Capital Bank Open Sky Reviews (16)

So I signed up last month and cannot find or recall my pin. The customer service number I called gives me no option to speak to a person about it and I cannot seem to find a current email address for them to email about my issue which is upsetting to say the least... Although I haven't made my first payment my score has already improved greatly. Just wish I could talk to someone about my pin number.

To whom it was concern:

I am writing in regards to my Open Sky CC. I opened the card in 2017 and have always paid on time and more then what we asked from me. I opened this card to help with my credit issues and to help bring my score up.
I have enjoyed being able to have this card up until January 4, 2019 when I received a notice from Experian that I was reported 30 days late from capital bank. I was very confused since I made a payment on January 3, 2019 in the amount of $200. I called and spoke to a manager by the name of Diana that explained to me that it should not of happened since Open sky doesn't report until at least 60 days past due. She explained to me that I was only charged one late fee, that she removed, and it does not show late. Diana then informed me that she was going to write in my account that this needs to be removed and for me to send a fax to 516-576-8610.
I faxed a letter out explaining my concerns and on January 23,2019 I received a letter stating that it would not be removed. I find this unacceptable since I have been a customer that has been in excellent rating with you and also on auto draft. I know that when I was talking with Diana I explained to her that I never received a notice letting me know that my account was past due nor that my payment did not go through. Diana explained to me that this company does not do that. I looked into to it farther and noticed that before when my payment did not go through, it inform me and also let me know if the account was past due.
I have enclosed that evidence. I have also included copies from the three credit reports where it shows different reporting. Equifax report shows that I always paid more then what was due but not on the other two credit reports. Equifax credit reports shows no past dues but states 30 days. Experian shows paid on time but past due as of January 2019 which my payment is not due until the end of January 2019. All the reports show a different outstanding balance on them as well. Equifax shows date of last payment being 12/18 but its late as of 12/2/18. It doesn't state anything where is has a delinquency first reported on it. Transunion shows Current on worst pay status.
I am just hoping that we can resolve this issue since it is not reporting correctly.

I am asking for the 30 days to be removed due to inaccurate information on all three credit reports and not informing me when the payment did not go through since it has been reported to me in the past along with when the payment was posted and if over my limit.

Review: Early June 2014, ive applied for a secured credit card with open sky. After I sent in my security deposit to start the account. They sent a confirmation email stating that the card is was on its way in 7-10 business days. After the 15th day I called and reported the card was never recieved. They canceled it and said they were resending another in 7 to 10 business days. I recieved a letter saying that they recieved my request and will be replacing another card shortly. After Additonal 14 days still no card. I've called several times a day. I even told them that ill pay for my own shipping they said no they shipping option they have is their rush shipment which is $50! After a month of waiting they said it was something with my address! How could it be when I recieved the letter and I went to my local post office to make sure that there wasn't any problems on my behalf. Finally a woman I spoke with told me they will rush ship the card and email me the tracking info days later and still No CARD! They transfer for phone to phone!Desired Settlement: Also I want other hardworking Americans to also know that dealing with Open Sky is a very RISKY Situtation!!! Please beaware of all the dangers that comes along when dealing with this company. I also want [redacted] also held accountable for this is as well for reccomending these Ss to people that are trying to rebuild their credit .

To whom this may concern. The company has made contact with me to resolve our issues. I spoke with a woman name Bonnie from Capital Bank Open Sky. She was very helpful to fixing the problem. Although i've waited 43 days she promised she was going to handle it and ship the card overnight and wave my annual first month fee. I would like to resolve the situtation as well. Thanks Revdex.com!

This company is misleading. You deposit your money for a secured credit card. They hold on to your money for days before issuing the card. After holding your money for about a week. They claim to have sent your card out. It has been ten days and I still havent recieved my card.

Review: December 28, 2013

Dear Sir/Lady:

Re: Account # [redacted]

This is a complaint against Open Sky [redacted] Credit Card which secures credit card accounts with

Capital Bank, [redacted] PA [redacted].

