We have reached out to our member to let him know that we have resolved the issues he had encountered with his vehicle loan earlier this year.As background, our member had directed his employer to transfer a portion of his payroll to our credit union to pay his vehicle loan with usWithout our
member's employer making us aware, in March of this year his employer's payroll company changed their payroll codeAs the new payroll code no longer corresponded to the payroll record on our member's account here at our credit union, our computer system was not able to post the funds to the vehicle loanInstead the funds were deposited into our member's checking account and were not applied to his vehicle loan thereby causing the loan to appear delinquentWe have applied all of the applicable payments and reversed any late charges that were assessed due to this issue and our member has been made whole again.It is important to point out that our member would not have been in a position to know the impact that the change to his payroll code would have on his loan payment so our member is in no way responsible fur this situationIn regard to our internal operations, currently, unless an employer notifies us that its payroll code has changed we would not generally be aware of thatHowever, due to our member's situation it has prompted us to research the potential of putting a system in place that would detect a payroll code change thereby avoiding this situation from occurring in the future.We believe that this matter has been fully resolved and no further action is necessary however, should you have any questions please feel free to contact me at *** *** *** ***) or by way of email at r***
