Hello Dispute Resolution Team, I have had an opportunity to get all the facts from Terry, the Service Advisor who was helping Mr *** when he brought his *** in for repair. My apologies for the delay in getting back with you. We are proud of our reputation and excellent standing with the Revdex.com and intend to do all we can to keep that standing excellent. I appreciate your patience with me while I was able to gather the following information:After Mr*** noticed the damages when fueling his vehicle up after he picked it up from the shop on Nov 25th he brought the vehicle back to Skeeter's and showed the damages to Terry. Terry promised him to be "on top of it" to see if we could come to a mutually beneficial conclusion. Part of the process for our Service Advisors is to ALWAYS make sure our clients have the benefit of the doubt and to make sure they are not out of transportation while this process is taking place. Therefore, Terry procured a rental vehicle for Mr *** from our local *** Rent A Car compliments of Skeeter's Auto Service and was told he could have the car until we were able to investigate what, if anything, happened to the vehicle while in our care. We started going back over the video and actually sent the video, and complaint, to our IT professional so he could go back and find the exact time when it got to the shop and then follow its tracks for the time period it was here.. We were very busy that week and it took us a little bit to actually start going back over hours of tape to see the condition of the vehicle when it came into the shop. During this time period Mr *** was in a rental vehicle being paid for by Skeeter's. He came in during that time period to ask what the progress had been made and we were sill trying to go through all the tape. He was angry that we still didn't know exactly what happened but again, the rental car was being paid for by Skeeter's and he was not out of transportation. He then demanded to take his car and said he would file a Revdex.com complaint and file suit for the damages. Ironically enough, that same night, our IT professional was able to get to the tapes and he found the video of Mr *** pulling into the parking lot of Skeeter's Auto Service when he originally dropped the vehicle for transmission repairs and the DAMAGES WERE ALREADY SHOWING ON HIS VEHICLE. We have a date and time stamped copy of the video. We explained this to Mr *** and he did not agree. He then said he was going to file suit and a Revdex.com complaint. Of course, we did not want that to happen but we also did not feel like we should have to pay for damages that we did not create. The damages were CLEARLY visible on the car when he originally pulled into the drive upon arriving to Skeeter's for the first time. It is standard policy to begin gathering information immediately upon discovering that a vehicle might have been damaged in our facility. This is why we rented him a vehicle compliments of Skeeter's Auto Service and also had the vehicle inspected by our body shop. Also, in the discovery period we had an estimate prepared to fix the body damage should we discover on tape that it was damaged while in our possession. That estimate was $1000. However, upon discovering the damages were on the vehicle prior to Mr *** arriving at our shop, we did not offer to have them completed. In light of this discovery, I do not believe we should be responsible for paying for the body work and rental car charges that Mr *** is seeking.Please do not hesitate to contact me should you need further information.