I had an Open Sky [redacted] credit card account secured through a savings deposit with Capital Bank.

On September 17, 2012, I addressed a letter to Capital Bank referencing my [redacted] Credit Card

cancellation and called the bank several times and talked with [redacted], Department Credit Manager,

to confirm cancellation of my secured [redacted] Credit Card with Open Sky. Please see copy of reply

letter from Capital Bank dated October 10,2012 confirming my account cancellation and refund

of balance of my security deposit.

After my account cancellation and refund of security deposit from Capital Bank, Open Sky [redacted]

began charging me monthly fees for mailing statements (one copy enclosed) claiming I had not

option for a paperless statement. PLEASE KEEP IN MIND THAT I HAD SUBSCRIBED TO PAPERLESS STATEMENT WHEN THIS ACCOUNT WAS ACTIVE AND KEPT IT UNTIL THIS ACCOUNT WAS CLOSED IN GOOD STANDING. PROOF OF MY SUBSCRIPTION

OF ONLINE PAPERLESS STATEMENT COPY IS HEREWITH ENCLOSED. The fact that I had a small credit still due to me, Open Sky [redacted] took upon themselves to began charging me for monthly statement fees on a closed account in order to offset the small credit due to me and not refund me any money. I called Open Sky months ago and talked with one of their representatives

who assured me they were going to straighten this thing out and stop charging me.

As you can see, from one of their most recent invoice copies herewith enclosed, Open Sky still

keeps billing me for mailing monthly statement fees and threatening me with late payment warning of $20.00 and penalty of increased APR of 18.25% on a closed account even after I had requested them with a phone call to stop this non sense.

Thank you for your assistance with this issue and hopefully this people at Open Sky will come to

their sense with this complaint I am filing against them in addition to addressing a letter to the

attention of The Federal Trade Commission.

Sincerely,

Cc: Files, Revdex.com, Federal Trade Commission.Desired Settlement: Consumer desires refund of credit balance, cease charging for monthly statements of closed account.

Review: I opened up an OpenSky credit card to help repair bad credit. They advertise that you will get your card within 10 days, and it's very simple. WRONG. First of all, they ask for ALL your personal information, and then they tell you that you "can't" pay the $200 deposit online. Finally I sent a money order, then it took over a month to finally get the card, and it took even longer than that to get it activated. They took out a $29 annual fee payment off the top. And then, I was unable to open up an online account to view and pay my bills. I had NO IDEA I would lose the $200, first off, but I did, so this card cost me more than I can afford. I tried and tried dozens of times to set up the online access, but it kept saying that the card is not "authorized" to set it up. I called them 3 times and sent countless messages, trying to get this thing set up. They expected me to call and pay them, having never seen a bill. I do not give out credit info over the phone because it's not secure. Too many times I've had credit info stolen after quoting a card number on the telephone, PLUS I can't pay a bill I've never seen. This went on for another month. Then today I get a letter saying that my bill is past due, and I owe yet another $29 ANNUAL fee payment. I have never ONCE seen a bill for this card. Then I get another email saying that only I can set up the online access, and they can't help me with it. But I can't authorize it, only they can. NOW I want my $200 and that card closed. Clearly they killed my already ailing credit report!Desired Settlement: A complete refund in the amount of $200. The card closed. And NO reflection on my credit report! This is VERY important! and I need the refund NOW. Not in another month or even a week, but TODAY. I'm on a very small fixed income, and losing that $200 really hurt. This company is obviously scamming people, and I need to be able to get a legitimate card.

