February 25, 2016Revdex.com Complaint ID - [redacted])In response to the [redacted] complaint: [redacted]###-###-#### - [redacted]-      [redacted]On Monday, February 15- 2016 at 8:36 Presidents Day - We received a call asking...

what we charged to open up a sewer line. We informed the person $85. per hour and up to 100 feet of snake. We asked if he had a clean-out he said no and we informed him if we go inside your house we charge $165. because it is alot more work because we have to carry the equipment into the house, remove toilet. The price has been the same for five years $165. to enter a home. $165 for the first hour and up to a 100 feet and $95. for each hour after that. The two men arrived before 11:am and left after 1 p..m.  We charged $170. and we didn't even charge him because of the holiday. He did not inform us that his clean-out is in the basement not only that but stairs are super steep and very hard to carry a big machine because the ½” cable wasn’t doing any go so we had to carry an 11/16” snake and remove the toilet. We went 60 feet and we kept getting caught in the pipe. We finally did get it open and we ran 70 feet of snake. We stopped as we always do and we ran water in the washer, we flushed the upstairs toilet and ran water down stairs. No - Back - Up - Of - Any Kind. We did not run the snake any further because it was open and we had already been there 2 hours. The customer did not want to pay any more than $170. The line was open water was going out. The charge at this time was to have been $255. We informed the customer he should have the line tv’d and needs to repair and have a clean out installed so it wouldn’t cost as much because we wouldn't have to go in the house. He was not interested the line was open and everything was flushing out. We left. We charged $170. after 2 hours there. February 17, 2016 got a call that we had not fixed the line - It’s backed up again. We explained that running a snake opens up the line it does not repair it. We have a camera but we do charge extra to use he refused everything is working so no don’t want to pay anymore.  He wants us either come and open it for free. When we were there on the 15th we gave him his invoice he signed the invoice and it explains he has to repair the line and there is No guarantee because it is separated. He said we are guessing at what’s wrong. We are not guessing when a line is broken debris gets caught in the separation of the pipe thus causing a back-up. I want you to come back and open up the line or I shall call another company and you pay them or I shall contact the Revdex.com. We explained we are not responsible if he has a separated line that is his responsibility. We went to open the line we did tell him he had to repair the line. We said he should t.v. the line “No everything is working!” he signed the invoice. Guarantee if any - No - Possible Broken Pipe - Need to T.V. and fix. To repair pipe will cost more than $170. and to run the camera will cost more than $170.  To run the camera we have to run the snake and open the line and then run the camera. You cannot put in a sewer camera because there is no such thing if you put a sewer camera you will not be able to see because of the debris in the pipe. We are not guessing as of the cause of the problem. We opened up the line because it was not working when we left.  Monday they used the facilities and on Tuesday; however if tissue was used or any debris from the washer or kitchen gets caught on the separated pipe it will catch and cause a back up again. He informed me he had used Roto-Rooter six years ago and nothing was wrong with the pipe. Six years ago I was younger by six years, I’ve had to replace my car tires and spring clean my house. “Why didn’t you call Roto Rooter?” again I asked him.  He said “oh they charge to much money!” I informed him after 6 years and 24/7 of usage of the lines they get worn but he was yelling and said to me. “Listen here [redacted]! I decided it was a waste of my time to explain to an individual who has decided someone other than he is going to fix his broken pipe. Who knows how long it has been broken but it finally could no longer take the debris and I could not take him calling me a [redacted]. I hung up. We don't take responsibility for his broken pipe. It was broken when we arrived at his home. I explained we do use a camera but we do not fix or replace pipe at this time; but we told you who does that kind of work and we camera the line so you know what’s going on with your line.Calling a person names does not change the fact His - Line - Is - brokenDavid H[redacted] PresidentFrances H[redacted]
