I want to warn customers of the potential for double billing because of the long "clearance" time--three weeks or more--for payments to be posted to accounts. In fairness, Capital Digestive Care was willing to refund the double payment, but it should not take this long for payments to post in today's computer age, and it encourages double billing. In addition, the receipt for payment that the customer retains does not include a phone number, billing date, or account number, complicating customers' ability to understand the mistake.

As stated in [redacted]'s complaint, she was seen by one of our doctors on 9/23/14 (preprocedure) and for a follow up visit on 10/14/14 (post procedure). We billed her insurance company ([redacted]) for both of those visits, and they responded...

with partial payment on each and applied $20,00 to patient responsibility as copayment.I called and spoke with [redacted] today and explained that any questions could be directed to [redacted] for a description of her benefits, and even offered to do a conference call, if she would prefer.

Review: The office manager, [redacted], was incredibly disrespectful and discriminated against me when I came to the office for a follow up. Before even seeing the doctor, she intercepted me and assumed I did not speak English - offering an Asian nurse to speak to me slowly. When I said I spoke English, [redacted] was surprised and still refused to allow me to speak to the doctor unless I went through her. I was not sure what she had to gain by my conversation with her, other than she wanted a co-pay. After a lengthy argument with her, I decided I had enough and requested to have my paperwork sent to my primary physician. She responded with a threat that I would never know what my serious and possibly life-threatening condition is without their office. Since that time, my family member spoke with [redacted] to get my medical records sent over and as of yet - they have not released my medical records. I do not know the true severity of my condition or whether she was just threatening me out of her own anger.Desired Settlement: Release my medical records over to my primary care physician immediately.

Review: I went into the office on September 23, 2014, and spoke to the doctors about my concern. I was scheduled for a procedure on the 6 of October. I paid my co pay when I arrived for my innitional appointment. When I came back for my follow up, I was made to make another co pay appointment. When I asked why I was told I have to pay my co pay Everytime I come into the office, I said it was a follow up and it should have been included in my procedure. I called the corporate office and was told I had a diagnostics done, and that was incorrect. I was their to get my results from my procedure, and to see how I was doing after my procedure. They refused to refund me the other co pay, and I was told by my insurance company that they were not charged for the follow up because it was included.Desired Settlement: I was like a refund for the co pay that I paid. It's unethical practice because it's mandatory for a doctors office to included the follow up visit after a procedure.
