Review: My company's is Behavioral Interface and it is a psychotherapy group practice. I was contacted by a representative from Capital CPA Professionals, LLP (also known as [redacted]) regarding my accounting needs. The client services representative, [redacted] came out to see me at my office and we discussed my service needs, as a new compamy (Started 4/1/2012).This was February 27, 2013. I signed a contract for the firm to:-complete my personal income tax return-complete my business income tax return-provide monitoring services-assist me in setting up a Quick Book file on my computer to help organize my business. I gave two checks, $300 to do my personal and business income tax and $400 to as fee for a year of services.My financial information for the business was requested and I also included some personal information, pending a discussion of my needs. My inquires about a month later resulted in work being initiated. Several phone calls were made because it seemed nothing was being done on my files. I also reiterated what my needs were and made reference to the contract/agreement I signed on 2/27/12. [redacted], CPA gave me an estimated return a few days earlier which she said was personal and business. It was not explained to me intially that I can't separate them because my business was an LLC and I am the only owner. I conceded to that but indicated that she has not include all my start up cost, after a long phone conversation.I cancelled with the firm by email in April because it seems nothing was being done to my satisfaction and I needed to find another firm before April 15. On April 12 I was sent by email a file with a return which said 'Do not File'. This was the first time I was seeing the partial tax return, after the fact. I reqested a refund of my money and the company refused. My premise is they have not really provided any complete service as promised and I had to pay someone else to get my taxes done. It took the other company one hour onlyDesired Settlement: $700. This covers services not rendered (1) the tax return not completed (2) They were suppose to check the accuracy of my past two tax returns and that was not done (3) I urgently had to pay another company to complete the work and file my taxes. (4) There was no discussion of my most desired request to set up my finances and generate report for my practice.

I am rejecting this response because:

I am not sure what was the purpose of the response dated July 12 from Capital CPA Professionals. The email I sent to terminate services clearly stated my reasons. Further, the attempt to manipulate figures to say I have a bill was just dishonest. The firm never contracted with me to pay for prior months. I would never agree to that. I agreed to pay for upcoming months when I was actually being serviced by the firm. I quickly realized I was not getting the services promised. I was correct in that assumption because another firm provided the same services in hours not months; with an offer to assist me to streamline my finances, and immediately told me what form to file with IRS and converted me to an S-Corporation. This is all without a fee. Trying to justify the lack of productivity is an admission of incompetence.
