I went in today just to look around and ended up leaving with a car I love*** and *** were very helpful with working with my budget and helping me find insuranceI really don't understand the bad reviews because I had amazing customer service today

Purchased a vehicle on 4/26 30 day tag went out on 5/26 have yet to received a license plate.I called the salesman who sold us the vehicle and he keeps giving me the run around telling me that the place in being sent to my home address. When I contacted DMV they have no record of my purchased vehicle. When I told the salesman that he then stated that they haven't received the title from the other dealership. I call him everyday to find out what it going on and no one up there knows! This is ridiculous that I have no transportation because my tag is dead and I cant drive my car! Many people that purchase a car from there have the same issue! I will never purchase a car from here or refer anyone. They should have already sent my information to the DMV and I should have had my tag before the 30 day tag ran out!Desired SettlementI want my tag sent to me ASAP so I can drive my car legally! I should not have to be going through this no other dealership is this behind!

Company claimed no down payment was made, after 2 months and it being at their shop after one month. They decide to repo the vehicle.Claimed we did not pay the down payment. Then two months later they want to repo the vehicle that is no longer theirs. It belongs to the finance company. We had to pay the down payment again, and pay repo fees. We will be seeking an attorney. The sales men are also very rude. Will never step foot back there again. They also did not fix the vehicle when we had it a month. It stayed there a week to fix things wrong with it due to warranty we purchased. Things are still not fixed.Desired SettlementI want the second down payment we paid, since it is not our fault they lost it, I'm guessing.Business Response This customer never paid a $3,500 down payment. Our sales person and sales manager repeatedly called regarding the money. Over the course of two months the story he told them changed completely. After about a month he stated that he paid with credit card but did not have a receipt. We looked back through all of our credit card transactions around the alleged dates and no $3,500 payment had been paid. After the sales person relayed this information to him, his wife said they paid in cash. Our policy is to receipt cash at the time of the transaction. This couple tried to get away with not making their down payment and it did not work out as planned. This is why they are upset. Consumer Response They are very incorrect!! This was paid to them on the day of purchasing the vehicle. There was no difference of stories on our behalf it was on theirs. To which we were told they know what we did not pay it because they do not take credit cards, then I explained we did not pay with credit card but the money for the down payment did come from a credit card paid in cash to them. They continued to say they has us on video not paying but would not produce a video, we were told they don't have to show us anything, except in court.Final Business Response Capital Ford of Hillsborough will be happy to resolve any mechanical issues that this customer has had with his vehicle. As stated in the previous response, the down payment was never made originally like the customer promised. After they were asked about the money for nearly a month their story changed. The husband started to say they paid the money on a credit card at the time of purchase. We looked at all of our records and no money was taken on a card. We also asked him to bring physical proof from his credit card statement. He never produced anything. After the second month of requests to bring in the money, the wife stated that they paid the money in cash. She said this was why they could not produce any proof. Our policy is to receipt any amount of cash at the time it is received. We are deeply sorry for any confusion. We uphold integrity to the highest degree and want nothing more than what is owed to us.

I went in today just to look around and ended up leaving with a car I love. [redacted] and [redacted] were very helpful with working with my budget and helping me find insurance. I really don't understand the bad reviews because I had amazing customer service today. ","pos-1

Purchased a vehicle and negligence on behalf of dealership has left me no registration in over 30 days and no money due to me.I purchased a[redacted] VIN#[redacted] on 8/8/2015. The deal # is[redacted] and sales person was [redacted]. The dealership failed to pay off my trade in loan with[redacted] account number [redacted] for our[redacted] VIN#[redacted] for the amount of $28,235.19 within their agreed timeline of the projected payoff. This caused us to have to pay $566.21 on 8/15/2015 on top of the new [redacted] note. Our Salesman ([redacted]) had to nerve to call me a few days after that all flustered because the dealership realized it hadn't payed off the [redacted] yet and wanted it payed off immediately. He failed to keep proper records of our transaction and was too lazy to walk a few cubicles down to talk to the finance manager to ask for the[redacted] account number and contact information. The indolent dealership refused to pay the $28, 935.19 as agreed in our contract because they new we had made a payment on it and instead paid $28,429.92 which was the current 10 day pay off. This is a difference of $505.27 and doesn't take into account interest accrued due to their negligence. Here we are well over 30 days after the sale and I have no refund of funds due or valid registration to keep driving the purchased vehicle and they don't care. The insanity continues with their main office refusing to send us the money owed or properly register the new vehicle until the bank delivers the title of our trade in which is clearly out of our control. [redacted] /////Desired SettlementI want the $566.21 I had to pay out of pocket due to the dealership's indolence as well as an additional $500 for not being able to drive the vehicle after the 30 day mark from the lack of filing registration and caused missed time away from my family dealing with this issue over the past few weeks. This is embarrassing dealership and will never recommend them to anyone!!! /////

Just recently purchased a [redacted] from this dealership. The sale was contingant upon places on the car being fixed. They came on 6/15/15 and had the vehicle for a wk. Two of the problems with the car was the front and rear bumpers. They dropped the car off, didn't even ring the doorbell so that I could go look and the repair while they were here. I was looking at the vehicle and noticed places on the back bumper, which was suppose to have been painted had been touched up with touch up paint. They neglected to fix the other places on the bumpers. I have called that dealership, left a voicemail for the manager. He has yet to return my call. I also found out who own's this dealership and got in touch with him and left him a voicemail as well and haven't heard from him either. I had told the sales rep that I would be more than happy to go back and pick up the vehicle that we traded in on this since this matter has not been followed through.Desired SettlementTo either fix the car, and fix it correctly, or give me my vehicle back that we traded in on this.Business Response We reached Ms. [redacted] concerning her issues on July 3, 2015. Her car was repaired originally to the places she designated at time of purchase. Although, it just was not to her satisfaction. We have arranged to send our drivers back to her house and pick up her [redacted]. We are going to redo the original repairs and take care of a few other issues she has. Hopefully Ms. [redacted]' concerns will be resolved and we will have a happy customer. If she has any further issues with her vehicle we will do our best to resolve those as well. Consumer Response They finally fixed the car to my satisfaction.

