted] filed a complaint against our company for the purchase of an automobile. The car was purchased on our internet auction website. This website requires that you agree to our terms and condition before you bid. An example of these terms and conditions are as follows:RED LIGHT: "AS-IS" The Red Light designates that the vehicle is sold "AS-IS" with no representations or warranties of any kind. All express and implied warranties are expressly disclaimed. RED LIGHT VEHICLES ARE NOT ARBITRATABLE FOR ANY REASON OF ANY KIND, NEITHER CAPITAL NOR SELLER REPRESENT THAT THE CONDITION REPORT IS ACCURATE OR COMPLETE. All recreational vehicles, motorcycles, boats, trailers, busses, gray market vehicles, former police vehicles, former taxis, and any vehicles sold on branded flood or rebuilt/reconstructed are sold "AS-IS".ARBITRATION POLICY If you are the Buyer of a Green Light vehicle, you are entitled to inspect your purchase and submit it for arbitration for undisclosed conditions within 48 hours from the Time of Sale as stated above. Upon removing the vehicle from Capital, Buyer waives all arbitration rights. One defect must total $500 before vehicle is subject to arbitration unless declared unsafe by arbitrator. Any defects found must be settled by arbitrator whose decision shall be binding upon Buyer and Seller. Önce arbitration process has concluded, the transaction becomes AS-IS ("Red Light"). Vehicles may be arbitrated once.Firstly, above you can see that we sell our cars “AS-1S” with no warranty or guarantee of any kind. However, we still will arbitrate the sale of the vehicle if the complaint is filed in a timely fashion. [redacted] picked up this vehicle and drove the vehicle horne himself. At the time of pickup [redacted] made no mention of a clutch issue. If a clutch issue was mentioned at time of pickup or 48 hrs after the sale, we would have made a consideration for arbitration.Secondly, 100% of the proceeds for the sale of our vehicles go to charity. Even if we wanted to provide an entire refund for this vehicle, we would be unable because a check has already been written for the charity. Finally, answering [redacted] comment, “The auction sells unsafe vehicles”. Every one of the vehicles sold at our auction is required to meet state safety inspections before tags are issued on the vehicle, [redacted] purchased is no different and is required to meet all of Maryland Safety requirements before the car can be operated on the road. Please let me know if you have any additional questions.Regards,

Review: Purchased vehicle online. Paid Vehicle, all fees and vehicle transportation. Contacted office on 4/1 to speak with staff about confirming payment..Staff member [redacted] was contact and we had discussion of where papers needed to go and when the paper work was going out...We even verified conversation by me testing to her number address 301-792-1192...Which I still have on record...Now 1month later...Not only have I not received title, they are being confrontational, telling they are busy and because I am not a frequent buyer...TOUGH...I have to deal with it... If it were not for me contacting Postmaster of that area to assist me with forwarding the my location I would never be HOPEFULLY getting my paperwork...Desired Settlement: I want refund of 145 buyer fee and 45 they charge for supposed convenience.... No service was provided that constitutes convenience...They have cost me time and monies while I await this issue...