Review: Capital Bank acquired [redacted] Bank. I need my financial transactions from [redacted] Bank for this past year for tax purposes. Capital Bank is charging $5/month of transactions, or $60 for the year.Desired Settlement: Capital Bank should have the previous years transactions accessible online, for no charge. Review: I held a credit account with Open Sky prior to the company being bought out by the Open Sky Capital Bank, my account was in good standing for the 3 years I held the account. I decided to close the account early 2013 and payed the full balance and it was confirmed that the account was closed by Capital Bank. I was given a reference number and sent a letter stating that the account was closed and in good standing. A month later I began to be sent repeated letters asking my to pay $2-3 fees(on a closed account) each month and telling me that my payments were overdue. I called the Open Sky customer service center three times and it was confirmed that this was in fact an error and that the account was showing as closed in their system. They told me they couldn't deal with it and to contact Capital Bank as a seperate entity. I attempted to call Capital Bank several times over the past 6 months and was repeatedly unable to reach anyone. I would like this account closed on Capital Bank's end and my credit report cleared ASAP if they have been reporting!Desired Settlement: I would like this account closed on Capital Bank's end and my credit report cleared ASAP if they have been reporting!

Review: I called on November 12, 2014 to close my account as they have on other way to close the account other than to call them. The lady told me I had a charge on it and it would be closed as soon as I paid that and they would return my deposit as it is a secured card. I paid it that evening, it posted to the account on November 13, 2014 and I considered the matter taken care of and was told I would receive a check within 6 weeks once that was paid. I got an email telling me my statement was available to view and when I looked at it, I see a charge on there for $1 for a minimum fee posted 12/3/14. I call the customer service number and told them the account was supposed to be closed when I made the payment in November. She told me it was closed, but they still charge a minimum fee for no activity. I asked why they are adding charges to a closed account, she did not know and said I had to call another customer service representative to fix that. She also stated I would have to talk to them to get my deposit back as that wouldn't happen either. This was after the lady told me last month that the check would be mailed as soon as the balance was paid.Desired Settlement: I want them to fix their billing of the $1 as the account was already closed according to the lady I talked to tonight and I want them to send me my deposit money back without all the runaround.

Review: For months now Capital Bank - Open Sky has been sending me notices telling me that my account is overdrawn.

I cancelled this account ages ago. Each time I call, and politely explain that I cancelled the account and that my balance is zero. Each time, they inform me an error was made on their end and that it has been fixed. Each time, shortly after, I receive another letter threatening to report me to credit agencies for failing to pay the made-up, fabricated balance they claim I owe.

I filed a previous complaint with the Revdex.com roughly a month ago. The bank responded and said the same thing -- that the error was fixed. Then, lo and behold, today I receive another threat from the bank telling me they are going to report me to a credit agency.Desired Settlement: I want the false and defamatory information they are threatening to illegally report to credit agencies removed, and I want a notarized letter from the bank informing me that these charges are false and that I will not be charged any money.

I also want $1,500 for my time. Which is cheap. I bill out at $500 an hour, and I've probably spent 7-10 hours on this ridiculous issue, thus I am entitled to more like $5,000. But I'm willing to give them a discount and charge a mere $1,500 for the time and frustration this has caused me.

I made my last payment on this account and closed it nearly 3 years ago and today 08/10/15 I get a statement. It took me 9 calls to cancel because although the rep said it was cancelled it never was, so now I have to wonder is this account Open again? Victor at Open Sky states it was a glitch, If I had a Dime for every time this company had a glitch, they would owe me money.
So all I can do now is wonder, is it open or closed, like the last 7 months with this company in 2012 will I have to call many many more times to ensure they do the right thing? Sad state of affairs for US companies these days.

Review: Due to my abusive husband causing my credit issue, I had to apply for a secured credit card. I was told by the Open Sky representative that I had to send in the $300 deposit plus a $29 fee before they would issue my card. I sent in a payment for $329 and on the US Postal Money Order wrote that it was for a $300 deposit plus the $29 annual fee. I then received a bill for an additional $29. I contacted the company and receive a response that they were sorry I was told the wrong information but due to their own internal accounting process refused to correct the error. I should not have to take time off of work to go and get an additional money order, pay for the money order and then pay to ship it. I should also not have an additional $29 of my money held by this company for the entire length of time I have the card. This is a deceptive business practice.Desired Settlement: Ideally this company would waive the fee due to the inconvenience of having to file a complaint with the company and then with the Revdex.com.