Car purchased from dealer was sold unsafely without a bumper beam and bumper was attached by metal screws. Car was previously in an accident. On March 23, 2016 purchased a used 2013 [redacted] from Capital Ford of Hillsborough. On March 2nd I was hit from behind while stopped at a red stoplight. The car was brought to [redacted] to get appraised of the damage and work with Insurance company for repair. They found car had previously been In a car accident and had no bumper beam and plastic bumper was held by metal screws. Brackets on both sides of vehicle and absorber was missing also. Floor board was damaged and trunk had holes in it with baking soda in it to cover up smell . I was told if I had been hit any harder the back of car would've hit the gas tank more and could've exploded. When asked the dealership to either allow me to trade it in or help pay for repairs they said they wouldn't and wasn't their problem. Have contacted them several times to help. Car was totally looked at many cover ups we're done and told shouldn't have passed inspection or sold without completely checking out and told of any previous accidents or sold 3 times in previous auctions in a year . Capital Ford completely tried to cover up previous damage and unsafely sold a car that could've injured me more or killed me.Desired SettlementThe car at this time has over $1200.00 of repairs to be done before the insurance could cover accident damages payment for those repairs. those are just the basic to get it back on the road. Made loan payment once already for car and not driving it. Would like to have dealership to pay for repairs needed or trade in car for another.

Took my car in for recalls to be fixed and the service tech wrecks my car.I have a 2011 ford fusion that had 3 or more recalls on it. My wife carries it to capitol ford in hillsborough nc to have them fixed, They tell her it will take about 4 or more hours to fix it. She carries it in on X-XX-XX and drops it off, they shuttle her home. 2 hours later they call her saying the car is ready and they are sending the shuttle to get her, then they mention that the car was involved in a slight incident. They continue by saying it is just a ding. My wife arrives and sends me pictures of the car and its way more than a ding, the passenger [redacted] is caved in, the bumper is trashed and the headlight assymbly is busted. She askes them if they are going to fix it since the car was in perfect condition when dropped off, They tell her that because it was the other lady's fault (even though it was their technician driving it) that she would have to call our insurance company and let them handle it, because its nc state law. Well that would be true if mywife was driving the car but she wasnt, they were and when I called them I was put on hold by the manger, then hung up on. I called back the manger asnswered then transfered me to the service manger ([redacted] was the reason for that he is the manager) anyhow I ask why they didnt fix it and was given the same [redacted] story. I then call ford inc, They tell me they are sorry for what has happened and that it should have been handled by them seeing how my car is now busted up, The cars value has now dropped by over half due to now being a wrecked car. The rep continued to say that if they owned the dealership they would have fixed it, or replaced it due to the value drop. All I was asking for was it to be given back to us in the same shape it was left in, not to mention the grease on the back of my driver seat and the driver rear oh [redacted] handle on the ceiling. They were rude, inconsiderate, unappologetic, and they ruined my car and its value and didnt even say sorry in fact they laughed about the whole thing. Would never recommend them ever after this.....Desired SettlementAlthough my car lost over half the value of what it was worth all I ask is that my car be fixed, or replaced their choice. even though they were not at fault for the accident they were liable and responsible for the care of my car and now its worth less than half of what it was before we took it there....Business Response We have turned this situation over to our security department who is in contact with the customer.

Incompetence or fraudTook my Ford [redacted] into the Capital Ford in Hillsborough NC on Oct 20, 2014. [redacted] called me that same morning and told me that the spark plug was seized up and to proceed with any repair would cost $430 to pull the head. This was not the quote to repair the problem, but just to see what the problem was. I ask what I owed already. He said $106. I told him not to pull the head, that I would pick up the car and pay the $106. I picked it up and brought it home. When I looked under the hood I saw that the spark plug wire was unhooked. I hooked it up. It ran a little better but was still missing. I took all the spark plugs out with manual tools. Nothing was seized up. They all came right out. I replaced all the spark plugs and all the spark plug wires. My car now runs like a charm. I am an old woman. The only conclusion I can come to is either they are totally incompetent or they were purposely trying to rip me off, because what they told me was not at all true. They charged me $106 and did not do anything. Any one should check the spark plugs and spark plug wires.Desired SettlementI want my $106 back. An old woman should not be a better mechanic than the so called professionals at the Ford Dealed.Business Response Contact Name and Title: [redacted] service manContact Phone: [redacted]Contact Email: [redacted]I spoke with Ms [redacted] on October 27th. I apologized for this. In fact the technician had applied penetrating oil in order to break the plug loose. after soaking for a longer time it must have loosened up; however it was our responsibility and a refund was issued to her by check and sent to her by mail from our home office on October 29th.