At the very least, Open Sky would correct their mistake and correctly credit my account. Especially since I even put the way it was to be credited on the US Postal Money Order that was cashed by Open Sky.

Review: On 10/6 I sent an email to Capital Bank/Open Sky informing them that I WAS DECLINING the offer of a credit card. I ask that they DO NOT withdraw 500.00 dollars from my checking account. On that same day I received an email from Open Sky customer service department stating that they have received my email as it assigned a ticket [#[redacted]] Stated that it may take 24-48 hours to recieve a response from a representative. On 10/7 I received noticifation from my bank that Captial Bank/Open Sky has taken 500.00 dollars out of my account putting my account into a negative balance. The company withdraw the 500.00 after the email was sent informing the company that I DECLINE the offer. After speaking with a rep. Jonathan this morning 10/7 he informed me that customer service department does not open until 8:30. I will not wait 5 to 7 business days for my money to be returned to my account. I sent an email to the customer service department on 10/7 informing them that I will be filling a complaint with the Revdex.com. If you are informed in written that you wish to decline an offer and you still process then something needs to be done.Desired Settlement: I want my 500.00 dollars put by in my account the same day it was taken out. I DO NOT wish to have any future contact from the company after my funds are returned. I WILL NOT wait 5 to 7 business days from my funds to be refunded. I would like it to go on record about this company practices. This is not acceptable.

The issue has been resolved.

Review: I requested several times through the phone with Open Sky customer service representatives to permanently closed my accounts with them. I get transfer to an account specialist over and over and each time they tell me the account is closed, but I am still getting a bill from them each month and being charge for they Purchase Plan, $3 each monthly. I paid the balance off and call to closed the account again and they tell me the same thing. They tell me it is taken care of and there is no charge and I don't have to pay it. So I didn't paid the next bill that Open Sky send me, then I get another bill next month, this time it is $6. I call Open Sky again and talk with an account specialist/ service representative. This time they tell me the account was closed but I had a balance and it accumulated. My husband talk to them and they said the same thing. My husband paid the $6 to be sure. I told my husband I paid last time also and they keep mailing this bill for $3 Purchase Plan each month. I don't know what else to do, can you help?Desired Settlement: I would like my account closed and a refund if possible.

Review: My card had a $29.99 annual fee plus a $20 late notice fee. I agreed to pay the $29.00 and scheduled a payment for that day and decided to close down the account. on 10/07/2014 the rep agreed to waive the $20 late fee. I keep getting notices that I still have late fees on my account for this month, even though my account was supposedly closed. Just called customer service on 11/03/2014 and they advised the account was not closed. and I still owe the $29.00 fee plus a $20.00 late fee. Everytime I call, they keep putting me on hold forever.Desired Settlement: Refund me $29.00 anual fee for a card thats closed plus the $20 late fee.

Review: They called me from the Fraud department. I haven't used the credit card for a long time. They told me that there were some suspicious transactions. I told them they didn't belong to me. They thanked and told me that they would put a block on the card. Couple weeks later I tried to log in, but I wasn't able to. I called in. They told me that I had to pay the minimum payment of $50 on an account that I never used. They also told me that my balance was about $80. I asked them I wanted to log in so I could see the transactions. They told me that I have to recieve the new card to be able to log in and see the account. I wanted to dispute the transactions, but again they told me that I had to wait for the paperwork which arrived today, still not showing any transaction. It has no information on it. I still haven't received the card either, so I still can't log in. I went ahead and paid $50 that didn't belong to me. I still owe $30. I don't even know if they are still using my card. They only take payment, but don't provide any information.Desired Settlement: I want to get refunded for $50 that I paid for. I want to be able to see the transactions and be able to dispute it over the phone or online. Because I have not received any dispute letter so far. It has been more than a month.
